Abstract

The three-dimensional imaging system uses a number of differing partial images provided in successive projection layers lying at different distances from the observer. The partial images are directed onto the successive in a rapid sequence, so that they appear simultaneous to the observer, to provide an overall image. Pref. the successive partial images are provided by nematic or ferromagnetic liquid crystal layers, allowing transparency of the layers which are not being utilised. ADVANTAGE - Simple three-dimensional imaging system.

Description

The creation of spatial images is already done by various Proposals have been announced. Either from the separate mapping of those required for spatial vision different drawing files in the eyes of the beholder or different drawing files for foreground and background due to rapid mechanical movement of the projection surface are generated one after the other in the viewing direction, by using the inertia to create a spatial image impression merge.

In contrast, the invention is based on several in a row arranged projection surfaces, on the slices of a certain spatial distance in rapid succession be projected. This does not remain for the current partial image used projection surfaces translucent, so transparent for the time of the image behind it. The the technical design required for this is sufficient achieved thin layers of nematic crystals (LCD), where in multiplex control the pixels in the respective Projection screen itself. The one for the movement impression over several larger picture areas connected in series required switching speed is ferromagnetic instead of the hitherto usual nematic liquid crystals. 2-3 are sufficient to generate the spatial image impression itself in a row at a distance of approx. 1/50 of the area width standing crystal surfaces.
