Die Formröhre 14 ist des weiteren mit der Kühleinrichtung 11 versehen, wobei Kühlluft in die Formröhre 14 eingeblasen wird. Auf diese Weise ist sichergestellt, daß der zu dem Rohr 2a geformte Streifen beim Durchlaufen durch die Formröhre 14 wieder auf Raumtemperatur abkühlt und erstarrt. Die Stoßnaht des geformten Rohres 2a liegt oberseitig, so daß das Heizschwert der Schweißvorrichtung 19 in die Stoßnaht eingreift und die Flächen plastifiziert, so daß sie verschweißen. Des weiteren sind seitliche einstellbare Führungsstützen 36 vorgesehen als Seitenbegrenzung. In dieser zusammengedrückten ovalen Querschnittsform wird das an der Stoßnaht zugeschweißte Rohr 2b direkt in die Andrückvorrichtung 20 eingeführt, die auf einer vorgegebenen Wegstrecke das Rohr in der vorgegebenen Stellung hält, bis die Schweißnaht verfestigt ist. Das Kühlrohr 27 kann beispielsweise mittels Kühlluft betrieben werden, die über den Eingang 26 zurückgeführt wird. Vor dem Kühlrohr 27 ist zweckmä Big eine Blende 25 angeordnet, die ein einwandfreies Zuführen der Kühlluft sicherstellt. Das Kühlrohr 27 kann auswechselbar sein und in seinem Durchmesser den jeweiligen herzustellenden Rohren angepaßt werden. Der weitere Abtransport des Rohres geschieht über die Abzugsrollen 29, die über den Antrieb 31 angetrieben werden und die oberseitige schwenkbare Mitnehmerrolle 28. In diesem Bereich kann beispielsweise eine Trennvorrichtung, in Gestalt des rotierenden Längstrennmessers 30 angeordnet sein, daß das geschweißte wärmebehandelte und erstarrte Rohr an einer Stelle, die nicht der Stoßnaht entspricht, in Längsrichtung schlitzt. Zum Ablängen des geschlitzten Rohres 2c ist die Führung 32, beispielsweise eine Führungsbuchse vorgesehen, an die sich das Quertrennmesser 33 anschließt.
