Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a housing with a pressure switch for electrical devices, in particular for hand-held and guided devices such as electric erasers, electric toothbrushes or the like.
In order to be able to operate switches as simply and conveniently as possible, it is desirable to design the switch handle as large as possible. That is why light switches often have a switch handle that covers the entire surface of the light switch. These light switches are mostly designed as toggle switches, since they do not have the problem of tilting the switch handle. The problem of tilting the switch handle occurs particularly when you want to provide the smallest possible housing opening in electrical devices for constructional reasons and the switch handle is nevertheless designed to be so large that it extends far beyond the housing opening on all sides.
Durch die EP-B1-0 001 302 bereits eine Gehäuseausbildung zum Stand der Technik nach Art. 54(3) EPÜ bei der auf der Innenseite einer perforierten Gehäusewand im Bereich eines elektrischen Schalters eine Folie vorgesehen ist, die partiell mit der Gehäusewand verklebt ist, wobei die Folie einseitig mit hervorstehenden noppen- oder zungenartigen Vorsprüngen versehert-ist, die sich durch Perforationen hindurcherstrecken und im Bereich des im Gehäuseinneren angeordneten Schalters verschiebbar sind, um ein Auswölben der Folie und damit eine Betätigung des Schalters zu gestatten.EP-B1-0 001 302 already provides a housing design according to the state of the art according to Art. 54 (3) EPC in which a film is provided on the inside of a perforated housing wall in the area of an electrical switch, which is partially glued to the housing wall, wherein the film is provided on one side with protruding nub-like or tongue-like projections which extend through perforations and are displaceable in the area of the switch arranged inside the housing in order to allow the film to bulge out and thus to actuate the switch.
The invention has for its object to form the knob or tongue-like projections in the area of the switch handle of different lengths in a housing of this type without this being immediately visible from the outside of the housing. In particular, the housing should be designed in the area of the switch handle so that it protrudes as little as possible from the outer surface of the housing so that the switch is not inadvertently actuated when the device is resting on a base.
This object is achieved in that the housing wall has an inward dent. With such a design, the pressure switch area can be easily recognized even if the housing of the electrical device also has knobs for reasons of optics or good haptics. Furthermore, this embodiment makes it possible to provide relatively long knobs in the area of the pressure switch, so that a large displacement path is available for the actuation of the switch member without the knobs protruding beyond the outer contour of the device.
Finally, in this embodiment, the switch handle presses the fingers against a large number of knobs, a comparatively large outer surface of the housing being available for actuating the pressure switch, while the required perforations as the sum of the surfaces of the individual knobs are relatively small overall. Due to the large number of knobs touched by the finger at the same time, a particularly soft switch actuation is possible, the contact area between the actuating finger and knobs being relatively small, so that sweating of the finger when the switch is actuated is counteracted.
The grid module of the knobs of a switch handle can be designed corresponding to the grid module of the rest of the housing, so that the switch handle adapts well to the housing.
Due to the elasticity of the film or plate of the switch handle, it can move back into its old position without additional springs when the knobs are released. In addition, due to their elasticity, the knobs can be sealingly guided through the perforations of the housing wall, so that the switch handle is completely tight and there is no risk of dirt or moisture penetrating into the electrical device.
The switch handle can be actuated with particularly little force if the film or plate has a smaller wall thickness in the region of the dent which occurs when the switch is actuated than in the rest of the region.
The invention permits numerous embodiments. One of them is shown schematically in the drawing and is described below.
The housing shown has a housing wall 1 made of a rigid material. This housing wall 1 has a multiplicity of

If the user no longer depresses the
In the embodiment shown, the housing wall 1 has a dent 8, in which the
Below the film or plate 4 there is a
