Abstract

The installation for decoding the position of a symbol or group of symbols appearing on a part moving relative to a reference, when the said moving part is at rest or in motion, comprises, for each moving part, one or more proximity detectors (A, E) which are fixed relative to the said reference (R), itself fixed relative to the frame of the installation, whereas the abovementioned moving part carries, opposite certain symbols or groups of symbols (1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 14, 19, 20), a region of a specified material whose presence can be signalled by the abovementioned proximity detectors (A - E). <IMAGE>
