Abstract

In der Postverteilzentrale (oder einer entsprechenden Zentrale in einem ande­ ren Fracht- bzw. Logistiksystem) wird der Barcode erfaßt und durch das integrierte Erken­ nungszeichen "F" als Identifikationsträger für die Freimachung diskriminiert (siehe Zeich­ nung). Vor Ort werden Gewicht und Raummaße mechanisch/optolektronisch ermittelt und von einem lokalen Rechner mit der Entgeltinformation des Barcodes und den Beförde­ rungsbedingungen verglichen (erste notwendige Bedingung für den Befehl zum Weiter­ transport). Die Daten aus dem Barcode werden an den zentralen Rechner weitergeleitet, der für die Abrechnung der Kundendaten zuständig ist. Der Weitertransport wird veranlaßt, wenn im Verteilzentrum eine vom Kunden (Versender) gekaufte Codenummer erfaßt wird (Datenabgleich) oder wenn eine ausreichende herkömmliche Frankierung gegeben ist. Ist dies der Fall (zweite notwendige Bedingung für den Befehl zum Weitertransport), erfolgt der Weitertransport und die Freigabe der vergebenen Codenummer im Rechner zur Neu­ vergabe.
