BESCHREIBUNGDESCRIPTION

zweilumiger Fangkorbkatheterdouble-lumen basket catheter

Basket catheters are widely used and generally accepted in medicine, especially in interventional radiology, for the extraction of foreign bodies or concretions from vascular systems, e.g. blood vessels, bile ducts.

However, the use of these catheters is limited in vessels that are difficult to probe because during extraction the entire catheter system always has to be removed from the vessel and therefore often only a single extraction attempt can be made.

Ein weiterer Vorteil ist, daß jederzeit über das zweite Lumen Medikamente oder Kontrastmittel appliziert werden können, die zum Beispiel bei der Lokalisation des zuHowever, with the current invention, a guide wire can be pushed through the second lumen as a placeholder to the target point, which can be used as a guide rail if another attempt is required and guides the basket catheter to the target position. Another advantage is that medication or contrast media can be administered at any time through the second lumen, for example to help localize the area to be treated.

To ensure that the puncture of the collecting basket is not hindered by the wire, the exit hole of the second lumen is located laterally proximal to the basket ( Fig. 2). In addition, the wire should only be advanced in the second lumen when the collecting basket is closed ( Fig. 3).

The following application example should clarify the facts and the purpose of the invention: During cholecystectomies, so-called bile T-drains are routinely left in the ductus choledochus. If, contrary to expectations , bile duct stones are still found in the ductus choledochus postoperatively, they can be extracted using a basket catheter system after replacing the T-drain. However, only one stone can be extracted in this way because the entire catheter system has to be removed during extraction. The invention makes it possible to place the basket catheter in the target area again using a wire inserted through the second lumen as a guide rail and to carry out extraction attempts as often as desired on any number of remaining stones.
