Claims (11)
- A transfer device, in particular for pedestrians, the device comprising a first transport element (5; 6) and a second transport element (3) disposed in line with each other, each element (3, 5, 6) having a pedestrian transport surface that is substantially plane and means for moving pedestrians on the transport surface in a longitudinal direction, and being characterized in that it further comprises a transfer device (8) having a platform (9) situated between the first and second transport elements (5, 6; 3), in which transfer device the pedestrian support surface (S2) situated substantially in a single plane common to the transport surfaces of the two transport elements (5, 3; 3, 6) comprises roller means (10) enabling pedestrians to be moved without friction from the first transport element (5; 6) to the second transport element (3), or vice versa.
- A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the transfer device (8) comprises a plate (11) having comb-forming teeth (12) that engage in respective longitudinal grooves (13) of one and/or the other of the transport elements, the plate being fixed to the platform (9) of the transfer element (8) and having its pedestrian support surface (S3) situated in the same plane as that of the platform (9) likewise constituted by roller means (16).
- A device according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the above-mentioned roller means comprise balls (10; 16) rotatably received in corresponding blind holes (17; 18) of the platform (9) and of the comb-forming plate (11), the balls projecting from the platform (9) and the comb-forming plate (11) so as to define the above-mentioned pedestrian support surfaces.
- A device according to claim 3, characterized in that the above-mentioned balls (10) are held in the corresponding blind holes (17) of the platform (9) of the transfer element by means of a plate (19) secured to the platform (9) and having bores (21) through which respective balls (10) pass and of a diameter that is smaller than the diameter of the balls (10).
- A device according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the above-mentioned balls (16) are held in the corresponding blind holes (18) of the comb-forming plate (11) by respective flat holding washers (22) having frustoconical central openings (22a).
- A device according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the above-mentioned roller means comprise rollers rotatably mounted transversely to the travel direction of pedestrians in corresponding approximately semicylindrical housings of the platform (9) of the transfer device (8) and of the comb-forming plate (11), the rollers projecting from said platform and said plate in such a manner as to define the above-mentioned pedestrian support surfaces.
- A device according to any preceding claim, characterized in that the platform (9) of the transfer device (8) is supported firstly to pivot on a support frame (24) by support feet (25) and secondly is fixed to the support frame (24) by two tiebolt-forming elements (31) situated on either side of the platform (9) outside the support surface thereof so as to enable the tilt of the platform (9) to be adjusted to a position in which the support surface is situated in the plane common to the transport surfaces of the two above-mentioned transport elements.
- A device according to claim 7, characterized in that the support feet (25) of the platform (9) of the transfer device (8) have their free ends received in respective inclined grooves extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of pedestrian travel and implemented respectively in support parts (27, 28) secured to the support frame (24), said transverse grooves (26) enabling the transfer device (8) to move transversely by sliding a short distance, of the order of a few millimeters, when the longitudinal grooves (13) of one and/or the other of the transport elements encounter the teeth (12) of the comb-forming plate (11).
- A device according to claim 7 or 8, characterized in that each tiebolt-forming element (31) has a threaded end (31a) anchored in a tapped hole of a first transverse pin (32) supported by a clevis (33) secured to the platform (9) of the transfer device (8) and has its other end (31b) threaded and passing with clearance through a bore (34a) of a second transverse pin (34) supported by a clevis (35) secured to a support part (28) fixed to the support frame (24), two nuts (36, 37) situated at opposite ends of the second transverse pin (34) securing the other threaded end (31b) of the tiebolt-forming elements (31) with axial clearance so as to enable the transfer device (8) to pivot upwards relative to the conveyor belt (3) about the free ends of the support feet (25) thereof when an object becomes jammed between the longitudinal grooves (13) of one or other of the transport elements and the teeth (12) of the comb-forming plate (11).
- A device according to claim 9, characterized in that each support part (28) of the clevis (35) of the second transverse pin (34) has a transverse inclined groove (26) for supporting the end of a support tab (25) of the transfer device (8).
- A transporter, in particular for pedestrians, comprising a main transport element (3) of the conveyor belt type which is extended at each of its ends by a respective transport element (5; 6) capable of operating as an acceleration element (5) or as a deceleration element (6) between the main transport element (3) and a stationary loading floor (1) or a stationary unloading floor (2) for pedestrians, the transporter being characterized in that it includes a transfer device as defined in any one of claims 1 to 10 that is disposed between the accelerator element (5) or the decelerator element (6) and the main transport element (3).
