Abstract
本发明公开了一种TFT-LCD面板及其驱动方法,涉及液晶显示器领域,能够实现在高刷新频率下,不会增加面板逻辑功耗以及满足像素充电率的要求。该TFT-LCD面板包括:由数行栅线和数列数据线交叉定义的数个子像素单元,每行栅线连接一个用于提供栅极驱动信号的GOA单元,每列子像素单元的两侧分别设置有为该列像素单元提供数据信号的第一数据线和第二数据线;每列相邻的两个子像素单元分别与所述第一数据线和第二数据线连接;每两个GOA单元提供相同的栅极驱动信号,且所述提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元中的一个GOA单元与奇数行栅线连接,另一个GOA单元与偶数行栅线连接。

技术领域
本发明涉及液晶显示器领域,尤其涉及一种薄膜晶体管液晶显示器(ThinFilm Transistor Liquid Crystal Display,简称TFT-LCD)面板及其驱动方法。
背景技术
随着TFT-LCD产业的发展,TFT-LCD产品的竞争日趋激烈,各厂家都在通过采用新技术以降低产品的成本,从而提高其产品在市场上的竞争力。阵列基板行驱动(Gate Driver on Array,简称GOA)技术就是这些新技术的典型代表。
GOA技术是将栅极驱动单元集成于阵列基板上形成GOA单元,从而可以省掉栅极驱动电路(Gate Driver IC)部分,从材料成本和工艺步骤两个方面可以达到降低产品成本的目的。
在实现本发明的过程中,发明人发现现有GOA技术中至少存在如下问题:
在面板驱动过程中,不论是GOA时钟信号还是数据线上的信号,都是以方波的形式驱动的,所以面板的逻辑功耗,可以用下面的公式来表示及计算:
P=(1/2)fCV2
其中P表示功耗,也就是power,f表示时钟脉冲信号的频率,C表示电容的大小,V表示脉冲信号高电平与低电平的差值。
从公式中我们可以看到,GOA部分的功耗在时钟脉冲信号高电平与低电平确定的情况下,与时钟脉冲信号的频率f存在正比的关系,比如说:面板刷新频率由60Hz驱动变为120Hz驱动时,GOA部分的功耗将会增加一倍,对于逻辑功耗有特定要求的面板,这样的变化有时甚至会导致产品设计的失败。
GOA技术由于采用了TFT工艺,相对于传统的覆晶薄膜(Chip On Film,简称COF)方式中采用的互补金属氧化物半导体(Complementary Metal OxideSemiconductor,简称CMOS)工艺,除了面板的逻辑功耗会有一定程度的上升外,GOA信号的延迟比COF方式要大,所以当面板的刷新频率要求提高时,无法满足像素的充电率要求。
发明内容
本发明的实施例所解决的技术问题在于提供一种TFT-LCD面板及其驱动方法,实现高刷新频率下,不会增加面板逻辑功耗以及满足像素充电率的要求。
为解决上述技术问题,本发明实施例采用如下技术方案:
一种TFT-LCD面板,包括:由数行栅线和数列数据线交叉定义的数个子像素单元,每行栅线连接一个用于提供栅极驱动信号的GOA单元,每列子像素单元的两侧分别设置有为该列像素单元提供数据信号的第一数据线和第二数据线;
每列相邻的两个子像素单元分别与所述第一数据线和第二数据线连接;
每两个GOA单元提供相同的栅极驱动信号,且所述提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元中的一个GOA单元与奇数行栅线连接,另一个GOA单元与偶数行栅线连接。
所述提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元与相邻的栅线连接。
与相邻栅线连接的两个GOA单元分别位于面板的两侧。
一种TFT-LCD面板的驱动方法,用于对所述面板上的各子像素单元充电,包括:
当栅极驱动信号到来时,提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元驱动和与之相连接的两行栅线同时打开,设置在每列子像素单元两侧的第一数据线和第二数据线分别为与之相连接的子像素单元充电,使得与所述两行栅线相连接的子像素单元同时充电。
所述提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元与相邻的栅线连接。
采用上述技术方案后,本发明实施例提供的一种TFT-LCD面板及其驱动方法,每列子像素单元的两侧分别设置有为该列像素单元提供数据信号的第一数据线和第二数据线,提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元连接两行栅线,当栅极驱动信号到来时,上述两行栅线同时打开,第一数据线和第二数据线分别为与之相连接的子像素单元充电,区别于现有技术只能为一行栅线相连接的子像素单元充电,该TFT-LCD面板不仅能够增加像素的充电时间以改善像素的充电率,还能够降低面板上时钟脉冲的频率以降低面板的逻辑功耗。

下面结合附图对本发明实施例TFT-LCD面板及其驱动方法进行详细描述。
应当明确,所描述的实施例仅仅是本发明的一部分实施例,而不是全部的实施例。基于本发明中的实施例,本领域普通技术人员在没有作出创造性劳动前提下所获得的所有其它实施例,都属于本发明保护的范围。
如图2所示,本发明实施例提供一种TFT-LCD面板,包括:由数行栅线24和数列数据线交叉定义的数个子像素单元21,每行栅线24连接一个用于提供栅极驱动信号的GOA单元25;
每列子像素单元的两侧分别设置有为该列像素单元提供数据信号的第一数据线22和第二数据线23;
每列相邻的两个子像素单元21分别与所述第一数据线22和第二数据线23连接;
每两个GOA单元25提供相同的栅极驱动信号,且所述提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元中的一个GOA单元与奇数行栅线连接,另一个GOA单元与偶数行栅线连接,所述的奇数行栅线和偶数行栅线可以为不相邻的栅线,不局限于图2中所示的相邻关系。
上述两个GOA单元采用相同的时钟信号,包括时钟信号的脉冲宽度、上升沿时刻、下降沿时刻等采用完全相同的电路设计。
本实施例提供的TFT-LCD面板,每列子像素单元的两侧分别设置有为该列像素单元提供数据信号的第一数据线22和第二数据线23,提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元25连接两行栅线24,当栅极驱动信号到来时,上述两行栅线24同时打开,第一数据线22和第二数据线23分别为与之相连接的子像素单元充电,区别于现有技术只能为一行栅线相连接的子像素单元充电,该TFT-LCD面板不仅能够增加像素的充电时间以改善像素的充电率,还能够降低面板上时钟脉冲的频率以降低面板的逻辑功耗。
如图2所示,进一步地,提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元25与相邻的栅线24连接。
与相邻栅线24连接的两个GOA单元25分别位于面板的两侧。
由于提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元25连接相邻两行栅线24,当栅极驱动信号到来时,上述相邻两行栅线24同时打开,设置在每列子像素单元两侧的第一数据线22和第二数据线23分别为与之相连接的子像素单元充电,使得与相邻两行栅线24相连接的子像素单元同时充电。
例如:分辨率为1440×RGB×900的显示器工作在120Hz的面板刷新频率之下时,现有技术逐行扫描一行最大可用充电时间,用周期除以扫描行数,为1÷120÷900=9.25μs,而本发明实施例提供的TFT-LCD面板可以同时驱动两行,此时的最大可用充电时间为1÷120÷(900÷2)=18.5μs,与逐行扫描相比增加了一倍,面板上脉冲时钟信号的频率为1÷18.5=54000Hz,与逐行扫描的1÷9.25=108000Hz相比下降了一倍,因此,采用本发明实施例的技术方案,不仅可以改善像素的充电率,还可以降低面板的逻辑功耗。
同时,在采用上述设计方案时,如图2所示,GOA单元25水平方向空间不变的情况下,垂直方向从原来的一个子像素单元高度变为目前的两个子像素单元的高度,上述GOA单元25的可用空间可以增加为原来的2倍,对于周边电路的设计,比如公共电极、时钟信号等都有了更大的余地。
本发明实施例还提供一种TFT-LCD面板的驱动方法,用于对所述面板上的各子像素单元充电,如图3所示,该方法包括:
步骤101、当栅极驱动信号到来时,提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元驱动与之相连接的两行栅线同时打开,设置在每列子像素单元两侧的第一数据线和第二数据线分别为与之相连接的子像素单元充电,使得与所述两行栅线相连接的子像素单元同时充电。
所述面板的驱动过程中,在步骤101之后的每一个步骤都与步骤101相同,随着逐步的扫描,完成对所述面板上所有子像素单元的充电,具体的过程参照上述实施例,在此不再赘述。
通过当每一个栅极驱动信号到来时,与两行栅线相连接的子像素单元同时充电来改善像素的充电率并且降低面板的逻辑功耗。
进一步的,所述提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元与相邻的栅线连接。
当栅极驱动信号到来时,提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元25连接的相邻两行栅线24同时打开,每列子像素单元的两侧分别设置有为该列像素单元提供数据信号的第一数据线22和第二数据线23分别为与之相连接的子像素单元充电,区别于现有技术只能为一行栅线相连接的子像素单元充电,该TFT-LCD面板不仅能够增加像素的充电时间以改善像素的充电率,还能够降低面板上时钟脉冲的频率以降低面板的逻辑功耗。

1.一种TFT-LCD面板,包括:由数行栅线和数列数据线交叉定义的数个子像素单元,每行栅线连接一个用于提供栅极驱动信号的GOA单元,其特征在于,
每列子像素单元的两侧分别设置有为该列像素单元提供数据信号的第一数据线和第二数据线;
每列相邻的两个子像素单元分别与所述第一数据线和第二数据线连接;
每两个GOA单元提供相同的栅极驱动信号,且所述提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元中的一个GOA单元与奇数行栅线连接,另一个GOA单元与偶数行栅线连接。
2.根据权利要求1所述的TFT-LCD面板,其特征在于,
所述提供相同的栅极驱动信号的两个GOA单元与相邻的栅线连接。
