Die Spielplatte A ist in ein regelmäfsiges Quadrat geformt und mit der gewöhnlichen Bande umrahmt; entlang dieser Bande oder in den Ecken sind keine Löcher; in dieser Hinsicht gleicht dieser Tisch den gegenwärtigen Caramboltischen. Gerade in der Mitte der Decke ist jedoch der Tisch durchlöchert, so dafs die Kugel durch diese Oeffnung C leicht hindurchgeht. Am Boden D des Tisches ist ein zweiter Boden E angebracht, dessen gegen die Decke α des Tisches gewendete Fläche sich von den Seitenwänden von allen Seiten gleichmäfsig gegen die Mitte des Tisches hebt, d. h. die obere Fläche dieses Bodens E ist einer gröfseren Kugelhaube gleich, die gegen die Seiten des Tisches gleichmäfsig sich neigt. Der Mittelpunkt des Bodens E fällt gerade vertical unter die Mitte der Oeffnung C; wenn sonach die Kugel durch diese Oeffnung auf den Boden jE" fällt, so mufs die Kugel in irgend einer Richtung gegen die Seitenwände des Tisches unbedingt herunterrollen. Am Boden E, und zwar an den angrenzenden Theilen der Tischseiten, sind von jeder Seite zwei Theilungswände G angebracht, die gegen die Mitte in eine Spitze zusammenlaufen und somit ein Dreieck bilden; aufserdem sind die Spitzen der Wände H auch gegen die Mitte des Billardtisches gerichtet. Die Kugel ist gezwungen, an eine dieser Scheidewände anzustofsen und neben der Wand abwärts zu gleiten. Zwischen den Scheidewänden G G und HG ist sowohl der Boden D als auch der Boden E in der Form eines länglichen Vierecks ausgeschnitten; auf jeder Seite des Tisches, an drei, somit zusammen an zwölf Stellen und in diese Oeffnungen des Bodens E, ist eine passende Klappe J eingesetzt; diese Klappe ist durch ein Gelenk K an dem Boden D befestigt, und am Ende desselben ist ein schalenförmiger Behälter L angebracht. Sobald die Kugel auf die Klappe bezw. auf den Behälter L rollt, drückt sie durch ihr eigenes Gewicht die Klappe nieder, und die Kugel erscheint in dem Behälter L an der Seite des Tisches. Mit derselben Bewegung hebt sich der andere Theil / der Klappe, und nachdem die Klappe aus ihrer horizontalen Lage in die verticale kommt, stöfst sie auf ihrem Wege auf den Schieber M, welcher, vordrängend, ein keilförmiges Prisma N vorstöfst, das mit seinem unteren Ende mittelst eines Gelenkes O an der Bande befestigt ist. Da dieses Prisma vorfällt, stöfst es am oberen Ende der Bande eine kleine Tafel P heraus, die eine Nummer trägt, und zeigt, auf welche Klappe der Ball gerollt ist. Wenn nun der Ball mit der Hand aus dem Behälter L herausgenommen wird, hört der Druck von J auf den Schieber M auf und so auch auf das Prisma N.
