Description

Diese Erfindung betrifft einen SIM-Kartenadapter für GSM-Tele­ fone, der aus einer Karte besteht, in die eine SIM-Steckkarte (Plug in-SIM-Karte) dergestalt eingefügt werden kann, daß sich eine IC-card-SIM-Karte ergibt.This invention relates to a SIM card adapter for GSM tele fone, which consists of a card into which a SIM card (Plug in SIM card) can be inserted in such a way that results in an IC card SIM card.

In GSM-Telefonen können zweierlei verschiedene SIM-Karten ver­ wendet werden: die SIM-Steckkarte und die IC-card-SIM-Karte. Elektrisch und funktionell gesehen gleichen sich diese beiden Kartenarten völlig. Im Prinzip erfolgt die Herstellung der SIM- Steckkarte durch Abschneiden (Stanzen) des überschüssigen Pla­ stikmaterials von der IC-card-SIM-Karte. Mit der Erfindung soll ein neuartiger Kartenadapter geschaffen werden, der in beiden genannten GSM-Telefonen funktioniert. Für den erfindungsgemäßen SIM-Kartenadapter ist charakteristisch, daß der Kartenadapter, in den die SIM-Steckkarte eingefügt werden kann, aus einer kre­ ditkartengroßen Karte besteht, in die, d. h. zwischen deren obe­ ren und unteren Fläche, die SIM-Steckkarte in eine dafür vor­ gesehene Stelle so eingefügt werden kann, daß ihre Kontakte in die im Kartenadapter befindliche Öffnung zu liegen kommen. Mit diesem Adapter kann auf einfache Weise die SIM-Steckkarte von einem Telefon (Handtelefon) auf ein anderes Telefon (z. B. Auto­ telefon), bei dem SIM-Karten von Kreditkartenformat verwendet werden, übertragen werden.
