The following disclosure provides many different embodiments, or examples, for implementing different features of the invention. To simplify the disclosure of the present invention, the components and arrangements of specific examples are described below. Of course, they are merely examples and are not intended to limit the present invention. Furthermore, the present invention may repeat reference numerals and/or letters in the various examples. This repetition is for the purpose of simplicity and clarity and does not in itself dictate a relationship between the various embodiments and/or configurations discussed. In addition, the present invention provides examples of various specific processes and materials, but one of ordinary skill in the art may recognize the applicability of other processes and/or the use of other materials.
Next, a flexible display panel 100 according to an embodiment of the first aspect of the present invention is described with reference to the drawings.
As shown in fig. 1 and fig. 2, the flexible display panel 100 includes at least one bending group a, where the bending group a includes a bending region a1, two bending transition regions a2, and two flat regions A3, the two flat regions A3 are respectively located at two sides of the bending region a1 in the bending direction of the flexible display panel 100, and each flat region A3 is connected to the bending region a1 through one bending transition region a 2.
For example, in the example of fig. 1 and fig. 2, the two bending transition areas a2 are a first bending transition area a21 and a second bending transition area a22, respectively, the two flat areas A3 are a first flat area a31 and a second flat area a32, respectively, the first flat area a31 and the second flat area a32 are located on two sides of the bending area a1 in the bending direction of the flexible display panel 100, the first flat area a31 is connected to one side of the bending area a1 through the first bending transition area a21, and the second flat area a32 is connected to the other side of the bending area a1 through the second bending transition area a 22.
The flexible display panel 100 has a folded state (as shown in fig. 1) in which the bending region a1 is bent to form a bending portion B1, two flat regions A3 are overlapped to form a flat portion B2, and the width T of the bending portion B1 is greater than the width T of the flat portion B2 in the thickness direction (e.g., the up-down direction in fig. 1) of the cover plate 1.
Here, the width T of the bent portion B1 may be understood as the width of the entire bent portion B1 occupying the space in the thickness direction of the lid plate 1, and the width T of the flat portion B2 may be understood as the width of the entire flat portion B2 occupying the space in the thickness direction of the lid plate 1. Since T is greater than T, the flexible display panel 100 in the folded state is not U-shaped, and instead, the bent portion B1 is substantially formed into a droplet shape, so that the flexible display panel 100 is formed into a flexible droplet-shaped foldable display panel, that is, the bent portion B1 has a larger bending radius, for example, the bent portion B1 has the largest bending radius when the flexible display panel 100 is in the folded state, and the bent portion B1 assumes an ideal droplet circle state.
It should be noted that, in folded state, the flexible display panel that is the U-type, its radius of bending is relatively less, and the clearance between two flat districts of the flat portion of this flexible display panel is great, lead to flexible display panel's whole thickness great, the appearance is unsightly, use experience is not good enough, and if this kind of flexible display panel wants to accomplish totally closed, when making the clearance between two flat districts of flat portion be 0, the radius of bending part will be minimum, flexible display panel's material and reliance all are difficult to satisfy.
In the present application, since T is greater than T, the flexible display panel 100 is formed as a flexible droplet-shaped display panel in a folded state, the gap between the two flat regions A3 of the flat portion B2 is small, and even the two flat regions A3 can be in contact with each other, so that the gap between the two flat regions A3 is 0, for example, when the flexible display panel 100 is folded inward, wherein the cover plate 1 of one flat region A3 and the cover plate 1 of the other flat region A3 are close to each other, the gap between the lid 1 at one of the flat sections A3 and the lid 1 at the other flat section A3 may be made 0, thereby being beneficial to reducing the whole thickness of the flexible display panel 100, being convenient to realize the minimization of the involution thickness of the flexible display panel 100 after being bent, meanwhile, the bending radius of the bending part B1 is larger, which is convenient for ensuring the realizability and reliability of the flexible display panel 100, and the water drop shape is more beautiful.
As shown in fig. 1 and 3, the flexible display panel 100 includes a cover plate 1, a flexible OLED device 2, and a support layer 3, the flexible OLED device 2 is disposed on a thickness side of the cover plate 1, and the flexible OLED device 2 is bonded to the cover plate 1, for example, the flexible OLED device 2 may be connected to the cover plate 1 through an optical adhesive layer, the support layer 3 is disposed on a side of the flexible OLED device 2 facing away from the cover plate 1, and the flexible OLED device 2 is disposed between the cover plate 1 and the support layer 3. The support layer 3 at each bending transition area a2 is formed with a surface depression 31, so that the minimum thickness of the support layer 3 at the bending transition area a2 is smaller than the thickness of the support layer 3 at the flat area A3. The flexible display panel 100 further includes a flat buffer 4, and the flat buffer 4 is filled in the surface recess 31.
Through analysis and research, the inventor finds that the thickness of the supporting layer 3 is thicker than that of the whole flexible display panel 100, so that when the flexible display panel 100 is bent, parameters such as mechanical properties of the supporting layer 3 have great influence on bending reliability, deformability, stress and the like of the whole flexible display panel 100, and the mechanical parameters, the thickness and the like of the supporting layer 3 can directly influence the integral bending performance of each thin film layer of the flexible OLED device 2 attached thereon; it is also found that the flexible OLED device and the cover plate are easily separated in the bending transition area, that is, the flexible OLED device and the cover plate corresponding to the bending transition area are most easily damaged, and through the cooperation of the flexible display panel 100 and the jig 101, the bending transition area a2 is easily subjected to stress concentration, so that the technical scheme of the application is provided.
The flat buffer member 4 is filled in the surface concave part 31 of the support layer 3 in the bending transition area A2, so that the resilience of the flexible display panel 100 in a folded state is effectively reduced, the stress of a rubber material of the flexible display panel 100, such as the rubber material between the flexible OLED device 2 and the cover plate 1, is reasonable, the deformation is reduced, and the risk of separating the flexible OLED device 2 from the cover plate 2 is reduced, meanwhile, by arranging the flat buffer member 4, because the flat buffer member 4 has certain elasticity, the bending transition area A2 can be compensated, the stress concentration of the bending transition area A2 is weakened, a good compensation and stress buffering effect is achieved, meanwhile, when the jig 101 is adopted to bend the flexible display panel 100, the flat buffer member 4 can achieve the flattening of the support layer 3, the jig 101 can better push the bending transition area A2, so as to achieve the bending of the bending transition area A2, and therefore the reliability of the flexible display panel 100 in a folded state is better achieved, thereby preventing the adhesive material of the flexible display panel 100 from being pulled out and peeled off during repeated folding processes.
Compared with some technologies, in order to reduce the crease generated in the repeated folding process of the flexible display panel, a metal support layer with good resilience is attached to the flexible display panel, but due to the fact that the metal support layer has a large elastic modulus, the flexible OLED device and the cover plate are prone to being separated in the inward folding process of the flexible display panel (for example, the cover plate is separated from the polarizer easily), so that the bending resistance of the flexible water drop type display panel is reduced, and the flexible water drop type folding display panel cannot be used normally after being repeatedly bent; and flexible display panel 100 in this application is through setting up supporting layer 3 and flat buffer 4, make flat buffer 4 fill in the surperficial depressed part 31 of supporting layer 3, can effectively reduce flexible display panel 100 in the in-process of buckling (for example, the infolding), the difference in strain between flexible OLED device 2 and the apron 1, reduce the strain that the optical bonding glue film between flexible OLED device 2 and the apron 1 produced, in order to avoid easily taking place to separate between flexible OLED device 2 and the apron 1, thereby effectively promoted flexible display panel 100's bending resistance ability, make flexible display panel 100 use reliably, and guaranteed the display effect of flexible display panel 100 in the repeated folding in-process.
Wherein the thickness of the flat buffer 4 is substantially equal to the depth of the surface recess 31, the following cases can be included: 1. the thickness of the flat cushion 4 is absolutely equal to the depth of the surface recess 31; 2. there is a negligible error between the thickness of the flat cushion 4 and the depth of the surface recess 31. Thereby, it is convenient to further ensure the planarization of the flexible display panel 100.
In some embodiments, the formation of the concave portion 31 on the upper surface of the supporting layer 3 may be realized by performing a thinning process on the supporting layer 3, for example, by performing a laser Hatching (laser Hatching) or a localized dry etching process to realize a patterned thinning of the supporting layer 3 in a specific region, i.e., the bending transition region a 2. But is not limited thereto.
Alternatively, the support layer 3 may be a metal member, but is not limited thereto. For example, the support layer 3 may be PI (polyimide), the thickness of the support layer 3 may be 20mm to 50mm, and the elastic modulus may be 2GPa to 10 GPa; the surface of the support layer 3 can be provided with a release film. Therefore, the support layer 3 is convenient to ensure enough resilience, and the recovery effect of the bending crease is favorably improved.
In some embodiments, the surface recesses 31 include a first recess 31a and/or a second recess 31b, the first recess 31a is formed on a side surface of the support layer 3 facing the flexible OLED device 2, and the second recess 31b is formed on a side surface of the support layer 3 facing away from the flexible OLED device 2, which includes the following cases: 1. the surface recess 31 includes a first recess 31a and does not include a second recess 31 b; 2. the surface recess 31 includes the second recess 31b and does not include the first recess 31 a; 3. the surface recess 31 includes a first recess 31a and a second recess 31 b. From this, the structural design of superficial depressed part 31 has been richened, has realized that the structure of superficial depressed part 31 is diversified, is favorable to flexible display panel 100 to satisfy actual differentiation demand, promotes the suitability.
For example, as shown in fig. 6 and 13, the surface recess 31 includes a first recess 31a and does not include a second recess 31b, in this case, a side surface of the support layer 3 facing the flexible OLED device 2 in the bending transition region a2 may be disposed non-flush with a side surface of the support layer 3 facing the flexible OLED device 2 in the flat region A3, a side surface of the support layer 3 facing away from the flexible OLED device 2 in the bending transition region a2 may be flush with a side surface of the support layer 3 facing away from the flexible OLED device 2 in the flat region A3, and a side surface of the support layer 3 facing away from the flexible OLED device 2 in the bending transition region a2 and a side surface of the support layer 3 facing away from the flexible OLED device 2 in the flat region A3 are located on the same plane or the same curved surface; for another example, as shown in fig. 3, 7, 10, 11, and 14-17, the surface recess 31 includes the second recess 31b and does not include the first recess 31a, in this case, a side surface of the support layer 3 facing away from the flexible OLED device 2 in the bending transition region a2 may be disposed non-flush with a side surface of the support layer 3 facing away from the flexible OLED device 2 in the flat region A3, a side surface of the support layer 3 facing towards the flexible OLED device 2 in the bending transition region a2 may be flush with a side surface of the support layer 3 facing towards the flexible OLED device 2 in the flat region A3, and a side surface of the support layer 3 facing towards the flexible OLED device 2 in the bending transition region a2 and a side surface of the support layer 3 facing towards the flexible OLED device 2 in the flat region A3 are located on the same plane or the same curved surface; for another example, the surface recess 31 includes a first recess 31a and a second recess 31b, in this case, a side surface of the support layer 3 facing the flexible OLED device 2 in the bending transition region a2 is not flush with a side surface of the support layer 3 facing the flexible OLED device 2 in the flat region A3, and a side surface of the support layer 3 facing away from the flexible OLED device 2 in the bending transition region a2 is also not flush with a side surface of the support layer 3 facing away from the flexible OLED device 2 in the flat region A3.
In some embodiments, as shown in fig. 3, the minimum thickness of the support layer 3 at the bending transition area a2 is t g The thickness of the support layer 3 at the flat area A3 is t p ,t g 、t p Satisfies the following conditions: 1/3 is less than or equal to t g /t p 2/3, thereby through the minimum thickness that sets up the supporting layer 3 that is located the transition zone A2 of buckling, be convenient for weaken the resilience force of the supporting layer 3 that is located the transition zone A2 of buckling, for example, can make the resilience force of the supporting layer 3 that is located the transition zone A2 of buckling descend at least half, make the supporting layer 3 that is located the transition zone A2 of buckling have suitable resilience, the deformation of flexible display panel 100 gluing material has been weakened, avoid the supporting layer 3 resilience that is located the transition zone A2 of buckling too big to lead to the flexible display screen easily to take place the peel-off phenomenon, also can avoid the supporting layer 3 resilience undersize that is located the transition zone A2 of buckling to lead to the flexible display panel 100 easily to produce the crease.
For example, when the surface recesses 31 are not formed on the support layer 3, the entire support layer 3 of the flexible display panel 100 may be formed in an equal thickness structure, and the maximum depth of the surface recesses 31 may occupy between 1/3 and 2/3 of the thickness of the support layer 3.
It will be appreciated that the support layer 3 at the bending transition region a2 can be formed in a uniform thickness structure, and the minimum thickness t of the support layer 3 at the bending transition region a2 g I.e. the thickness of the support layer 3 at any position in the bend transition region a 2; of course, the support layer 3 at the bending transition area a2 may also be formed as a non-uniform thickness structure.
In some embodiments, as shown in fig. 3, fig. 6, fig. 10, fig. 11, and fig. 13 to fig. 19, the thickness of the support layer 3 located in the bending region a1 is equal to the thickness of the support layer 3 located in the flat region A3, so that the entire support layer 3 of the flexible display panel 100 may be thinned only in the bending transition region a2, which facilitates the processing of the flexible display panel 100 and improves the processing efficiency.
Of course, the thickness of the support layer 3 at the bending region a1 and the thickness of the support layer 3 at the flat region A3 may not be equal.
For example, as shown in fig. 7-9, the surface of the support layer 3 located in the bending region a1 is flush with the surface of the support layer 3 located in the bending transition region a2, and the surface of the support layer 3 located in the bending region a1 and the corresponding surface of the support layer 3 located in the bending transition region a2 are located on the same plane or the same curved surface, so that the thickness of the support layer 3 located in the bending region a1 is unequal to the thickness of the support layer 3 located in the flat region A3, thereby further enriching the design of the flexible display panel 100.
For example, in the examples of fig. 7 to 9, the support layer 3 located in the bending region a1 and the support layer 3 located in the bending transition region a2 are both formed in an equal-thickness structure, so that the thickness of the support layer 3 located in the bending region a1 is equal to the thickness of the support layer 3 located in the bending transition region a2, and the entire support layer 3 of the flexible display panel 100 may be thinned in both the bending region a1 and the bending transition region a2, and since the thicknesses of the support layer 3 in the bending region a1 and the bending transition region a2 are equal during the thinning process, it is beneficial to simplify the thinning process and improve the processing efficiency.
In some embodiments, as shown in fig. 14, 16 and 17, the maximum thickness t of the support layer 3 at the bending transition area a2 is g ’,t g ’=t p At this time, the supporting layer 3 located in the bending region a1 may be locally thinned, so that the thinning area is reduced on the premise of ensuring the bending resistance of the flexible display panel 100, which is beneficial to improving the processing efficiency.
Of course, the maximum thickness t of the support layer 3 at the bend transition area A2 g ' may also be less than t p The weakening strength of the recovery performance of the support layer 3 is ensured, and the bending resistance of the flexible display panel 100 can be enhanced.
In some embodiments, as shown in fig. 19, the surface recesses 31 penetrate through the supporting layer 3, and the surface recesses 31 on the supporting layer 3 are formed as through holes, and the flat buffer 4 is filled in the through holes, so that the resilience of the supporting layer 3 can be ensured, and the stress buffer of the supporting layer 3 can be realized.
In some embodiments, as shown in fig. 3, in the bending direction of the flexible display panel 100, the width h of the bending transition region a2 satisfies that h is greater than or equal to 1mm and less than or equal to 5cm, and then the bending transition region a2 has a proper width, so that a proper distance is provided between the flat region A3 and the bending region a1, which avoids that the bending transition region a2 has a smaller width and is easy to generate stress concentration, and also avoids that the bending transition region a2 has a larger width and causes a smaller bending radius of the bending region a1 in the folded state, which results in higher reliability and material requirements for the flexible display panel 100.
In the example of fig. 1, in the bending direction of the flexible display panel 100, the bending transition region a2 may be centered at the starting position of the water drop type structure formed by bending the bending region a1 in the folded state.
In some embodiments, the surface recess 31 includes a groove 311, the bottom wall of the groove 311 is formed as a plane, or a curved surface, or a combination of different planes, or a combination of a plane and a curved surface, or a combination of different curved surfaces, and then in the cross section of the groove 311, the bottom wall of the groove 311 is formed as a plane, or a curved surface, or a combination of different planes, or a combination of a plane and a curved surface, or a combination of different curved surfaces; in the thickness direction of the cover plate 1, the orthographic projection of the support layer 3 located in the bending transition area a2 coincides with the orthographic projection of the bottom wall of the groove 311, and at this time, the whole support layer 3 located in the bending transition area a2 can be thinned, and the edge of the bending transition area a2 is removed, and the maximum thickness of the support layer 3 in the bending transition area a2 is smaller than the thickness of the support layer 3 located in the flat area A3. Wherein, at the edge of the bending transition area a2, the thickness of the support layer 3 may be less than or equal to the thickness of the support layer 3 in the flat area A3.
It will be appreciated that the cross-sectional shape of the recess 311 may be specifically configured according to the application. For example, in the examples of fig. 3, 6, and 7, the bottom wall of the groove 311 is formed as a plane, such as a cross-sectional shape of the groove 311 of a v, 21274; for another example, in the examples of fig. 10, 11, and 13, the bottom wall of the groove 311 is formed into a curved surface, such as a cross-sectional shape of the groove 311 is a semi-ellipse; for another example, the bottom wall of the recess 311 is formed as a combination of different planes, such as the cross-sectional shape of the recess 311 is a dogleg; for another example, in the example of fig. 15, the bottom wall of the recess 311 is formed as a combination of different curved surfaces. It should be noted that the "curved surface" may be understood as a smooth curved surface.
In other embodiments, the surface depression 31 includes a plurality of grooves 311, the plurality of grooves 311 are sequentially arranged along the bending direction of the flexible display panel 100, a protrusion 312 is disposed between two adjacent grooves 311, the thickness of the support layer 3 corresponding to the protrusion 312 is equal to the thickness of the support layer 3 located in the flat area A3, and at this time, a local thinning process may be performed on the entire support layer 3 located in the bending transition area a 2.
For example, in the example of fig. 16, the plurality of grooves 311 are arranged at intervals along the bending direction of the flexible display panel 100; for another example, in the example of fig. 14, the plurality of grooves 311 are provided without intervals in the bending direction of the flexible display panel 100. It is understood that the cross-sectional shape of the recess 311 may be set according to the actual application, for example, the bottom wall of the recess 311 is formed as a plane, or a curved surface, or a combination of different planes, or a combination of a plane and a curved surface, or a combination of different curved surfaces, and the cross-sectional shapes of the plurality of recesses 311 may be the same or different.
In some embodiments, the two bending transition areas a2 of bending group a are a first bending transition area a21 and a second bending transition area a22, respectively, and the minimum thickness of the support layer 3 located in the first bending transition area a21 is equal to the minimum thickness of the support layer 3 located in the second bending transition area a 22. From this, be convenient for supporting layer 3's processing, be convenient for guarantee simultaneously that supporting layer 3 is comparatively slick and sly, regular in the solid-state after buckling.
For example, in the example of fig. 1-19, the support layer 3 at the first bend transition a21 has the same structure as the support layer 3 at the second bend transition a22 for ease of processing.
In some embodiments, the flat cushion 4 is a rubber (e.g., TPU), or a silicone, or a foam. Of course, the flat buffer 4 may be made of other high molecular elastomer polymers, but is not limited thereto.

According to the display device of the embodiment of the invention, by adopting the flexible display panel 100, good bending resistance is ensured, and good use reliability is achieved.
Other configurations and operations of the display device according to the embodiment of the present invention are known to those skilled in the art and will not be described in detail herein.
The flexible display panel 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention is described in detail in eleven specific embodiments with reference to fig. 1 to 19. It is to be understood that the following description is only exemplary, and not a specific limitation of the invention.
Example one
In this embodiment, as shown in fig. 1 to fig. 5, the flexible display panel 100 is an OLED display panel, the flexible display panel 100 includes a bending group a, the bending group a includes a bending region a1, two bending transition regions a2 and two flat regions A3, the two flat regions A3 are respectively located at two sides of the bending region a1 in the bending direction of the flexible display panel 100, and the flat regions A3 are respectively connected to the bending region a1 through one bending transition region a 2. The flexible display panel 100 has a folded state, and in the folded state, the bending area a1 is in the form of a water drop.
The flexible display panel 100 includes a cover plate 1, a flexible OLED device 2, a support layer 3 and a flat buffer 4, the flexible OLED device 2 is disposed on one side of the cover plate 1, the support layer 3 is disposed on one side of the flexible OLED device 2 facing away from the cover plate 1, a surface recess 31 is formed on each support layer 3 in each bending transition area a2, so that the minimum thickness of the support layer 3 in the bending transition area a2 is smaller than the thickness of the support layer 3 in the flat area A3, and the flat buffer 4 is filled in the surface recess 31.
The surface recesses 31 on the two bending transition regions a2 have the same structure, the surface recesses 31 include a second recess 31b, the second recess 31b is formed on the surface of the support layer 3 opposite to the flexible OLED device 2, the second recess 31b includes a groove 311, the bottom wall of the groove 311 is formed as a plane, and the groove 311 is formed by recessing the surface of the entire support layer 3 in the bending transition region a2, so that the support layer 3 in the bending transition region a2 is formed as an equal-thickness structure and has a thickness t g The thickness of the support layer 3 at the flat area A3 is t p ,1/3≤t g /t p Less than or equal to 2/3. Wherein, the support layer 3 located in the bending region a1 is formed into an equal thickness structure, and the thickness of the support layer 3 located in the bending region a1 and the thickness t of the support layer 3 located in the flat region A3 are equal p Are equal.

The supporting layer 3 has good elastic resilience, and has a large resilience in the bending transition area a2, and during the bending process, the side effect of the resilience is that the supporting layer 3 will want to overcome the pushing force of the jig 101 to restore the original shape, so that a large pulling force can be applied to the glue material of the flexible display panel 100; meanwhile, the bending transition area a2 should bend toward the cover plate 1 during the folding process, and the glue material of the flexible display panel 100 will be under the action of tension. Therefore, the rubber material is easily deformed greatly under the action of the responsible force, and the rubber material is peeled and layered. When the jig 101 bends the flexible display panel 100, the jig 101 is arranged corresponding to the flat area A3 and the bending transition area a2, that is, the jig 101 does not apply a direct bending acting force to the bending area a1 in the bending process; the part of the jig 101 corresponding to the bending transition region a2 may be designed with a transition arc chamfer to optimize the stress of the bending transition region a 2.
Therefore, in order to satisfy the resilience and protect the adhesive material, the flexible display panel 100 is designed regionally in the bending transition region a2, that is, the support layer 3 of the bending transition region 2 is thinned, and the flat buffer 4 is filled in the surface recess 31, so as to perform stress relaxation treatment on the bending transition region a2, thereby reducing the bending deformation generated by the optical adhesive layer between the flexible OLED device 2 and the cover plate 1, and enhancing the bending resistance of the bending transition region a 2.
