Description

Arrangement for the suppression of large short-circuit currents in electrical Networks To the occurrence of a large current in an electrical network in the event To avoid its short circuit, it is known in an upstream of the network Protective apparatus, for example a choke coil, to induce an EMF, which the applied mains voltage is in the opposite direction. Such a protective apparatus but increases the investment costs considerably, especially if it is sufficient Should have protective effect, because it is then relatively large.

According to the invention, a special protective apparatus is avoided. To this Purpose, the transformer connected upstream of the network itself is used as a protective device. An asynchronous machine is advantageous as a protective device and at the same time as a network transformer used, the armature winding of which represents the secondary winding of the transformer and serves to feed the network. A suitable device ensures that that the armature is at rest as long as the normal operating current flows, and that it rotates when there is a short circuit in the line to be protected, so that in the secondary winding of the transformer an EMF is induced, which is something like this as large as the secondary voltage when the machine is at a standstill and this voltage Cent_ is directed opposite. This creates a large short-circuit current prevented. After eliminating the short circuit, the armature is back in its brought old rest position. An arrangement according to the invention can also be used to facilitate the operational connection and disconnection of the network.

The invention has the advantage that large short-circuit currents occur in an electrical network without the use of a special protective device is prevented.
