Description

The invention relates to a bar-shaped detergent, in particular soap, which is buoyant, consisting of a detergent body, whose specific weight is greater than 1, and a plastic body attached to it.

In the case of conventional soaps which cannot float, it is perceived as disadvantageous that the soap bars sink into the water and it is therefore difficult to find the soap bars again. If the soap bars remain in the water for longer during the search, they will dissolve faster than with normal use, so that the soap consumption increases.

It has long been known to make soap bars floatable by reducing air bubbles, hollow bodies or other light bodies introduced into the soap mass during manufacture to a specific weight of the soap bar to a value below 1, so that a floating soap is obtained. In a known bar-shaped soap of the type mentioned (DE-GM 1 797 349), a cup-shaped or bowl-shaped insert made of plastic is attached in a recess of the soap body in such a way that the opening of the insert faces the soap body, so that between the insert and the recess an air-filled cavity is created which makes the soap bar floatable.

In the known floating soap, the insert made of plastic has to be pressed into the recess of the soap body for fastening, either the edges of the recess having to be pressed against the insert or the insert being anchored in the recess with its outwardly bent edges. The operations required for this in the production are relatively complex. If the soap body is so worn by use that water can penetrate into the cavity at some point, the soap loses its buoyancy and very soon detaches from the insert. The soap scraps quickly break up into small pieces and can no longer be used up. Even if the soap body is only relatively little worn, there is still the risk that when handling the soap, the tight connection of the soap body with the insert is loosened at least at one point or that the soap body is pressed in.

The object of the invention is therefore to provide a bar-shaped detergent of the type mentioned, which allows the detergent body to be completely used up with a simple production possibility, without the detergent body detaching from the plastic body and without the bar-shaped detergent losing its ability to float.

This object is achieved in that the plastic body consists of closed-pore plastic foam and is permanently adhered to the detergent body by means of an adhesive. Since the buoyancy is brought about by the closed cavities of the plastic foam, there is no danger that water will penetrate into these cavities during use. The buoyancy is therefore retained during use. Since the connection between the plastic body and the detergent body is not made by mechanical anchoring but by an adhesive, this connection remains in place until the detergent body is completely used up.

No parts of the detergent body fall off, even if water gets into the area of the connection between the plastic body and detergent body in the course of progressive use.

The manufacture is very simple because it is sufficient to connect the plastic body with the detergent body with the adhesive mass interposed, which can already happen, for example, when the bar-shaped detergent or soap is pressed. A mechanical anchoring of the plastic body, which would require the use of certain deformation forces during manufacture, is not necessary. The detergent body can also be connected to the plastic body in a simple manner after it has been shaped.

The attached to the detergent body plastic body has the additional advantage that the piece-shaped detergent can be placed on this plastic body without slipping easily on smooth, wet and / or slightly inclined surfaces, such as bathtub edges, as is the case with conventional soap bars. The plastic body also improves the grip and manageability of the detergent or soap bar; the plastic body can be used as an additional cleaning aid for rubbing. For this purpose, it is particularly advantageous if the plastic body is structured or grooved on its outside.

A floating soap is known (DE-OS 26 06 902), in which a plastic body, the specific weight of which is significantly less than 1, is embedded in an outer surface of the soap bar. The plastic body is attached using a film on the outside. In this case, however, there is no adhesive between the plastic body and the soap body, so that the soap cannot be used up completely. As soon as the soap body is partially used up and If water penetrates into the area between the plastic body and the soap body, the plastic body detaches from the soap body because the film can no longer develop a holding effect.

It is also known (DE-OS 26 51 276) to provide soap bars with a brush insert, the soap body having a continuous, stepped bore, into each of which an insert half is inserted from both sides, which are locked together. This type of connection of a soap body with plastic parts requires a relatively large amount of work in the production; moreover, no floating soap is achieved. There is no provision for an adhesive that would ensure a permanent connection between the insert parts and the soap body until the soap body is completely used up.
