The frame for a sliding door or window has a main frame wit a slidable carriage (4) to receive a door leaf (T) and a receiving profile for the leaf. It has an inner and an outer seal for the receiving profile. An insulation divides the main frame inner and outer sections (1,2). An intermediate frame section (3) is insulated from the inner and outer frame sections b the insulation or seal.
