Abstract

Tufted, woven or knitted surface covering, consisting of a textile carrier formed from a nonwoven or from a fabric and of pile yarns which are knitted with metal filaments and needled into the carrier and which are tied in the carrier by means of a back coating, in which the textile carrier (1) has an imprint of soot and/or graphite and/or metal bound by means of a binder and of a grading curve of 10 microns to 2 mm, incorporated in or added to the carrier by surface carbonisation. In addition, the pile yarns (2) can be tied in the carrier (1) by means of a coating of a binder, for example resin, containing soot and/or graphite and/or metal. To produce a light- coloured surface covering, a light or colourable covering layer (5), for example a covering nonwoven, is needled onto the impregnated carrier. Metal filaments and/or carbon fibres can also pass through the impregnated carrier (1). In the production process, the textile carrier is first made and thereafter is impregnated by immersion in or spraying with a liquid containing the soot or the graphite or metal, whereupon the needling of the pile fibres and their tying in the carrier take place in a way known per se.

Description

The invention relates to a tufted, woven or knitted surface cladding made of a textile backing formed by a nonwoven or woven fabric and pile threads knitted with metal threads and / or carbon fibers, which are needled into the backing and integrated into the backing by means of a back coating.

The electrostatic charging of the tufted surface cladding, which essentially consists of plastic material, is still an unsatisfactorily solved problem. In order to eliminate or at least reduce it, it is known to at least partially thread piles through which the ply threads are interwoven with metal threads and to deposit the backing with a metal fabric before applying the backing coating that binds the piles in the carrier, with the aid of which after laying the ply covering - for example by means of screws - earthing is brought about. With the help of these known surface claddings, the electrostatic charge can be reduced insufficiently. This is due on the one hand to the fact that the electrical potential is only dissipated in the immediate vicinity of the isolated metal threads, but is retained in the other zones. The main reason for the insufficient derivation of the potential can be seen in the fact that to ensure sufficient involvement The pile threads in the carrier can only be used as a relatively wide-meshed metal mesh, so that conductive contact of the metal threads with the mesh is accidental and, accordingly, seldom, but the far larger part of the metal threads acted on remains ineffective.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a tufted surface covering with a surface and volume resistance that is uniformly low throughout the entire surface and in which the risk of electrostatic charging is thus practically completely avoided. The invention consists in that the textile carrier is provided with an imprint made of a conductive material bound by means of a binder.

The invention provides a textile tufted surface covering in which the carrier as a whole has a low surface resistance and thus a high conductivity, the pile threads being in direct conductive contact with the carrier with each needling. An electrostatic charge that forms is thus dissipated directly into the carrier fabric and can be grounded via the carrier fabric or carrier fleece.

Advantageously, the imprint consists of soot and / or graphite and / or metal with a sieve line of 10 .mu.m to 2 mm. to the wearer. are attached, whereby for further improvement pile threads on the one hand in addition to the interpretation of the textile Carrier fabric or Carrier fleece in the carrier by means of a coating of a binder filled with carbon black and / or graphite and / or metal, for example resin. integrated and / or metal threads can be incorporated into the carrier. To produce a light-colored surface cladding, a light bezw is advantageously on the impregnated carrier. dyeable cover layer, for example a cover fleece, needled.

The tufted surface cladding according to the invention is advantageously produced in such a way that the textile backing is first produced and, if appropriate, mechanically, chemically or thermally solidified, and then the imprint is immersed in or sprayed with the soot. the liquid containing graphite or metal in or. is incorporated or attached to the textile backing, whereupon the pile fibers are needled and integrated into the backing in a manner known per se. A resin dispersion with high binding and molecular kinetic forces is advantageously used as the immersion bath or spray liquid.

The invention is explained below with reference to the accompanying drawing, for example.

The tufted surface covering shown in the drawing consists of a textile backing 1 formed by a nonwoven in the example and web threads 2 knitted with metal threads, which are needled into the backing 1 and integrated into the backing by means of a back coating. The textile backing 1 is made of a conductive material Provide material, which is preferably formed of soot and / or graphite and / or metal powder with a sieve line of 10 .mu.m to 2 mm and by surface carbonation or by means of a binder, for example a resin, in or. to the wearer. is attached. In the example, to further increase the conductivity, the pile threads 2 are integrated in the carrier 1 by means of a coating 4 which, in a manner corresponding to the interpretation, consists of a binder filled with carbon black and / or graphite and / or metal and on which the pile threads already contain Carrier 1 is applied. A further layer 3 of latex or polyurethane foam corresponding to the usual back coating is applied to layer 4.

In the example shown, a light-colored cover layer 5, for example a cover fleece, is needled onto the impregnated support, but this is unnecessary in the case of producing a dark-colored surface covering. The grounding is carried out by screwing the surface cladding against a building-fixed circuit board 8 at any non-disturbing point by means of a screw 6, optionally underlaid with a metal washer, the removal of a non-conductive (insulating) back coating not being necessary. It suffices for sufficient dissipation and thus to prevent the build-up of a voltage simply by the contact of the screw and, if appropriate, the washer with the metal threads in the pile with the conductive carrier 8.
