Le dispositif en question est applicable à des éléments tels que des portes et des fenêtres coulissantes et assimilés, et il a été conçu pour assurer cet élément déplaçable sur un encadrement périmétral de sorte qu'il puisse être libéré. Le dispositif est du type comprenant un ensemble destiné à s'encastrer dans le profilé constituant le montant vertical (en général, un profilé métallique) de l'élément mobile, fixé sur celui-ci au moyen de vis et comportant un bouclier qui se prolonge en une mortaise qui héberge, longitudinalement guidée, une pièce coulissante qui porte, fixé à une première extrémité, un membre de fermeture, tel qu'un crochet, qui dépasse le chant de l'élément mobile, destiné à rester emprisonné dans un logement ou un accrochage correspondant de l'encadrement périmentral, tandis que la deuxième extrémité de cette pièce coulissante reste en face d'un ressort, ladite pièce coulissante comportant un délardement ou un appendice pour son actionnement manuel, accessible à travers une ouverture dudit bouclier.
