- the bottom panel (2) is fixed to the surface of the pallet (14), however a slight edge (15) is left at the periphery of the bottom (2) to allow the support of the peripheral panels (3), (5) and (6). These panels thus surround the bottom (2) which blocks any folding of the side panels (5) and (6).

Abstract
Description
- L'invention est relative à une caisse de conditionnement repliable. Elle trouvera tout particulièrement son application dans l'industrie du bois ou du carton pour la réalisation d'emballages.
- De longue date, on connait l'utilisation de caisses qui permettent de regrouper et de protéger les produits disposés dans leur volume intérieur. Deux matériaux sont principalement utilisés pour la confection de caisses, il s'agit du carton ondulé et du bois.
- Le carton ondulé est moins coûteux que le bois mais présente une résistance inférieure, il offre cependant l'avantage de permettre une réalisation aisée d'arêtes de pliage en créant une zone de faiblesse rectiligne. Le bois n'a pas cette propriété de souplesse, ce qui garantit d'autant mieux les objets contenus des contraintes extérieures.
- On peut distinguer deux types de conditionnement, les emballages perdus et les emballages consignés avec retour. Alors qu'à une époque d'énergie peu coûteuse, les emballages perdus ont connu les faveurs des entreprises, avec le renchérissement de l'énergie et des matières premières, les emballages consignés connaissent un regain d'intérêt. En cette matière, le bois s'avère supérieur au carton.
- Lorsque la caisse est retournée vide chez le fournisseur, il est souhaitable qu'elle occupe un très faible volume pour minimiser le coût de transport. C'est ainsi que des caisses de conditionnement repliables ont vu le jour. Puisque ce type de caisses utilise des panneaux rigides, il est nécessaire de les munir de dispositifs d'articulation pour permettre le repliage des différents panneaux sur eux-mêmes.
- Jusqu'à présent, les charnières métalliques, du type charnière piano, sont utilisées. Ce type de charnière souffre néanmoins de plusieurs inconvénients. En particulier, elles ne sont pas étanches et donc les infiltrations d'eau peuvent parfaitement se produire au niveau des jointures. Ensuite, ces charnières sont longues à poser car elles nécessitent la mise en place de nombreuses vis ou clous de fixation. Elles sont en outre relativement onéreuses.
- L'utilisation de charnières métalliques augmente singulièrement le coût de fabrication des caisses de conditionnement repliables et en outre, elles constituent le point faible de la caisse car elles s'oxydent facilement et se corrodent. Leur remplacement ne peut, bien souvent, pas être envisagé étant donné que les vis, lors de leur première mise en place, détériorent le bois et qu'ainsi il n'est plus possible de revisser une seconde fois les vis d'une nouvelle charnière.
- Ces défauts freinent le développement des caisses de conditionnement repliables, ce qui est regrettable en raison des nombreux intérêts qu'elles présentent.
- Sur le plan de la manutention, pour faciliter le transport des caisses de conditionnement, généralement on place celles-ci sur une palette qui peut alors facilement être manoeuvrée à l'aide d'un chariot élévateur à fourches. L'absence de fixation de la caisse de conditionnement sur la palette est cependant gênante, car il peut se produire un glissement de la caisse sur la palette avec le risque de voir la caisse tomber. De plus, le gerbage doit être prohibé dans ces conditions en raison des dangers que présente l'instabilité de la pile d'éléments indépendants.
- Le but principal de la présente invention est de présenter une caisse de conditionnement repliable dont la fabrication est particulièrement économique en raison des composants utilisés.
- Cet abaissement du coût de fabrication se conjugue avec une amélioration de la qualité des charnières. En effet, ces dernières peuvent parfaitement subir les intempéries sans se détériorer et elles s'articulent sans point dur, avec grande facilité.
- Le cas échéant, le remplacement des charnières peut être effectué par un personnel non qualifié en très peu de temps sans à avoir à démonter précisément la charnière défectueuse. La longévité de la caisse n'est donc pas liée à celle des charnières.
- En outre, la caisse de conditionnement repliable de la présente invention présente une excellente étanchéité au niveau des jointures. Les produits disposés dans le volume intérieur de la caisse sont donc placés en parfaite sécurité.
- Une autre but de la présente invention est de présenter une caisse de conditionnement repliable qui puisse facilement être manipulée et gerbée. En particulier, les mêmes facilités de manutention sont offertes par la caisse de conditionnement de la présente invention que celles rencontrées avec les palettes traditionnelles. En outre, les caisses de conditionnement repliables de la présente invention peuvent être gerbées sans risque.
- D'autres buts et avantages de la présente invention apparaîtront au cours de la description suivante qui n'est cependant donnée qu'à titre indicatif et qui n'a pas pour but de la limiter.
- La caisse de conditionnement repliable, destinée à former un emballage pour la manutention de produits, ladite caisse de forme parallélépipédique étant formée d'un fond, d'un panneau frontal et arrière, de panneaux latéraux et d'un courvercle rabattable, est caractérisée par le fait que les panneaux sont articulés par des jointures souples.
- L'invention sera mieux comprise à la lecture de la description suivante accompagnée de dessins en annexe, parmi lesquels :
- - la figure 1 illustre la présentation extérieure de la caisse de conditionnement selon la présente invention,
- - les figures 2a, b, c, d schématisent les différentes phases du repliage de la caisse de conditionnement selon la présente invention,
- - la figure 3 illustre l'articulation du panneau arrière sur le fond lors de la phase de rangement de la caisse,
- - la figure 4 schématise l'articulation du panneau arrière sur le fond de la caisse lors de la formation de celle-ci,
- - la figure 5 schématise en vue de coupe l'articulation du couvercle sur le panneau arrière de la caisse de conditionnement,
- - la figure 6 représente un mode préférentiel de réalisation de la caisse de conditionnement selon la présente invention.
- La présente invention vise une caisse de conditionnement repliable. Elle trouvera notamment son application pour former un emballage en vue d'assurer le stockage et la protection de produits.
- Le matériau préconisé pour la confection de la caisse de conditionnement de la présente invention est le bois, néanmoins d'autres matières peuvent parfaitement être envisagées.
- En ce qui concerne les caisses repliables formées d'un assemblage de panneaux articulés, le point faible se situe précisément au niveau des charnières employées pour autoriser le repliage des panneaux.
- Les charnières de type "piano" utilisées sont coûteuses à poser, pas toujours faciles à articuler, sensibles à l'oxydation et très difficilement échangeables.
- La caisse de conditionnement (1), que concerne la présente invention, est illustrée à la figure 1. Elle est de forme extérieure parallélépipédique lorsqu'elle est montée et elle se compose d'un fond (2), d'un panneau frontal (3), d'un panneau arrière (4), de deux panneaux latéraux (5) et (6) et d'un couvercle rabattable (7).
- Selon l'invention, les différents panneaux sont articulés par des jointures souples (8). Il n'est plus fait appel aux traditionnelles charnières métalliques qui constituaient la faiblesse des caisses de conditionnement traditionnelles.
- Les jointures souples se présentent sous la forme de bandes de toile ou autres éléments continus tels que films plastifiés dont les bordures latérales sont fixées aux deux panneaux à articuler.
- Il s'agit d'une articulation dotée d'une grande souplesse de pliage et qui, en outre, le cas échéant, peut facilement être réparée puisqu'il s'agit simplement de poser une nouvelle bande de toile sur l'ancienne sans que cette dernière ait à être otée.
- De plus, en utilisant une bande de matériau souple et étanche, il est possible de réaliser des jointures étanches pour mettre à l'abri de l'humidité les objets disposés dans le volume intérieur de la caisse de conditionnement (1).
- La fixation préconisée pour les bandes de liaison sur les panneaux est le collage. En effet, une très grande résistance peut être obtenue par l'emploi de ce moyen de fixation qui, en outre, est très rapide de mise en oeuvre.
- Les différentes phases du repliage de la caisse de conditionnement selon la présente invention sont illustrées aux figures 2a, b, c, et d.
- La caisse (1) étant montée, telle qu'illustrée à la figure 2a, la première opération consiste à rabattre le couvercle (7) le long du panneau arrière (4).
- Ensuite, il faut dégager les panneaux périphériques (3), (5) et (6) du fond (2) de la caisse car, précisément, le fond (2) est encastré à l'intérieur des panneaux verticaux. Ce qui garantit la tenue de leur mise en forme.
- Il est nécessaire ensuite de replier les panneaux latéraux (5) et (6) qui sont réalisés en deux parties articulables sur elles mêmes telles qu'illustrées à la figure 2b. Ce repliage en accordéon permet de rabattre le panneau frontal (3) vers le panneau arrière (4).
- A l'issue de cette étape, on se retrouve dans la configuration présentée à la figure 2c et il est nécessaire de procéder alors au repliage de l'ensemble des panneaux périphériques (3), (4), (5) et (6) sur le fond (2).
- Il s'agit alors du repli intégral de la caisse de conditionnement (1) qui se présente alors sous la forme la plus réduite possible, telle qu'illustrée à la figure 2d. Elle est en effet formée alors du simple empilement des différents panneaux, d'où l'absence de tout volume mort.
- Pour atteindre cet objectif, une double jointure (9) couvrant quatre épaisseurs de panneaux est disposée entre le fond (2) et le panneau arrière (4).
- Cette double jointure (9) se compose d'une première articulation (10) réalisée entre le fond (2) et un élément longitudinal intermédiaire rigide (11) et d'une seconde seconde articulation (12) située entre le panneau arrière (4) et l'élément rigide intermédiaire (11). La largeur de l'élément longitudinal intermédiaire rigide (11) correspond au cumul des épaisseurs des panneaux frontal (3) et arrière (4) ainsi que de la double épaisseur des panneaux latéraux (5) ou (6).
- Lors du repliage de la caisse (1), l'élément longitudinal (11) se place le long des chants des panneaux énumérés précédemment, alors qu'en position montée, l'élément longitudinal (11) se situe dans le plan du panneau de fond (2).
- L'articulation du couvercle (7) sur le panneau arrière (4) est illustrée en vue de coupe à la figure 5. Une jointure souple de liaison (8) est mise en place entre les différents panneaux, sur leur face externe. Pour assurer une mise en place correcte du couvercle (7) lors de sa fermeture, on réalise un chanfrein (13) le long des chants de chacun des panneaux (4) et (7) en regard. Un chanfrein à 45° donne entière satisfaction.
- La figure 6 illustre un mode préférentiel de réalisation de la caisse de conditionnement (1) selon la présente invention. Selon cette conception, la caisse est jumelée à une palette (14) qui facilite la manutention de l'ensemble et autorise le gerbage.
- Le panneau (2) de fond est fixé à la surface de la palette (14), toutefois un léger rebord (15) est laissé à la périphérie du fond (2) pour permettre l'appui des panneaux périphériques (3), (5) et (6). Ces panneaux viennent ainsi ceinturer le fond (2) qui bloque tout repliage des panneaux latéraux (5) et (6).
- Cette fixation de la forme de la caisse (1) est d'ailleurs renforcée par la présence d'un rebord intérieur (16) disposé sur la surface interne du couvercle (7). Le rebord (16) étant destiné à venir encadrer intérieurement les panneaux périphériques (3), (5) et (6).
- D'autres mises en oeuvre de la présente invention, à la portée de l'Homme de l'Art, auraient pu être envisagées sans pour autant sortir du cadre de la présente invention.
