Abstract

The method is relatively simple and cheap. The names which are to be stored are spoken by a subscriber and converted by a vocoder (14) into digital signals. These are stored in a semiconductor memory (13). The subscriber keys in the telephone numbers associated with the names by means of a keypad (10), which in each case transfers the selected telephone number in digitised form to the semiconductor memory. By pressing a key (17), the subscriber can retrieve the stored names successively from the semiconductor memory and have them announced by the decoder (14). If the subscriber hears the required name, he prompts the semiconductor memory (13) to supply the telephone number associated with the name by pressing a further key (19). <IMAGE>

Description

Stand der TechnikState of the art

The invention is based on a method according to the type of the main claim.

A telephone system is known in which frequently required multi-digit numbers are dialed using speed dialing. For example, the selection of a single digit from the digits 0 to 9 is sufficient to call a desired subscriber from ten different subscribers. However, if, for example, up to a hundred subscribers are to be differentiated, the calling subscriber must already dial two digits, which he must take from a directory in which the names of the subscribers and the associated speed dial digits are contained.

There is also a dialing method known (Funkschau, 1986, issue 15, page 48), in which, after the one-time storage of names and associated call numbers, the calling of a subscriber is triggered by the fact that only the name of the desired subscriber needs to be spoken, in which case a speech recognition circuit automatically recognizes the spoken name and triggers the transmission of the associated number. However, this process requires a high level of technical and economic effort.

Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention

The method according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage that the technical and economic outlay for implementation can be considerably reduced, in particular if the vocoder reduces the speech signals to a relatively small amount of data (for example 2.4 kbit / s) .

The measures listed in the subclaims permit advantageous developments and improvements of the method specified in the main claim. A method according to the invention is particularly advantageous in which each name stored as a digital signal is made audible automatically after being stored in the semiconductor memory or by pressing a key via the vocoder. This enables the participant to determine whether the name they have entered and saved is easy to understand or not. If speech intelligibility is insufficient, he repeats entering the name again.

Zeichnungdrawing

An exemplary embodiment for implementing the method according to the invention is shown in the drawing with reference to a single figure, which shows a block diagram.

Beschreibung der ErfindungDescription of the invention

In the figure, 10 denotes a dialing keypad with keys 11, which belongs, for example, to a radio telephone. The dialing keypad 10 is connected to an electronic control circuit 12, which is mutually connected to a semiconductor memory 13 and a vocoder 14. The control circuit 12 preferably includes five keys, for example a start key 15, a specifier key 16, a call key 17, a search key 18 and a call key 19. The vocoder 14 has an LF input 20 for a microphone 21 and an LF- Output 23 for a speaker 24. An output signal 25 of the semiconductor memory 13 is followed by a selection signal transmitter 26 which is connected to the modulation input of the transmission part of a radio transmitter and receiver 27. The radio telephone is preferably assigned an answering machine 28 which forwards announcements stored in the semiconductor memory 13 to the radio transceiver 27 via the vocoder 14 and with which received voice information is transmitted via the vocoder 14 and the control circuit 12 to the semiconductor memory 13. For this purpose, the semiconductor memory 13 must be dimensioned with respect to its available storage space in such a way that it can store not only the names and telephone numbers of the desired subscribers, but also the information from the answering machine mode.

Die vorstehend beschriebene Vorrichtung hat folgende Funktion. The device described above has the following function.

First, the radio subscriber must save the subscribers important to him with names and phone numbers. For this purpose, he speaks the first name into the microphone 21 after actuating the first key 15 (start key). The name is digitized by the vocoder 14 and stored in the semiconductor memory 13 after actuation of the second key 16 (memory key). The name stored in the semiconductor memory can then be made audible either automatically or after actuation of a third key 17 (call key) via the vocoder 14 with the loudspeaker 24. Only in the event that the reproduced name is difficult to understand, will the participant repeat the saving of the name.

If the first name is saved correctly, the subscriber enters the number belonging to the name into the dialing keypad 10 by pressing the corresponding keys 11, and the individual digits of the numbers are also digitally activated after pressing the second key 16 (memory key) the semiconductor memory 13 stored. The storage of name and phone number is preferably supplemented by a location number provided by the control circuit 12, which simplifies any re-sorting of names and phone numbers that may become necessary later and, if necessary, permits priority distribution; for example participants 1 ... 10 = very important, 11 ... 20 = important, 20 and ff. = less important participants. The subscriber then stores the second to nth names, each with the associated call number, in an analogous manner in the semiconductor memory 13. If all desired subscriber names and call numbers are then stored in the semiconductor memory, the radio subscriber has an acoustic subscriber directory available which he can "browse" by pressing the fourth key 18 (search key). In this case, preference is given to the fact that the leafing through can take place either forwards or backwards and at different speeds. Additional buttons may be required for this. The measures for leafing through the acoustic subscriber directory are familiar to the person skilled in the art from the technology of digital clocks. If the subscriber has heard the desired subscriber name in the loudspeaker 24 when calling up the subscriber directory, then he releases the fourth button 18. If he then presses the fifth key 19 (call key), the control circuit 12 causes the semiconductor memory 13 to belong to the name delivers digitized phone number at the output 25. The dialing signal transmitter 26 connected to the output 25 generates a call signal from the digital call number in accordance with the call method provided in the radio telephone system and forwards the call signal to the transmitting part of the radio transceiver 27.

In the exemplary embodiment described above, the keys 15 to 19 are additional keys to the dialing keyboard 10. The functions of the keys 15 to 19 can, if necessary, take over the keys 11 by double assignment.

For example, an LPC vocoder with a bit rate of 2.4 kbit / s is suitable as vocoder 14 and an E²PROM circuit as semiconductor memory.
