Die mit der Erfindung erreichbaren Vorteile bestehen darin, daß durch die Drehung der Trommel im Laugenbehälter mit erhöhter Drehzahl das Wasser bis zu einer Höhe von etwa 3/4 des Laugenbehälter-Durchmessers mitgenommen wird. Hierdurch wird das Wasser nach Erreichen der gewünschten Höhe sehr stark verwirbelt und erreicht auf diese Weise auch die Stirnflächen, nämlich die Tür und die Trommel- bzw. Laugenbehälter-Rückwand. Bei einer Erhöhung der Drehzahl würde ein vollständiger, den Trommelmantel umgreifender Wassermantel ausgebildet werden und die Reinigung der Stirnflächen würde unterbleiben. Bei geringeren Drehzahlen würde eine Verwirbelung des Wassers nicht stattfinden. sind. Ein ventilgesteuerter Wasserlauf mündet in den Laugenbehälter, der Wasserablauf
erfolgt über eine Entleerungspumpe, wobei die Ventile und die Entleerungspumpe ebenfalls
durch die Programmsteuerung kontrolliert werden. Mit Bedienelementen oder durch eine
externe Steuerung ist ein Hygieneprogramm einstellbar, dessen Programmablauf im
Folgenden beschrieben wird:
Zunächst erfolgt ein Wassereinlauf bis auf das übliche Waschniveau. Anschließend wird die
Trommel wie bei Waschprogrammen reversierend gedreht. In einem Heizschritt wird die einge
füllte Waschflüssigkeit bis auf eine Temperatur von mindestens 70°C, vorzugsweise 80°C

Durch das Zusammenbrechen des Wassermantels auf dieser Höhe entstehen Verwirbelungen, wodurch auch die Tür und die Trommel- und Laugenbehälter-Rückwand gereinigt werden. Nach Ablauf der 30 Sekunden erfolgt eine Pause von 20 Sekunden, in der die Trommel ausläuft. Danach wird die Dreh richtung der Trommel umgekehrt, erneut für 30 Sekunden auf 200 min-1 beschleunigt und ein Auslauf von 20 Sekunden vollzogen. Die Waschmaschine ist nun desinfiziert. - - Entleeren des Wassers aus dem Laugenbehälter.
