Description

The invention relates to a profile strip with a tread surface and a front panel for cladding renovation-requiring stairs.

The renovation of damaged or worn stairs is often countered by the difficulty that the individual steps cannot be replaced or can only be replaced with relatively great effort. To avoid this problem, the steps can also be provided with a new covering, in particular if the covering is a wooden covering, for example in the form of finished parquet, fastening means, for. B. remain visible in the form of screws, which are not only visually disturbing, but can also be a hindrance when cleaning the stairs.

The invention has for its object to provide a profile strip with a tread surface and a front facing, which is a problem in Allow staircases in need of renovation to be repaired by simply performing assembly work without the surface of the fasteners required for connection to the stairway being visible.

A profile strip solving this problem is characterized by an essentially rectangular angle profile, the one of which has a horizontally extending profile leg for contact and attachment to the step surface of the step and its second, vertically extending profile leg for contact and attachment to the front face of the step, and a longitudinal one of the profile edge connecting the two profile limbs to one another and arranged on their side facing away from the stair step, which has protrusions on its two longitudinal edges essentially projecting in the direction of the two profile limbs, overlapping the tread surface covering and the end face covering.

The progress achieved by the invention essentially consists in the fact that the prefabricated profile strip enables quick and easy assembly of the tread surface covering provided for the sheathing and of the end face covering. Since the profile strip with the angle profile is first attached to the stairway to be repaired and then the tread surface and the end face covering are pushed under the projections of the profile strip, these cover the fastening means necessary for fixing the profile strip.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the connection profile is formed by a right-angled angle profile, one leg of which is connected with its free end to the profile edge in such a way that it is aligned with the profile leg that is arranged to rest on the tread surface of the step and that the second leg is directed in the opposite direction to that to the plant on the step front side profile leg runs, the second leg carries at its free end a transversely arranged tread that protrudes on both sides of the leg and forms the projections.

The protrusion overlapping the end face can be formed by an oblique undercut of the footboard, the footer being rounded on its outer edge on the side facing the end face. This rounding forms the edge of the covered stair step and makes it easier to climb the stairs. At its free end, the profile leg carries a bar which projects parallel to the leg and which, on the side facing the leg, is tapered in a wedge shape towards its free end. This wedge-shaped bevel makes it easier, on the one hand, to insert the end face covering under the projection, and on the other hand, the end face of the strip is not visible from the front.

In order to increase the safety of the stairs when walking, the step bar can adjoin the rounding the area extending to the tread surface covering be provided with grooves running in the longitudinal direction of the tread bar.

The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing; the single figure shows the profile strip with the tread surface and the front facing according to the invention in a cross section.

In the drawing, the profile strip provided for the sheathing of a stair step in need of renovation, designated by the number 5, is identified by 1, the tread surface covering by 2 and the front facing by 3. The profile strip 1 consists essentially of a right-angled angular profile, one of which, in the drawing, horizontally extending profile leg 4 for contact and attachment to the step surface 5.1 of step 5 and its second, in the drawing, extending profile leg 6 for contact and attachment to the step end face 5.2 is set up. For this purpose, the profile legs 4, 6 are provided with a plurality of bores 7 arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the profile strip 1, through which the profile strip 1 can be screwed onto the step 5 to be renovated. Furthermore, the profile strip 1 has a connection profile 9 which runs along the profile edge 8 connecting the two profile legs 4, 6 and which is arranged on the side of the angle profile 4, 6 facing away from the stair step 5. This connection profile 9 points essentially in the direction of the two profile legs 4, 6 protruding projections 10, 11, which overlap the tread surface 2 and the front facing 3 on the edge.

In detail, the connection profile 9 is formed by a right-angled angle profile, one leg 12 of which is connected with its free end to the profile edge 8 such that it is aligned with the profile leg 4 set up for contact with the step surface 5.1 of the step 5. As a result, the profile leg 4 and the leg 12 form a common flat contact surface for the tread surface covering 2. The second leg 13 runs in the opposite direction to the profile leg set up for contact with the step end face 5.2 and carries a transversely arranged kick strip 14 at its free end 14 protrudes on both sides of the leg 13 and forms the protrusions 10, 11. The protrusion 11 overlapping the end face covering 3 is formed by an oblique undercut of the tread bar 14, so that the edge of the end face covering 3 engaging under the protrusion 11 is also wedge-shaped is. The other projection 10, on the other hand, forms a right-angled groove, so that the tread surface 2 is provided with a fold on its edge which engages under the projection. For the rest, the thickness of the tread surface covering 2 and the end face covering 3 is to be dimensioned such that the surface thereof is flush with the tread strip 14.

The tread bar 14 is rounded on the side facing the end face facing on its outer edge at 15.

The end face covering 3 can be screwed against the vertical profile leg 6, for example, in the area of the vertical profile leg 6 projecting downward over the stair step 5. However, if the step 5 has a greater height, so that screwing in this area is no longer possible, the profile leg 6, as shown in the drawing, can carry a strip 16 projecting parallel to the leg 12 at its free end. A screwing of the end face covering 3 from the bar 16 is thus possible, as indicated by the bore 17. To facilitate the assembly of the end face covering 3, the strip 16 on the side facing the leg 12 is tapered in a wedge shape towards its free end. As a result, the end face of the strip 16 is also not visible from the front.

Finally, the step bar 14 is provided in the region adjacent to the rounding 15 and extending to the step surface covering 2 with grooves 18 which run in the longitudinal direction of the step bar 14 and which reduce the risk of slipping when the stairs are climbed.
