Description
Process for the production of an investment material for the insulation of the heating conductors electrical heaters The invention relates to a method of manufacture an embedding compound for insulating the heat conductors of electrical heating devices. For this one uses inorganic powdery, refractory substances, which mostly in a slightly humidified state in the housing: e of the heating devices, for example the Cast lids of the stove tops, pressed in or pressed around the heating wires. Since these substances at temperatures up to the middle red heat over a proportionately Only a few fireproof materials are used to provide high-quality insulation with a small layer thickness as an isolating agent.
The substance most frequently used for this is magnesium oxide. While the compressed magnesium oxide has excellent insulating properties in the heat, it has the other disadvantageous property of removing moisture from the air when it is cold to tighten, which improves the insulation quality of the heater when it is left unheated for a long time Remaining in damp rooms is very noticeably reduced.
It has also been proposed to use soapstone, ie natural, high-silica, magnesium silicate - partly in the raw, but also in the burned-up or pre-burned state as an insulating agent. Burnt soapstone does not have a water-binding capacity, but its insulating capacity in the heat is not as high as that of pure magnesium oxide, for example. In the process. According to the invention, artificial magnesium orthosilicate to which kaolin, clay or raw soapstone are added for plasticization in a manner known per se is now used in accordance with the invention to produce an embedding compound for insulating the heat conductors of electrical heating devices. An artificial magnesium silicate can also be used as an isolating agent - verden, which is richer in magnesia than soapstone and poorer or richer in magnesia than forsterite. These isolating agents can be obtained in different ways. By sintering together a mixture of magnesium oxide and soapstone mold, also of magnesium oxide and silicic acid, substances are obtained in which, on the one hand, the magnesia is so chemically bound that it no longer reacts to water; On the other hand, the magnesium oxide component continues to increase the insulating capacity of the sub-stan.z in the heat.
It is not necessary to precisely match the composition to the mixture of the orthosilicate, you can stay a little below with the magnesia content than going beyond.
