Saugkörper, insbesondere für Hygieneprodukte, wie Binden, Tampons, Windeln und Verbandsmaterial, wie Wundkompressen, oder dergleichenAbsorbent bodies, in particular for hygiene products such as sanitary towels, tampons, diapers and dressing materials such as wound compresses or the like
The invention is directed to an absorbent body, in particular for hygiene products, such as sanitary napkins, tampons, diapers and dressing materials, such as wound compresses, or the like made of cellulose.
An important requirement for such products is that they must be very comfortable to wear and be well tolerated by the skin, with a very high absorbency. Since such products must be disposed of as waste after use, there has recently been an increasing demand for them to be as biodegradable as possible, so that such products should preferably be compostable.
In terms of absorption capacity, chemical superabsorbent materials have been developed which, although they have exceptionally good absorption capacity, are not satisfactory in terms of their degradability.
For this purpose, it is known from DE 41 22 359 C2 to combine absorbent materials with high absorption and retention capacity for body fluids of plant origin with chemical substances that absorb liquids to a high degree and to surround them with coverings, in particular of plant origin.
5Although such a solution represents a certain progress, it suffers from the aforementioned disadvantage that chemical absorbent materials are still used.

From DE 44 09 465 Al and DE 42 42 538 Al it is known to use natural fibers to produce degradable absorbent bodies. Although these products are satisfactory in terms of their biological properties, in particular degradability, they are not well tolerated by the body and their absorbency is too low.
Based on this, the invention is based on the object of designing an absorbent body of the type mentioned at the beginning in such a way that it has both optimal absorption properties and wearing properties with or without a corresponding covering and, on the other hand, is easily biodegradable.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the absorbent body consists exclusively of a cellulose obtained from hemp.
The use of cellulose for hygiene products has long been known. Conventional cellulose is obtained from natural raw materials containing lignocellulose, such as straw, reeds, but especially from wood, using a pulping process. The so-called sulfate process is the most important. There are also pulping processes using caustic soda or nitric acid. All of these processes aim to remove lignin and other cellulose-associated substances as much as possible.
The processes mentioned are extremely problematic due to serious waste water and exhaust air problems. In attempts to implement environmentally friendly pulping processes, processes have been used in particular in which the extraction of the wood-related substances is carried out using organic solvents at elevated temperatures and pressure. These processes are known, for example, as the Organosolf process, Organocell process or Alcell process. Compared to these previously known processes, the invention is based on the knowledge that the selection of the starting product is of crucial importance for products of the type in question, i.e. that one does not use just any lignin-containing starting product that is available in sufficient quantities, such as wood, but rather a starting product that also gives the finished cellulose product the properties that are important for use as a hygiene product.
It was found that hemp as a starting product has optimal properties because the lignin content is naturally lower and ecologically harmless pulping processes can be used accordingly, and an absorbent body made of such hemp cellulose also has very advantageous properties in that it is very absorbent and therefore does not require any chemical absorbent and on the other hand can be designed to be low in other chemical additives, such as bleaching agents, so that a high body tolerance is achieved even for allergy sufferers.
When it is mentioned above that an absorbent body according to the invention consists exclusively of hemp cellulose, this means
-4--4-
daß kein Absorbens eingesetzt wird, daß aber natürlich Zusatzstoffe, wie z.B. geruchsneutralisierende Stoffe, eingesetzt sein können.that no absorbent is used, but that additives, such as odor-neutralizing substances, can of course be used.
In a further embodiment, it is provided that a known covering made of a fleece-like material, preferably of plant origin, is used.
