Abstract

For mnemonic purposes a mechanically or electrically operated signal generator is fitted to a watch or a clock. It generates a luminous or flashing signal immediately after switching, or at a preset delay, thus forming an optical alarm clock. The signal is in continuous or intermittent operation until the generator is switched off. The electric system uses either light emitting diodes or a liquid crystal display. In a mechanical system, a coloured symbol appears in the watch, or clock dial, again permanently or intermittently. The optical signal thus replaces the conventional acoustic signals, which enhances its use in a church, theatre, or a conference hall. After switching on, the permanent signal continuously reminds the user of the event to be observed.

Description

Betr.: Patentbeschreibung ( "mnemotechnisches Signal an Uhren" ) Patentbeschreibung: Das mnemotechnische Signal ( in. 8. Re: patent description ("mnemonic signal to clocks") Patent description: The mnemonic signal (in. 8.) for clocks is intended for the user a clock to remind you of plans and appointments after switching it on. The mn. 8th. is an optical signal and is displayed on the face of the clock (e.g. dial or housing) visible after actuating a switch. The signal lights up continuously or intermittently until it is turned off.

The variation of the interruption frequency of the an. 5. and the attachment several signals allow coding of the content of the mn. S. to.

In the technical version, the signal consists of either one mechanical apparatus or an electrical system (e.g.

B. Light-emitting diode -LED- or liquid crystal display -LCD-) The representation of the signal in the mechanical version takes place in such a way that a colored Symbol (e.g. point, line, circle) continuously or with interruptions in a window the face of the watch, similar to a date display, appears.

Colored in this context means that the signal is in contrast for the color design of the face of the clock.

The representation of the in. 5. in the electrically operated version takes place in such a way that an electrical light signal (e.g. LED or LCD) is permanent or iit appears on the face of the watch with an interruption.

The progress of this invention is based on the fact that in. 5. on clocks so far only exist as acoustic signals. Acoustic signals have the disadvantages that they 1. can be a nuisance (e.g. church services, theater performances, Conferences) and 2.

The operation of the optical signal is more economical in terms of energy requirements and can therefore last longer continuation "Patent description" (mn.): To be maintained longer than with the acoustic Signal0 Furthermore, the optical signal is cheaper to produce than an acoustic one mnemonic signal.

In summary, the mode of action of the mnO S. can be summarized as follows describe: the user of a watch wants to participate in a project (zOBo Telephonat, a Shopping or a promise) and therefore switches the signal on. Every time the user looks at the watch, they are reminded of what they are doing, as it were through the familiar knot in the handkerchief. The possible variation one signal allows different signals to be used for different projects With analog dials, each digit or each set of digits can be assigned a signal assign so that the nin. 5. Associated with a specific time can be in the sense of an "optical alarm clock" O Also mnO S.

anstelle der Ziffern oder des Zifferersatzes treten.take the place of the digits or the replacement of digits.
