The bathtub (2) has its interior illuminated using light sources (1) incorporated in the bath wall at spaced points, each using one or more LED's of similar or different type. The LED's may provide light in the red, green and blue spectral range, for providing light of each color of the visible spectrum, with simultaneous and/or individual control of the different LED's.
