In this embodiment, the light guide body 200 includes a first light guide portion 210 and a second light guide portion 220, and the first light guide portion 210 and the second light guide portion 220 are connected by a light guide beam 230.
The first light guide portion 210 and the second light guide portion 220 have the same structure and are arranged in parallel. A light sensor is disposed below the first light guiding portion 210, and a light sensing area of the light sensor is located in the projection of the light emitting surface 2121 of the first light guiding portion 210; the light emitting area of the infrared emitter is also located in the projection of the light incident surface 2221 of the second light guiding portion 220 under the second light guiding portion 220.
The light guide 200 is made of transparent material, has high transmittance and low haze, and has high light guide capability for ambient light. In some embodiments, the material of the light guide 200 may be polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate (PC), or the like. In other embodiments, other materials meeting the above requirements may be selected by those skilled in the art to form the light guide 200.
An obtuse angle is formed between the first light inlet portion 211 and the second light outlet portion 221 of the first light guide portion 210, and in other embodiments, the first light inlet portion 211 and the second light outlet portion 221 are perpendicular to each other or are connected by a curved surface. The second light-in portion 222 and the second light-out portion 221 of the second light guide portion 220 are connected to the first light-in portion 211 and the second light-out portion 221 in the same manner.
The bottom of the first light-emitting portion 212 has a protruding portion, and an end surface of the protruding portion is used as the light-emitting surface 2121. The light-emitting surface 2121 is a plane and is disposed in parallel with the light-sensing surface of the light sensor 402 (refer to fig. 4). The light field range of the outgoing light can be adjusted by adjusting the size of the light outgoing surface 2121, so that the light sensitive surface of the light sensor 402 is located in the square range. The protruding portion may be a cylinder or other columnar structures, and the protruding portion has a smaller size, which is beneficial to converging light and improving the light intensity emitted from the light emitting surface 2121.
The bottom of the second light inlet 222 of the second light guide 220 also has a protruding portion, the end surface of the protruding portion is a light inlet surface 2221, the light inlet surface 2221 is a plane for collecting the infrared light emitted from the infrared emitter below, and the infrared light is emitted from the light outlet surface 2211 of the second light outlet 221 via the second light guide 220.
In other embodiments, the first light emitting portion 212 and the second light entering portion 222 may have flat bottom surfaces.
In this embodiment, the first light emitting portion 212 and the second light entering portion 222 have a recess 2122 and a recess 2222, respectively, which are formed by a positioning structure in a mold during injection molding, and are used for positioning the light guide 200 during injection molding. The cross section of the recess may be circular or polygonal, etc., and is not limited herein. In other embodiments, the first light emitting portion 212 and the second light entering portion 222 may not have the recess, but may be a simple rectangular column, a cylinder, a multi-deformation column, or the like.
The light guide beam 230 is used to provide an optical crosstalk path between the first light guide portion 210 and the second light guide portion 220. In the process of short-distance detection, infrared light emitted by the infrared emitter is emitted to the outside of the electronic device through the second light guide part 220, reflected by the shielding object, and received by the light sensor through the first light guide part 210, so that the distance between the electronic device and the shielding object is detected. When the distance between the electronic device and the shielding object is too short, for example, when the shielding object is tightly attached to the surface of the screen, the reflection angle of the outgoing infrared light is small, and the outgoing infrared light may not enter the first light guiding portion 210, so that the detection result may not be obtained. The light guide beam 230 serves as a crosstalk path for infrared transmission, providing a background noise for close range detection. When the shielding object is close to the electronic device, although the reflected light cannot enter the first light guide portion 210, a part of the infrared light in the second light guide portion 220 may enter the first light guide portion 210 through the light guide beam 230, and be received by the light sensor 4012, and still the detection result may be obtained. The size of the background noise for short-range detection can be adjusted by those skilled in the art by adjusting the cross-sectional dimension of the light guide beam 230 to obtain a suitable background noise signal.
Only a single light sensor may be disposed below the first light guide portion 210, which is used to detect ambient light, so as to realize automatic adjustment of screen backlight, and also is used to receive infrared light detected in a short distance, so as to realize control of automatically turning off the screen. In other embodiments, two light sensors may be further disposed below the first light guiding portion 210 to detect ambient light and infrared light, respectively, and the two light sensors are both located in the projection of the light emitting surface 2121 of the first light guiding portion 210.
In some embodiments, a light blocking layer may be further formed on a surface of a side wall of the light guide body 200 facing to the display screen, so as to prevent light from entering the light guide body 200, so as to improve a light leakage phenomenon of the screen and improve accuracy of automatic adjustment of backlight of the screen. The light blocking layer may be a light absorbing layer for absorbing light emitted from the display screen, for example, a black spray coating layer on the surface of the side wall, or a black plastic film, for example, a PET film layer, adhered to the surface of the side wall. In other embodiments, the light absorbing layer may also be a reflective layer for reflecting light leakage from the screen. The light absorbing layer may be a rough surface layer located on the side wall of the light guide 200, and may be formed by sanding the side wall of the light guide 200, or attaching a reflective film layer to the surface of the side wall.
In other embodiments, the light-blocking layer may be covered on the other surfaces of the light-emitting surface and the light-entering surface of the light guide 200.
The foregoing embodiments are merely examples of the present application, and are not intended to limit the scope of the patent application, so that all equivalent structures or equivalent processes using the descriptions and the drawings of the present application, such as the combination of technical features of the embodiments, or direct or indirect application to other related technical fields, are included in the scope of the patent protection of the present application.
