Description

The present invention relates to a container for nail polish.

Containers for nail varnish have long been known which comprise a bottle containing the varnish and a stopper to which the brush is fixed by a rod, the latter plunging into the bottle and therefore into the varnish when the container is closed.

The bottles used most often are in the bulging shape and have a flat bottom which allows them to be placed. However, these bottles have two drawbacks. It is difficult to hold them in your hand while you polish your nails and they are difficult to transport, for example, in a handbag because they are difficult to fit and take up too much space.

To make the bottle easier to transport and handle, we thought of giving it an elongated shape similar to that of a pen. But, in this case, there is a problem: in order to be able to consume the varnish until complete exhaustion, the brush must be relatively long. Indeed in the case of a bottle of elongated and narrow shape, it is difficult to play on the inclination of the bottle to immerse the brush in the varnish when the level of varnish drops and the brush must therefore have a length close to that of the bottle. However it is practically impossible to ensure the correct varnishing of the nails with a brush with long rod because the deviations of orientation imprinted by the hand at the stopper are reflected, at the level of the brush, due to the large lever arm which constitutes the length of the rod, by unacceptable deviations for guiding the brush.

The present invention aims to provide a container for nail polish of elongated shape which allows the use of a relatively short brush.

The present invention therefore relates to a container for nail polish comprising a bottle containing the varnish and a stopper provided with a brush connected to the stopper by a rod, the brush plunging into the bottle when the container is closed, characterized in that the bottle is elongated and divided in its length into two compartments by a valve, the brush being entirely contained in the first compartment which is closest to the stopper, said valve being open when the stopper is in the low position relative to the bottle on which it is fixed.

The valve is preferably a ball valve consisting of a ball and an annular bulge fixed on the inner wall of the elongated bottle, providing a circular opening whose diameter is less than that of the ball.

This valve preferably further comprises a device intended to retain the ball when the ball valve is open which is fixed to the internal wall of the ball bottle. This device can be constituted by an annular flange or by legs curved in the form of claws. These legs are preferably arranged regularly. There are conveniently four of them.

The second compartment preferably contains at least one ball having the function of agitating the varnish contained in this second compartment when the varnish container is agitated.

The outer envelope of the bottle preferably consists of two tubular parts, the first tubular part corresponding to the first compartment and fitting into the open end of the second tubular part which has a bottom and corresponds to the second compartment.

The tubular part corresponding to the first compartment is, according to a first embodiment of the invention, made in a single molded part which comprises the annular bulge and the ball retaining device. According to a second embodiment, the tubular part corresponding to the first compartment is composed of a tube into which a plug fits which includes the elements of the ball valve: annular bulge, ball and ball retaining device.

The tubular part corresponding to the first compartment is preferably made of transparent plastic material in its entirety, according to the first embodiment described above. According to the second embodiment, preferably, only the tube is made of transparent plastic.

The new container for nail polish according to the invention operates as follows. When the user tilts the closed container to put the stopper in the low position relative to the bottle, the ball releases the central opening from the circular bulge and a fraction of the varnish contained in the second compartment passes into the first compartment. When the container is straightened, the ball returns to close said central opening. The fraction of varnish contained in the first compartment is thus trapped above the valve and can be removed with the brush to varnish the nails. When the first compartment no longer contains varnish, the user again inclines the container to return a certain amount to the first compartment. The first compartment is therefore used for removing the varnish using the brush and the second compartment constitutes a reserve tank.

  • la figure 1 est une vue extérieure du récipient, selon l'invention, en position fermée ;
  • la figure 3 est également une vue en coupe longitudinale d'un premier mode de réalisation du récipient selon l'invention, montrant le fonctionnement du clapet à bille ;
To better understand the purpose of The invention will now be described, by way of purely illustrative and nonlimiting example, an embodiment shown in the accompanying drawing. On this drawing :
  • Figure 1 is an external view of the container according to the invention, in the closed position;
  • Figure 2 is a longitudinal sectional view of the container of a first embodiment, according to the present invention.
  • Figure 3 is also a longitudinal sectional view of a first embodiment of the container according to the invention, showing the operation of the ball valve;
  • Figure 4 is a partial view in longitudinal section of a second embodiment of a container according to the invention.

The container for nail polish, according to the invention, comprises a stopper 1 and a bottle 2. The bottle is of elongated cylindrical shape and the assembly resembles a pen. The stopper 1 and the bottle 2 have complementary closing elements 3 and 3 ′. According to the embodiment shown, the cover 1 and the bottle 2 have complementary threads. A brush 4 is fixed to the plug 1 by means of a rod. The bottle 2 is divided into two compartments 5 and 6 by a valve 7. The valve 7 is a ball valve constituted by an annular bulge 71 fixed on the internal wall of the elongated bottle 2 and by a ball 72. The central circular opening 73 formed by the annular bulge 71 has a diameter smaller than that of the ball 72. According to the embodiment shown in Figures 2 and 3, the ball valve 7 also includes a ball retaining device consisting of an annular flange 74 fixed to the internal wall of the bottle 2. This annular flange 74 provides an opening circular 75 which also has a diameter smaller than that of the ball 73. The brush 4 is entirely contained in the compartment 6. It may therefore have only a short length which is mainly determined by the location of the ball valve 7 in bottle 2. The length of compartments 5 and 6 is variable. They may have similar lengths, as shown in the appended figures, but also clearly different lengths. The compartment 5 contains beads 8. They are intended to agitate the varnish and to restore its fluidity by thixotropy.

The bottle 2 comprises an outer casing 9 of generally cylindrical shape comprising at one end a flat bottom 91 and at the other end a narrowing 92 carrying the thread 3 ′.

La partie tubulaire 94 définit le premier compartiment 6.According to the embodiment shown in the appended figures, the outer casing 9 consists of two tubular parts 93 and 94 assembled by fitting together and optionally gluing, the tubular part 93 covering the part 94 over a certain length. The tubular part 93 defines with the bottom 91 the second compartment 5. The tubular part 94 defines the first compartment 6.

According to the embodiment shown in Figures 2 and 3, the tubular part 94 is molded in one piece with the constriction 92 carrying the thread 3 ′ at one end and the annular flange 74 and the annular bulge 71 at the other end. This tubular part 94 is molded in transparent material, so that the annular surface 96 which is not covered by the tubular part 93 after fitting, constitutes a transparent window through which the color of the varnish can be seen. The tubular part 94 has a stop 95 for the cylindrical tubular part 93 defining the second compartment.

According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the tubular part 94 is composed of a tube 941, preferably made of transparent plastic, and of a plug 942 which includes the ball valve 70̸1. It can be made of a material identical to or different from that of the tube 941. The plug has an annular bulge 711 providing a circular opening 731 and four claw-shaped legs 741 which hold the ball 721 when the ball valve is open. The plug has a cylindrical part of diameter slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the tube 941 and a cylindrical part 771 of equal outside diameter of the outside diameter of the tube 941, so as to limit the insertion of the plug 942 comprising the valve 70̸1 in the tube 941 .

The varnish container according to the present invention operates as follows. When the user tilts the container towards the cap 1, the ball valve 7, 70̸1 opens. Indeed, the ball 72, 721 releases the opening 73, 731 and will bear against the ball retaining device 74, 741. The varnish contained in the second compartment 5 flows in the direction of the arrows F ( Figure 3) through the circular openings 73, 731 or between the claw-shaped legs 741.

When the user considers that the quantity of varnish contained in the first compartment 6 is sufficient, he tilts the container in the opposite direction and the ball 72, 721 recaps the opening 73, 731. The varnish which has flowed into the first compartment 6 remains trapped in it. The user can then open the container, apply varnish with the brush 4 and proceed to make up the nails.
