Description

The invention relates to a device for locking movable plate-shaped elements in a position that can be fixed by a frame, a threshold, a strip or the like. The device can preferably be used for locking a door in a shower cubicle. Of course, other applications for locking movable elements such as doors, windows, etc. are also conceivable.

Devices for locking movable plate-shaped elements, in particular doors, are well known in the art. The range of known or common door stops extends from simple wooden wedges to various types of catches to devices and magnets that are permanently mounted on the floor, door, frame or wall. The document DE 298 06 512 U1 describes a door fastening or door holding device for holding a door. This comprises a trumpet-like suction disc or a suction cup at a front end, which is directed towards an object to be attracted or sucked in. Furthermore, a flexible connection is provided for connecting the suction disc to a seat via an annular retainer. The seat is attached to a lower section of a wall or a lower rail of the door. If the door is opened to a maximum pivot angle, the suction disc pulls or sucks the door without this connection automatically releasing, unless the door is closed by hand. The device is therefore used to hold the door in an open position.

The publication G 81 05 711.3 describes a snap lock for cupboard doors or the like, with an inlet shell that can be inserted into the front of an opening in the door, in which an actuating rocker is rotatably mounted, which, when lifted, adjusts a pressure pin in the direction of the rear of the opening and in doing so brings a spring-loaded bolt of a snap lock arranged on the rear of the door from the closed position, which engages behind a closing angle fixed on the furniture body, into the open position, which releases the closing angle.

The publication DE 201 15 571 U1 discloses a door holder or a device with which doors in particular, but also windows, can be fixed in any position. The device consists of a leaf spring made of strip steel, which is attached to a stop buffer and is shaped in such a way that it lies on the floor and holds a door leaf sliding over it as a result of the spring effect, with at least one fastening hole at one end of the folded strip steel, while several fastening holes are made in the longitudinal direction at the other end, the end underneath due to the fold. There is a gap between the two ends of the strip steel. The disadvantage here is that the construction has to be installed firmly on the floor.

The invention is based on the object of presenting an improved device for locking movable plate-shaped elements in a position that can be fixed by a frame, a threshold, a strip or the like, which overcomes the above-mentioned disadvantages and is particularly suitable for locking shower cubicle doors in the closed state.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of claim 1. Particularly advantageous embodiments of the invention are described in the subordinate claims.

Accordingly, the invention includes a device for locking movable plate-shaped elements in a position that can be fixed by a frame, a threshold, a strip or the like, wherein the device comprises a part with a receptacle that can be applied to an edge of the element, wherein the part is connected to a spring-mounted support for locking the element in the frame.

According to a particular feature of the invention, the element is a door arranged in a lockable manner in a frame of a shower partition, wherein the device with the receptacle can be plugged onto at least one edge of the door. This is preferably the upper edge of the door.

The advantage here is that the device can be moved along the edge of the door. The adjustable leverage makes it easy to regulate the closing force.

The variable usability of the device is a particularly great advantage. According to one feature, the holder is designed like a clamp and can be attached to the upper and/or lower edge of the door. According to another feature, the clamp-like holder can be attached to the edge of the vertical side opposite the hinge of the door. According to a preferred feature, the spring-mounted support has rounded side edges parallel to the door or frame, with a trough-like depression formed in the middle of the support. This design enables the door to slide easily, for example, into the upper beam of the shower cubicle frame.

According to a further feature of the invention, it is also possible for the closing force of the door to be adjustable via the spring of the support.

Figure 1 shows the device according to the invention for locking movable plate-shaped elements. The device 1 consists of a part 1.1 which can be attached to an edge of the element 2 and which comprises a holder 1.2. The part 1.1 is connected to a spring-mounted support 1.3 for locking the element 2 in a frame.

Preferably, the element 2 is a frame 3.1 of a
Shower partition 3 with a lockable door 3.2, whereby the device 1 with the holder 1.2 is attached to the upper edge of the door 3.2. The device 1 can be moved on the edge of the door 3.2. The closing force can be regulated by means of the adjustable lever effect.

Claims (7)

Device for locking movable plate-shaped elements in a position that can be fixed by a frame, a threshold, a strip or the like, characterized in that the device ( 1 ) comprises a part ( 1.1 ) with a receptacle ( 1.2 ) that can be applied to an edge of the element ( 2 ), and the part ( 1.1 ) is connected to a spring-mounted support ( 1.3 ) for locking the element ( 2 ) in the frame. 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the element ( 2 ) is a door ( 3.2 ) arranged in a lockable manner in a frame ( 3.1 ) of a shower partition ( 3 ), wherein the device ( 1 ) with the receptacle ( 1.2 ) can be plugged onto at least one edge of the door ( 3.2 ). 3. Device according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the device ( 1 ) is displaceable on at least one edge of the door ( 3.2 ), whereby the closing force can be regulated. 4. Device according to one of the above claims, characterized in that the receptacle ( 1.2 ) is designed like a clamp and can be plugged onto the upper and/or lower edge of the door ( 3.2 ). 5. Device according to one of the above claims, characterized in that the receptacle ( 1.2 ) is designed like a clamp and can be plugged onto the edge of the vertical side opposite the hinge of the door ( 3.2 ). 6. Device according to one of the above claims, characterized in that the spring-mounted support ( 1.3 ) has rounded side edges ( 1.3.1 ) located parallel to the door or the frame and a trough-like depression ( 1.3.2 ) is formed in the middle of the support ( 1.3 ). 7. Device according to one of the above claims, characterized in that the closing force of the door ( 3.2 ) is adjustable via the spring ( 1.3.3 ) of the support ( 1.3 ).
