Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kreissäge gemäß Oberbegriff von Anspruch 1. Eine solche Kreissäge ist durch die DE-B-1202964 bekannt. The invention relates to a circular saw according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a circular saw is known from DE-B-1202964.

Although the riving knife must normally be present for the safety of the operator, there is occasionally a need to remove the riving knife for certain jobs. So e.g. in the production of cutouts in plate-shaped workpieces, the saw blade having to be immersed in the workpiece from the surface. Or if you have to saw backwards on certain occasions.

In these cases, the riving knife would prevent the desired working movement and must therefore be removed. When using the circular saw for normal sawing work, the riving knife would have to be reattached. However, this is often forgotten or omitted for convenience so that the operator can be seriously endangered and injured by kickback workpieces.

For the production of cutouts on a stationary saw without hindrance by the riving knife, FR-A-2 087 454 proposed to arrange the riving knife on a cover plate which is pivotally attached to the protective hood of the saw. In this arrangement, however, there is no compulsory tracking of the riving knife, which only partially covers the saw blade to the rear and is therefore unusable when used with hand-held circular saws.

In another known table saw according to US-A-2 518 684, the riving knife is moved together with the saw blade against spring action. However, no tracking device designed as a quadrangular joint is provided, so that the position between the riving knife and the saw blade changes continuously.

The object of the invention is to design the circular saw of the type under consideration so that the riving knife can perform a pivoting movement that is independent of the forced tracking when the saw blade is pivoted and is able to automatically return to its protective position.

This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The riving knife is pivoted behind the contact surface against the action of a restoring force when the saw blade is immersed in the workpiece and slides into the slot created by the saw blade during further forward sawing. This ensures that the required riving knife is available for further sawing work and that the operator cannot be endangered.

The circular saw designed in this way thus has at least one additional degree of freedom in the quadrilateral joint. In one embodiment, this additional degree of freedom is formed in that the second rocker of the four-bar linkage has a length that can be changed against a restoring force. In a second embodiment, a bearing of the four-bar linkage is designed to be movable.

In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, a releasable locking between the riving knife and circular saw can be provided, which prevents the free relative movement between the riving knife and the highest point of the saw blade in the locking position. This means that the additional degree of freedom can be eliminated and the riving knife remains in its position at the highest point of the saw blade. To use such a circular saw for plunge work, the lock must be released so that the riving knife can swing back behind the platen. If the riving knife then slides into the saw slot when sawing further, it can be provided that the locking mechanism engages automatically and must be released again the next time it is immersed. It can also be provided that the riving knife without a restoring force, e.g. Spring, weight, magnetic or hydraulic, can be adjusted by hand and locked at the end points.

The riving knife according to the invention has the advantage that it can be attached to portable circular saws as well as to stationary table saws.

Der höchste Punkte 21 von Sägeblatt 17 überragt den Spaltkeil 20 um einen bestimmten Betrag.1 to 3 schematically show hand-held circular saws with a pivotably mounted motor mount and tracking device for the riving knife, various exemplary embodiments for the movement of the riving knife being shown. The first rocker arm 15 of a motor housing 16 is pivotably mounted on a support plate 11 with a support flange 12 on a bearing 13 or 14 for adjusting the cutting height of the saw blade 17. A riving knife carrier 19 is pivotally mounted on the motor housing 16 concentrically to the axis 18 of the saw blade 17, on which a riving knife 20 is removably fastened. The highest point 21 of saw blade 17 projects beyond riving knife 20 by a certain amount.

The riving knife carrier 19 is designed as an angle lever, on the carrier arm 22 of which the riving knife 20 is fastened and the other arm of which Coupling 23 forms, on the joint 24 a second rocker 25 (Fig. 1) or 26 (Fig. 3 and 4) is pivotally attached. Swing arms 25 and 26 are connected at their other end to the support plate 11 via joints 27, 28 and 29, respectively.

The imaginary connecting line between the joints 13-27, 14-28 and 13-29 form in a known manner with the driven first rocker 15, the coupling 23 and the second rocker 25 and 26, a quadrilateral joint, which when the motor housing 16 is pivoted to Adjustment of the cutting height of the saw blade 17 tracks the riving knife 20 so that the determined distance between the highest point 21 and the riving knife remains constant. As shown in FIG. 1, in order to achieve a further degree of freedom, the second rocker 25 has a sleeve 30 which is pivotably attached to the joint 27. A rod 31 is slidably mounted in sleeve 30, a compression spring 34 being arranged between a plate 32 of rod 31 and an end wall 33 of sleeve 30. Rod 31 is pivotally connected to the joint 24 and plate 32 is pressed in the rest position by compression spring 34 against the other end wall 35 of sleeve 30.

The arrangement shown in Fig. 1 ensures the tracking of the riving knife 20 when adjusting the cutting height. If the circular saw is used for plunge sawing, the riving knife 20 is pivoted from the surface of the workpiece against the action of the compression spring 34 into the position shown in broken lines in FIG. 1. After a sawing gap has been formed, the compression spring 34 automatically guides the riving knife 20 into this sawing gap.

In Fig. 2, the joint 28 is not connected to the support plate 11, but is pivotally connected to an intermediate member 36 with the bearing 14 attached to the support plate 11. A tension spring 37 is fastened between the intermediate member 36 and the bracket 38 of the support plate 11 and pulls the intermediate member 36 against a stop cam 39 of the bracket 38. Also in this embodiment, the riving knife 20 can be pivoted when immersed in the direction of the support surface 12 and returns automatically after the formation of a sawing gap his rest position back.

Bei gelöster Flügelmutter 44 erlaubt die verschiebbare Lagerung von Gelenk 29 in Schlitz 40 eine Verschwenkung des Spaltkeils 20 in Richtung Auflagefläche 12 beim Eintauchen von Sägeblatt 17.As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, in these exemplary embodiments the joint 29 is mounted in an arcuate slot 40 in a bracket 41 of the support plate 11. In this case, a collar bolt 43 engages in a bore 42 of the rocker arm 26, which is slidably mounted in the slot 40 and can be clamped to the bracket 41 with a wing nut 44. In this embodiment, the additional degree of frieze can thus be eliminated by an intervention by the operator and the movement of the riving knife can be restricted to the tracking movement. When the wing nut 44 is loosened, the displaceable mounting of the joint 29 in the slot 40 allows the riving knife 20 to be pivoted in the direction of the support surface 12 when the saw blade 17 is immersed.

A modification of the embodiment shown in FIG. 2 is shown in FIG. 5. The bearing 14 is designed as a double joint on which both the first rocker arm 15 for which the motor housing 16 and the intermediate member 36 are pivotably mounted.

The intermediate member 36 is fastened to a bearing pin 45 which is rotatably mounted in the bracket 38 and with which a setting wheel 47 is fixedly connected with a pin 46. A helical spring 48 is arranged between the adjusting wheel 47 and the bracket 38 and holds the intermediate member 36 in the rest position shown in FIG. 2 via the bearing pin 45.

A locking pin 50 is slidably mounted in a bore 49 of the adjusting wheel 47. It has two grooves into which a spring-loaded ball 52 engages, the adjusting wheel 47 being freely rotatable in the release position of locking bolts 50 and the locking bolt 50 engaging in a locking position in a bore 53 in console 38 and thus adjusting wheel 47 with console 38 locked up. In this locking position, the additional degree of freedom of riving knife 20 is canceled again.

The use of the riving knife described in a stationary table saw is shown in FIG. 6. On a bracket 54 of the support table 55, a first rocker 57 of the motor housing 58 with a saw blade 59 is pivotably mounted on a bearing 56 again. The riving knife 60 is detachably fastened to an arm of a riving knife carrier 61, the other arm of which forms a coupling 62 of a four-bar linkage, which is supplemented by a second rocker arm 63, which corresponds to the second rocker arm 25 of FIG. 1 and on the joint 64 of the bracket 54 and Joint 65 of coupling 62 is pivotally mounted.

Stationary table saws are usually provided with a protective hood that can be pivotally attached to the end of riving knife 60. This protective hood must be removed to use the riving knife described. When a workpiece 66 is folded, the riving knife 60 then assumes the position shown in solid lines in FIG. 6, while it returns to the rest position shown in dash-dot lines after the workpiece has been lifted off.
