Das Ringfilterelement ist dabei erfindungsgemäß drehbar und gleichzeitig in Axialrichtung gehalten mit dem Filtergehäuseteil und drehfest und in Axialrichtung verstellbar mit dem Filtertopf verbunden. Dies führt bei einem Abschrauben des Filtertopfes dazu, dass sich das Ringfilterelement zunächst mit dem Filtertopf mitdreht, sich jedoch gleichzeitig axial zu diesem verstellt und dabei beispielsweise einen an einer unteren Endscheibe des Ringfilterelementes angeordneten und axial zu dieser abstehenden Pin aus einer im Filtertopf vorgesehenen Leerlauföffnung herauszieht. Dabei wird bei einem Abschrauben des Filtertopfes vom Filtergehäuseteil zunächst der Pin aus der Leerlauföffnung herausgezogen, so dass das Filterfluid abfließen kann, bevor ein völliges Trennen, das heißt ein Losschrauben, des Filtertopfes vom Filtergehäuseteil erfolgt. Erst kurz vor einem vollständigen Lösen des Filtertopfes vom Filtergehäuseteil wird das Ringfilterelement auch in Axialrichtung relativ zum Filtertopf fixiert, so dass nach dem kompletten Lösen der Verschraubung zwischen dem Filtertopf und dem Filtergehäuseteil das Ringfilterelement vom Filtergehäuseteil abgezogen werden kann. Nach dem Abschrauben des Filtertopfes vom Filtergehäuseteil, kann das Ringfilterelement durch eine geringe Drehbewegung und eine anschließende axiale Auszugsbewegung aus dem Filtergehäuse entnommen und durch ein neues ersetzt werden.
