Description

Method and device for controlling terminal antenna
Technical Field
The invention relates to a wireless terminal technology, in particular to a method and a device for controlling a terminal antenna.
Background
Wireless terminals such as mobile phones and network cards communicate with a network through electromagnetic waves. The wireless performance of a wireless terminal directly affects the normal use of the wireless terminal.

To improve the wireless terminal's ability to receive network signals, the wireless terminal is enabled to receive smaller network signals. Currently, most wireless terminals have a receive diversity function. As shown in fig. 1, a related art wireless terminal having a receive diversity function is provided with a main set antenna and a diversity antenna. The main antenna is connected with the main receiving path and the main transmitting path through the duplexer, and the main antenna is a receiving/transmitting antenna of the wireless terminal. The diversity antenna is connected to the diversity reception path, and the diversity antenna is a radio reception antenna. The main antenna and the diversity antenna 5 are respectively arranged at different parts of the wireless terminal to ensure that the main antenna and the diversity antenna have enough isolation.
In the process of implementing the invention, the inventor of the invention finds that the following problems exist in the prior art: when an object (particularly, a metal object) is placed near the main set antenna of the wireless terminal, the wireless performance of the main set receiving path and the main set transmitting path deteriorates, that is, the network signal received by the main set receiving path becomes small and the network signal transmitted by the main set transmitting path becomes large. However, the diversity antenna and the diversity receiving path can only improve the wireless performance of the main set receiving path, and the deterioration of the wireless performance of the main set transmitting path can lead to the increase of the output power of the power amplifier of the main set transmitting path, so that the power consumption of the wireless terminal is increased and the battery service time is shortened.

In the present embodiment, if the operating current I2Greater than the operating current I1Then baseband processing chip 607 switches primary set antenna 601 and diversity antenna 602 directly to connection 1 mode without switching primary set antenna 601 and diversity antenna 602 according to the switching period.

For example, the baseband processing chip 607 outputs a switch control signal to turn on the rf switches 604 and 605 according to the 2 nd connection mode of the built-in main set antenna 601 and the diversity antenna 602, so that the diversity antenna 602 is connected to the main set receiving path 609 and the main set transmitting path 610 through the rf switch 605 and the duplexer 608; the main set antenna 601 is connected to a diversity receive path 611 through a radio frequency switch 604.
When the wireless performance of the diversity antenna 602 deteriorates, the power amplifier 613 increases the transmission power of the handset transmission signal, so that the operating current of the power amplifier 613 also increases.
The baseband processing chip 607 detects the operating current I of the power amplifier 6133The baseband processing chip 607 outputs the operating current I of the power amplifier 613 to 500mA3500mA and a reference working current Iref2Comparing with 450mA to judge I3Is greater than Iref2The baseband processing chip 607 outputs a switch control signal to the rf switches 603-606, turns off the rf switches 604 and 605, turns on the rf switches 603 and 606, and switches the main set antenna 601 and the diversity antenna 602 to the 1 st connection mode, that is, the main set antenna 601 is connected to the main set receiving path 609 and the main set transmitting path 610 through the rf switch 603 and the duplexer 608; diversity antenna 602 is connected to diversity receive path 611 through radio frequency switch 606.
The power amplifier 613 detected by the baseband processing chip 607 has an operating current I in the 1 st connection mode4Is 430 mA. The baseband processing chip 607 outputs the operating current I3And an operating current I4Comparing to determine the working current I3Greater than the operating current I4Then the baseband processing chip 607 causes the main set antenna 601 and the diversity antenna 602 to operate in connection 1 mode.
The rf switches 603-606 in this embodiment can also be implemented by two single-pole double-throw three-terminal rf switches, wherein one port of one three-terminal rf switch is connected to the duplexer, and two outer ports are respectively connected to the main antenna 601 and the diversity antenna 602; one port of the other three-terminal radio frequency switch is connected with a diversity receiving path, and the two outer ports are respectively connected with a main set antenna 601 and a diversity antenna 602. The baseband processing chip 607 can respectively realize the 1 st connection mode and the 2 nd connection mode by outputting the rf switch control signal.
The method has the advantages that the working current of the power amplifier is detected, the better antenna is selected as the antenna of the main set receiving and transmitting path, the wireless performance of the main set transmitting path of the terminal is improved, the output power and the working current of the power amplifier in the main set transmitting path are reduced, the power consumption of the wireless terminal is reduced, and the service life of a battery of the wireless terminal is prolonged.
The above description is only an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, and is not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. Any equivalent changes and modifications that can be made by one skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and principles of the invention should fall within the protection scope of the invention.
