Abstract

The invention provides a method and a device for reporting power margin information. The method comprises the following step that: user equipment (UE) informs a base station of the PH information by using residual bits in a media access control sub-layer protocol data unit (MACPDU) when the number of the residual bits in the MACPDU sent to the base station by the UE is greater than or equal to the number of the bits occupied by the PH information and when the MACPDU does not include corresponding PH information sent this time. The method and the device for reporting power margin information can enable the base station to know practical power margin information of the UE in time so as to enhance the uniformity of the base station and the UE for understanding the PH information.

Technical Field
The present invention relates to power control technology in a mobile communication system, and in particular, to a method and apparatus for reporting Power Headroom (PH) information.
Background
In the existing Long Term Evolution (LTE) system, the PH information is information for identifying a UE-side power headroom. This information is obtained by the UE according to the formula PH Pmax-Ppusch. The PH is a power headroom, Pmax is a maximum transmission power of the UE, and Ppusch is a power used by an uplink shared channel (PUSCH) carrying the PH information. In practical application, the UE may adjust Ppusch according to a TPC power control adjustment command word of a PUSCH channel generated by a physical layer. The TPC power control adjustment command word is generated by comparing the actual received signal condition on the uplink PUSCH channel of the UE by the base station with a target value preset by the system, and if the actual received signal is lower than the target value, the base station informs the UE to adjust the transmit power up through the TPC power control adjustment command word, and at this time, the UE will increase the transmit power at the time of PUSCH transmission at the corresponding time; if the received actual signal is higher than the target value, the base station informs the UE to adjust the transmission power downwards through the TPC power control adjustment command word, and at the moment, the UE reduces the transmission power correspondingly during the PUSCH transmission at the corresponding moment.
And after the PH information is obtained by the UE according to the method, reporting the PH information to the base station side according to a certain reporting mechanism. When a medium access control sublayer (MAC) on a base station side schedules and allocates resources to a User Equipment (UE), power headroom information (PH) on the UE side needs to be considered, so as to ensure that power required by the MAC to allocate the resources to the UE does not exceed the maximum transmission power of the UE. If the understanding of the PH is not consistent enough between the UE and the base station, the accuracy of the base station's resource allocation and power requirements for the UE will be affected. For example, if the power margin of the UE saved by the base station side is higher than the power margin at the time corresponding to the UE side, the power required by the PUSCH resource allocated by the base station to the UE may not exceed the maximum transmission power of the UE for the base station, but may already exceed the maximum transmission power of the UE for the UE, and in this case, due to the limitation of the maximum transmission power of the UE, the power corresponding to the PUSCH data actually transmitted by the UE may not meet the expected requirement of the network. Conversely, if the power headroom of the UE understood by the base station is lower than the actual power headroom of the UE, it may happen that the resource allocated by the network for the UE is reserved for the UE, thereby resulting in that the single transmission throughput of the UE cannot be maximized. Therefore, the accuracy of the PH information maintained by the base station, that is, the consistency of understanding the PH between the UE and the base station, will have a great influence on the optimal configuration of resources.
Currently, the UE reports the PH information to the base station through a power headroom control element (PH CE) in a MAC protocol data unit (MAC PDU). The MAC PDU in the existing protocol mainly includes the following parts: a MAC PDU header, 0 or more MAC service data units (MAC SDUs), 0 or more MAC control units (MAC CEs). Wherein, the MAC PDU head contains 1 or more MAC PDU subheads, and each MAC PDU subhead corresponds to 1 MAC SDU or 1 MAC CE or filling bit. The MAC CE including the PH information is called a PH CE, and accordingly, the MAC PDU subheader corresponding to the MAC CE is the MAC PDU subheader corresponding to the PH CE, and in addition, the lengths of 1 PH CE and the MAC PDU subheader corresponding thereto are 8 bits. In the existing protocol, the size of an uplink MAC PDU sent by a UE is directly specified by base station authorization, if data (including contents of a MAC CE and a MAC SDU) to be sent by an actual UE is smaller than the specified size, whether a Buffer status indication control unit (BSR CE) of a padding type exists or not is considered (Buffer data caching situation of the UE), and if there are remaining bits after the BSR CE of the padding type is included, the length of the MAC PDU to be sent is satisfied by using a padding bit method.
The existing methods for triggering the UE to report the PH information to the base station include the following steps:
1. when the variation amplitude of the path loss measured by the UE reaches a preset threshold, a reporting prohibition timer is overtime, and meanwhile, uplink authorization can send data, the UE triggers the reporting of PH information to a base station, wherein the reporting prohibition timer is used for limiting the time for prohibiting the reporting of the PH information;
2. and presetting a PH reporting period, and when one PH reporting period expires and uplink authorization can send data, triggering and reporting the PH information to the base station by the UE.
In the method for reporting PH information, if the preset threshold of the path loss variation range is set to be larger, or the PH reporting period is set to be longer, the interval between two times of obtaining the PH information by the base station may be longer. During the longer time interval, the base station and the UE respectively maintain the PH information stored in them, and during this time, the base station may adjust the transmit power of the UE through the TPC power control adjustment command word, and the TPC power control adjustment command word may have an error in actual transmission, which causes the Ppusch obtained by the UE according to the adjustment of the erroneous TPC power control adjustment command word to be inconsistent with the Ppusch understood by the base station, and accordingly, the PHs obtained by the base station and the UE according to the respectively understood Ppusch will also be inconsistent.
Therefore, the existing method for reporting the PH information may cause inconsistency between the base station and the UE in understanding the PH information.
Disclosure of Invention
In view of the above, the present invention provides a method and an apparatus for reporting PH information, which can improve consistency of understanding of the PH information by a base station and a UE.

Detailed Description

The main idea of the invention is as follows: in order to ensure that the power headroom information of the UE maintained by the base station is consistent with the actual power headroom information of the UE side as much as possible, the UE needs to send its own PH information to the base station as soon as possible. Therefore, the invention provides that the MAC PDU with the surplus bit carries the PH information corresponding to the current data sent by the UE, so that the base station can possibly acquire the actual power headroom information of the UE as long as data transmission exists, the base station can acquire the actual power headroom information of the UE as soon as possible, the accuracy of the PH information maintained by the base station is improved, and simultaneously, the resource overhead generated when the UE needs to report the PH information to the base station specially in the prior art can be avoided.
The first embodiment of the method of the invention mainly comprises the following steps:
step 101, when the remaining bit number in the MAC PDU sent by the UE to the base station is greater than or equal to the bit number occupied by the PH information and the MAC PDU does not contain the PH information corresponding to the current transmission, the UE notifies the base station of the PH information corresponding to the current transmission by using the remaining bit number of the MAC PDU.
The remaining bits refer to bits that are not filled after all valid data, filled BSR CE information, and corresponding MAC PDU subheader information are placed in a MAC PDU of a preset length, and the part of bits are filled with filling bits in the existing protocol.
Here, the PH information is usually carried by a PH CE in a MAC PDU, and therefore, usually, only when remaining bits in the MAC PDU allow at least 1 PH CE to be placed, the MAC PDU may carry the PH information, that is, when the remaining number of bits in the MAC PDU sent by the UE to the base station in this step is greater than or equal to the number of bits occupied by the PH information, the following steps are performed: and the remaining bit number in the MAC PDU is greater than or equal to the length of a PH control unit PH CE used for storing the PH information, and at the moment, the MAC PDU carries the PH CE. In specific implementation, the PH CE may be directly connected in series to the valid data portion in the MAC PDU, or may be connected in series to the last MAC CE in the MAC PDU, and when the base station receives the MAC PDU, the base station may detect the PH information at the above location.
In addition, when the remaining bit number is greater than or equal to the sum of the lengths of the PH CE and the MAC PDU subheader corresponding thereto, the MAC PDU may further carry the MAC PDU subheader corresponding to the PH CE, so that after the base station receives the MAC PDU, the PH information may be searched from the MAC PDU according to the indication of the MAC PDU subheader, and thus consistency of understanding the PH information between the UE and the NB may be further improved. In addition, in specific implementation, the MAC PDU subheader may be located after a MAC PDU subheader corresponding to a last MAC CE in the MAC PDU, or may be located after a last MAC PDU subheader in the MAC PDU.
Preferably, step 101 may be further combined with one or more existing methods for reporting PH information to further improve the consistency of the base station and the UE in understanding the PH information, for example, the present invention may further include:

Therefore, even if the sent MAC PDU cannot carry PH information in a period of time due to extreme conditions such as busy data transmission, the UE can still report the PH information to the base station in time by utilizing the existing trigger mechanism for reporting the PH information, and the consistency of understanding the PH information by the base station and the UE is further ensured.
The method for reporting the power headroom information in the embodiment of the present invention is described in detail above, and the apparatus for reporting the power headroom information in the embodiment of the present invention is described in detail below.
