Technical Field

Background
The pigment is a high-quality natural edible pigment prepared by fermenting filamentous fungi of Monascus, and is a secondary metabolite of Monascus. The natural red pigment is prepared from rice and soybean as main raw materials by monascus liquid fermentation culture, extraction, concentration and refining. The monascus pigment is obtained from natural plants, the raw materials are cheap and easy to obtain, the dyed fabric has natural color and small environmental pollution, and the treated fabric part has the antibacterial and health-care functions, so that more and more interests of students are aroused. However, monascus pigment has low affinity to cotton fiber and poor color yield due to its excellent water solubility, and needs to be treated by heavy metal mordant, so natural dyes are mainly concentrated on dyeing protein fiber fabrics such as silk and wool, and there are few reports on the use of monascus pigment in dyeing cotton fiber.
In addition, although the monascus red pigment has good water solubility, the monascus red pigment has low affinity to cotton fibers and poor color yield, and needs to be treated by a heavy metal mordant, so that the dyeing effect on the cotton fibers is very poor, and therefore, the monascus red pigment needs to be modified to meet the cotton fabric dyeing requirement.
