Abstract
Description
The present invention generally relates to lighting devices.
It relates more particularly to a lighting device of the type consisting of a container with at least partially transparent or translucent walls, this container containing a hot-melt fuel incorporating at least one wick, the free end of this wick being liable to be ignited to light up.
Lighting devices of the aforementioned type are well known to those skilled in the art. They have the advantage, compared to conventional candle-type lighting devices, to prevent sagging of the combustible material during its heating. Moreover, they make it possible to obtain, in a simple manner, lighting devices of various shapes. However, such lighting devices require the use of a large amount of fuel.
An object of the present invention is to propose a lighting device of the aforementioned type whose design greatly reduces the amount of hot melt fuel required for the operation of the device, and which allows greater security.
For this purpose, the subject of the invention is a lighting device of the type consisting of a container with at least partially transparent or translucent walls, this container containing a hot-melt fuel incorporating at least one wick, the free end of this wick. being capable of being ignited for illumination, characterized in that the container is partially filled with a non-combustible liquid enclosed in the container by the hot melt plug fuel.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the non-combustible liquid is a liquid, preferably aqueous, transparent or translucent, colored or not.
The invention will be better understood on reading the following description of an exemplary embodiment, with reference to the single figure which shows a schematic sectional view of a lighting device according to the invention.
Ce solide 5 est de préférence collé aux parois du récipient 1 de manière à maintenir un positionnement précis de ce solide 5 à l'intérieur du liquide 4.As shown in this single figure, the lighting device, object of the invention consists of a container 1 with walls at least partially transparent or translucent to allow viewing of the contents of the container. This container 1 can affect a large number of shapes. In the example shown, this container 1 is constituted by a stemmed glass. The constituent material of this container may be glass, a plastic material or any other material capable of withstanding a rise in temperature. This container 1 is partially filled with a
During the manufacture of such a lighting device, the procedure is as follows. The container 1 is filled with the
