The invention discloses a gypsum product and a production method thereof, wherein the production method of the gypsum product comprises the steps of dissolving an auxiliary agent in water to prepare an auxiliary agent solution for later use, then uniformly mixing the auxiliary agent solution with raw gypsum powder, and feeding the mixture into a die cavity to prepare the product. The raw materials for producing the gypsum product comprise raw material gypsum powder, water and an auxiliary agent, wherein the water and the auxiliary agent are firstly prepared into an auxiliary agent solution, and the auxiliary agent accounts for 0.5-5.0% of the weight of the auxiliary agent solution; the weight ratio of the auxiliary agent solution to the raw gypsum powder is 20-50%: 1. the gypsum product prepared by the invention is added with the auxiliary agent, compared with the traditional process, the proportion of water in the formula is greatly reduced, so that the airing time or the drying cost is saved, and even the airing and the drying are not needed.

In the prior art, traditional gypsum products such as gypsum blocks, gypsum laths and the like are usually produced by taking semi-hydrated gypsum or a mixture of semi-hydrated gypsum and anhydrous gypsum as a raw material, adding a large amount of water to perform crystal transformation to generate dihydrate gypsum and solidifying the dihydrate gypsum. The proportion of water and gypsum, namely the water-plaster ratio, reaches 70%: 1, or even higher, to ensure adequate contact between water and gypsum material and fluidity of the slurry.
