Abstract

The invention concerns an unwinding case for tape, in particular for scotch tape, comprising first and second main parallel walls (2 and 4), means for maintaining the tape reel in the case during unwinding, an outlet slot (8) for delivering the tape outside the case and means for cutting the tape (18). The maintaining means (40) are arranged such that when the reel (BOB) is in the case, at least the internal surface (5) of one (4) of the first and second main walls is entirely free for placing a first sheet (34) of paper or the like capable of bearing selected information items.

Description

The present invention relates to a tape dispenser box, especially for adhesive tape.

We know dispenser boxes for adhesive tape which usually include a cover so attached removable on a box body. For centering the coil of ribbon in the box, the box body carries on its bottom a tubular axial projection in which the ribbon spool is fitted. As a corollary, the cover includes a tubular axial projection complementary to the projection of the body of box for penetration therein and coil thus fitted to ensure the maintenance of said coil in the box and its rotation.

In practice, an appendage to the box body is associated with a slot for gripping and dispensing the adhesive tape out of the box. Most often, a serrated end of the appendix is used to support and cut the ribbon.

In our current communication society, there is more in addition important and necessary to identify, mark, or to personalize popular products or articles with selected inscriptions or information.

However, currently, this kind of reel boxes does not present little or no open plan space to support easily inside the box of paper sheets or the like likely to bear inscriptions, in particular due to the tubular projections supporting the coil of ribbon and which occupy the bottoms of the box body and lid.

A known solution is to use display panels outside of the box. But such a solution requires a bonding operation of said panels, which is costly to implement, and these exterior panels are take off or degrade over time with handling. Finally, these panels, once glued, cannot be easily replaced.

Another known solution (US-A-3,086,309) consists in make one of the main faces of a reel by a card in cardboard or opaque plastic with information printed on the inside. The card includes a part in the format of the body of the box and another part extending beyond the body of the box to allow hanging of the reel on the shelf. A such a solution is not satisfactory insofar as the protruding part must be removed to allow use from the reel. In addition, the information printed on the part of the card in the format of the body of the box can be read only through the opposite side of the reel and only on the surface not masked by the tape.

The present invention provides a solution to these problems.

It relates to a tape dispenser, in particular for adhesive tape, the box comprising first and second parallel main faces, means for maintaining the reel of ribbon in the box during the unwinding, a slit of outlet for the delivery of the ribbon out of the box and ribbon cutting means, and means capable of carry selected information.

According to a general definition of the invention, the means of holding are arranged so that when the coil is in the box, at least the internal surface of one of the first and second main faces is completely free for placing a sheet of paper or the like therein to carry selected information.

The arrangement of the box with a single sheet of paper placed on a main face corresponds to means of holding the coil integral with the other main face.

By totally free here is meant the absence of boss on the main faces of the box.

According to an important characteristic of the invention, the means for retaining the coil are further arranged so that when the coil is in the box, the internal surface of the other of the first and second faces main is completely free to place another sheet of paper or the like capable of carrying selected information.

According to a first embodiment of the invention, the holding means comprises a removable platform comprising at least one substantially flat, parallel face to the first and second main faces and one of which sides is intended to be plated on the inner surface transparent of one of the first and second main faces, and the other side of which comprises a mandrel holder for coil, said support having a first end secured to the platform and a second free end to position the spool core.

In practice, the box also has four side faces to form a box of generally parallelepiped shape. In this case, the platform advantageously further comprises a second plane face perpendicular to the first face plane, and whose shape and dimensions are chosen for form one of the side faces of the box.

According to a second embodiment of the invention, the holding means comprises a removable platform comprising first and second substantially planar faces, parallel to the first and second main faces, separated from each other by a mandrel holder coil, each flat face of the platform being intended to be respectively against the internal surface of the first and second main faces.

Spool core holder can be in one part or replaced by two bosses provided on each side of the platform and who play the role of support for mandrel.

According to a third embodiment of the invention, the holding means comprises a removable platform comprising a substantially flat face, parallel to first and second main faces, one side of the flat face of the platform comprising a first support of mandrel for a first reel of ribbon, said first mandrel support having a first integral end of the platform, and a second free end, and the other side of the flat face of the platform comprising a second mandrel support for a second reel of ribbon, said second mandrel holder having a first integral end of the platform and a second free end.

In practice, the box includes means for assembling first and second main faces with possibility opening and closing.

The box is formed either by the arrangement of the box body and an attached cover, either by a box open on one of its four lateral faces, said face being then included in the reel holding platform, or finally with a hinged opening and closing flap around a hinge axis.

Preferably, at least one of the first and second faces main as well as the platform are arranged for delimit the exit slot.

Advantageously, the cutting station is housed in one of the side faces of the box, near the slot exit.

In the variant with two coils, the first and second main faces and the platform are advantageously arranged to delimit two outlet slots, one for the first coil and another for the second coil.

In this case also, the box further comprises two stations cutting housings respectively in one of the side faces of the box, near their respective outlet slots.

With reference to FIG. 1D, the present invention relates to a ribbon dispenser box, in particular for ribbon adhesive, in which the spool of BOB tape is shaped cylindrical, with a height determined by the width of the RUB ribbon. The spool of BOB tape usually includes a MAN cylindrical chuck.

Referring to Figure 1B, the box is here shaped general parallelepiped with two main faces parallel 2 and 4 and four side faces 10, 12, 14 and 16.

The two main faces 2 and 4 as well as the faces side 10, 12, 14 and 16 are generally rectangular plane. They can marry a more shapely shape on optionally.

Referring to Figure 1B, the box is open and reference to Figure 3B, the box is closed.

The face 4 is arranged to form a slot 8 for the outlet tape out of the box. The side faces 10, 12, 14 and 16 complete the box to form an envelope substantially hermetic. The widths of the side faces 10, 12, 14 and 16 are chosen so that the box can contain a reel of BOB tape of a thickness chosen, even standard, by example of a few centimeters.

Near the slot 8, the side face 10 is arranged to receive a serrated end 18 which serves as a support and sectioning tape. This serrated end can be that of a metal cutting blade 17 housed in a housing on the side face 10. The side face 14 used to connect the main faces 2 and 4.

For example, means of assembly 6 of the parallel faces 2 and 4, of the articulation type around a hinge axis, include pivot means allowing the face lateral 14 adjacent to face 4 to pivot about the axis vertical 3 and thus ensure opening and closing of the box.

With reference to FIGS. 1A to 1C, a booklet 30 comprising two sheets 32 and 34 of substantially homologous dimensions to those of faces 2 and 4 is likely to be placed at inside the box described in Figure 1B. This booklet 30 is intended to bear inscriptions visible through transparent faces 2 and 4 in order to mark, personalize, or to identify the box, its content, its destination or other, according to the invention. Booklet 30 also includes a strip 36 of dimensions adapted to the lateral face 14 and intended to connect the two sheets 32 and 34.

Note that the shape of sheet 34 is also arranged according to the shape of the outlet slot 8 of the ribbon.

To allow the introduction of the booklet 30 in the box according to the invention, there is provided (FIG. 1C) a platform removable 40 comprising a substantially flat face 42, parallel to the first and second main faces 2 and 4, and one of the sides 44 of which is intended to be pressed against the internal surface 5 of the main face 4, of which the other side 46 includes a mandrel holder 48 for the spool of BOB ribbon. The mandrel support 48 has a first end 50 secured to platform 40 and a second free end 52 for positioning the spool core of ribbon.

The length of the mandrel support 48 as well as its diameter are chosen according to the width of the RUB tape, and the diameter of the spool.

Advantageously, the mandrel support is positioned substantially in the center of the platform 40 to allow centering the coil in the box.

With reference to FIG. 2A, the booklet 30 described with reference in Figure 1A is now introduced into the box described with reference to Figure 1B with appropriate positioning so that sheets 32 and 34 as well as the tape 36 cover the main faces 2 and 4 as well as the face lateral 14.

The material constituting the faces 2 and 4 as well as the strip 14 being advantageously transparent, the inscriptions shown on sheets 32, 34 and 36 of booklet 30 are likely to be visible from the outside of the box.

In practice, the booklet is kept in the box by pins (not shown). Alternatively, these lugs can be replaced by slides (not shown) or even totally removed.

Referring to Figure 2B, the BOB coil is fitted in the mandrel support 48 of the platform 40.

With reference to FIG. 3A, the platform 40 containing the BOB coil is now inserted in the box, to be plated on the internal surface 5 of the main face 4 of the box.

The platform 40 can be fixed on the side 5 of the face 4 by suitable fixing means (not shown), or simply pressed onto it and held in place by blocking and by closing the box.

Finally, with reference to Figure 3B, the box containing the coil in accordance with the arrangement described with reference to Figure 3A is now shown in the closed position with the RUB tape coming out of the slot 8 and pressing on the serrated end 18 for cutting.

Referring to Figures 4A to 4C, there is shown a variant of the box according to the invention, in which the box no longer has the possibility of opening / closing by means of pivoting or articulation assembly, but in which the removable platform is slidable inside the box, the sliding of the platform ensuring the opening or closing of said box.

In practice, the platform 40, with reference to FIG. 4B, includes the same elements as those described with reference to Figure 1C with the exception of further comprising a second flat face 60 perpendicular to the flat face 42. This face plane 60 constitutes a lateral face of the box. This face 60 corresponds to the lateral face 12 described with reference to the Figure 1B.

For the rest, the box according to the invention comprises the same elements as those described with reference to FIG. 1B, to know a slot 8 for the exit of the ribbon out of the box as well as a serrated end 18 for the support and the ribbon cutting.

It should be noted that the booklet bearing the inscriptions chosen is introduced in a similar way to that described with reference to Figure 2A.

Similarly, the spool of BOB tape described with reference to the Figure 4C is identical to that described in Figure 1D. She is intended to be placed on the mandrel support 48 according to Figure 2B.

In the closed position, the removable platform 40 is maintained locked in the box by suitable fastening means such as pins, clips or slides (not represented).

Unlocking the platform, to allow its extraction of the box, is done by pulling this platform outwards, to release the fixing means of their supports on the side faces of the box.

With reference to FIGS. 5A to 5C, another is shown variant of the removable platform supporting the reel in the box.

With reference to FIG. 5A, the platform 40 includes a first flat face 42 in accordance with that described in reference to FIG. 1C as well as a second planar face 70 perpendicular to the face 42. The platform 40 is intended to be introduced into the box according to the arrows illustrated in Figure 5A. The flat face 70 is capable of closing the box when the platform 40 is fully inserted in the box.

The flat face 70 here constitutes the lateral face 14 of the box described with reference to Figure 1B.

In this variant, the booklet can advantageously be in two separate sheets distributed on each main face.

With reference to FIGS. 6A to 6C, another is shown embodiment of the box according to the invention in which the box contains two reels of tape BOB1 and BOB2.

With reference to FIG. 6B, the means for holding the coils BOB1 and BOB2 include a removable platform 100 comprising a substantially planar face 110 parallel to first and second main faces 2 and 4 of the box. One of the sides 120 of the planar face 110 comprises a first mandrel holder 124 for the first coil BOB1. The first mandrel holder 124 has a first end 126 secured to platform 110 and a second end 128 free.

The other side 122 of the planar face 110 includes a second mandrel support 130 for the second coil BOB2. The second mandrel holder has a first end (not shown) secured to the platform and a second free end 132.

The platform 100 further comprises a first planar face 140 perpendicular to the flat surface 110. This flat face 140 is in fact half the bottom of the box.

A second planar face 150 is provided. She is willing to the other side of the planar face 110, perpendicular to this same flat face 110, to ensure the other half of the bottom of the box.

In accordance with FIG. 6B, the removable platform 100 is intended to be introduced into the box in order to place the coils BOB1 and BOB2 inside said box, the surfaces 140 and 150 ensuring the closure of the box.

The booklets bearing the inscriptions are introduced and held in the box against the two main faces of the box as described above.

With reference to FIG. 6C, the coils BOB1 and BOB2 are joined together, with their end of the ribbon oriented in the same direction meaning. Referring to Figure 6A, the output slots 8-1 and 8-2 of the RUB1 and RUB2 ribbons are also joined together to each other and separated by the platform.

With reference to FIG. 7A, a variant of the box with two coils in which the output slots 8-1 and 8-2 are opposite to each other.

For the rest, the platform described with reference to the Figure 7C is identical to that described with reference to Figure 6B.

Referring to Figures 8A1 and 8C2, the removable platform 200 includes a flat face 210 perpendicular to the two main faces 2 and 4 of the box.

Platform 200 supports a BOB coil with a support mandrel 212 held by forks 214 (parallel to sides 2 and 4 and likely to marry different shapes) or by spacing two faces parallel to the faces 2 and 4 and having the elasticity necessary to maintain the coil core.

With reference to FIGS. 9A to 9B, another is shown embodiment of the box according to the invention, in which the removable platform 300 includes first and second substantially planar faces 310 and 320 parallel to first and second main faces 2 and 4 of the box. The flat faces 310 and 320 are separated from each other by a mandrel holder 330 for the bobbin of BOB tape.

Each flat face 310 and 320 is intended to be respectively against the internal surface of the first and second faces main 2 and 4. The platform 300 is here intended for be introduced by sliding into the box.

Referring to Figure 9C, the removable platform 300 described with reference to Figure 9B is now mounted at pivot around an axis 312 perpendicular to the faces main 2 and 4 instead of being slippery as in reference to Figures 9A and 9B.

With reference to FIGS. 9A to 9C, the platform 300 comprises further a side strip 340 whose end 350 constitutes the serrated end for supporting and cutting the ribbon.

Referring to Figures 9A to 9C, the box can be completely hermetic by removing the exit slot and / or the cutting station. Entering and pulling the ribbon is then made by first removing the platform 300 from the box up to a stop notch (not shown) practiced on one of the faces of the box.

Obviously other embodiments can be envisaged for the realization of the box according to the invention. For example, the platform can be made with a non-planar surface, made up of 400 braces (Figure 10) bearing the holding support 410.

Claims (13)

1. Dispenser for tape in a non-pack-aged roll especially for a roll of adhesive tape, the dispenser comprising first and second parallel main faces (2 and 4), means for holding the roll of tape in the dispenser during unrolling, an output slot (8) for outputting the tape from the dispenser, means for cutting the tape (18), and means able to bear selected information,
   characterised in that the holding means (40) are arranged such that when the non-packaged roll of tape (BOB) is removably positioned in the dispenser at least the internal surface (5) of one (4) of the first and second main faces is totally free in order for a sheet (32) of paper or the like able to bear selected information to be placed thereon.

Dispenser according to claim 1, characterised in that the means (40) for holding the non-packaged roll of tape are also arranged so that when the non-packaged roll of tape is removably positioned in the dispenser the internal surface (3) of the other (2) of the first and second main faces is totally free in order for another sheet (34) of paper or the like able to bear selected information to be placed thereon.

Dispenser according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the holding means (40) comprise a removable plate comprising at least one substantially planar face (42), parallel to the first and second main faces (2 and 4) and of which one (44) of the sides is intended to be placed against the internal space (5) of one (4) of the first and second main faces and of which the other side (46) comprises a spindle support (48) for the roll of tape having a first end (50) fixedly attached to the plate and a second free end (52) to permit positioning of the spindle of the roll of tape.

Dispenser also hang at least one lateral face perpendicular to the first and second main faces according to claim 3, characterised in that the plate also comprises a second planar face (60) perpendicular to the first planar face and of which the shape and dimensions are selected to form the said lateral face (12) of the dispenser, and in that the said plate is able to slide in the plane of the said first and second main faces to permit the said face (12) to open and close the said dispenser by sliding.

Dispenser according to claim 2, characterised in that the holding means comprise a removable plate (300) comprising substantially planar first and second faces (310, 320), parallel to the first and second main faces (2, 4) which are separated from each other by a spindle support (330) for the roll of tape (BOB), each planar face of the plate being intended to be respectively against the internal surface of the first and second main faces.

Dispenser according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the holding means comprise a removable plate (100) comprising a substantially planar face (110) parallel to the first and second main faces (2 and 4), one of the sides of the planar face of the plate (110) comprising a first spindle support (124) for a first roll of tape (BOB1) having a first end (126) fixedly attached to the plate and a free second end (128), and the other side of the planar face of the plate comprising a second spindle support (130) for a second roll of tape (BOB2) having a first end fixedly attached to the plate and a free second end (132).

Dispenser according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that it comprises means (6) for assembling the first and second main faces with the possibility of opening and closing, the said assembly means comprising at least one lateral face adjacent to the first and second main faces and articulated about an axis parallel to the plane of the said first and second main faces to permit opening and closing of the said dispenser.
8. Dispenser according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that at least one of the first and second main faces (2 and 4) and the plate (40) are arranged to define the output slot (8).
9. Dispenser also having lateral faces to form a generally parallelepiped shaped dispenser according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the cutting point (18) is housed in one of the lateral faces of the dispenser in the proximity of the output slot (8).
10. Dispenser according to claim 9, characterised in that the first and second main faces (2 and 4) and the plate are arranged to define two output slots (8-1 and 8-2), one for the first roll of tape (BOB1), the other for the second roll of tape (BOB2).
11. Dispenser also having lateral faces to form a generally parallelepiped shaped dispenser according to claims 9 and 10, characterised in that it comprises two cutting points (18-1, 18-2) housed respectively in lateral faces of the dispenser in the proximity of their respective output slots (8-1, 8-2).
12. Dispenser according to any of the preceding claims characterised in that the material forming the two main faces is transparent.
13. Dispenser according to claim 5, characterised in that it also comprises means permitting the plate (300) to be pivoted about an axis (312) perpendicular to the planes of the main faces (2 and 4).
