Abstract
En un proceso de polimerización en masa de radicaleslibres para producir polímeros de alto peso molecular a partir de un monómero aromático de vinilo caracterizado en que la polimerización se lleva a cabo en presencia de un catalizador ácido soluble que tiene un pKa de menos de 2 a 25°C, o una sal del mismo, en una cantidad suficiente de manera tal que se produzca un polímero de alto peso molecular sin iniciar una polimerización catiónica, y en donde la mejora comprende: dispersar el catalizador ácido en un ácido (met)acrílico o un éster del mismo, antes de entrar en contacto con el monómero aromático de vinilo.
