Abstract
本发明涉及一种适合于着色聚酯材料的二氧化钛基浓色母料,基于所述母料的重量,所述母料包括大于 50%的二氧化钛,多达20%的选自由单硬脂酸甘油酯、氢化蓖麻油和聚乙氧基化二醇组成的组中的至少一种蜡,以及多达 30%的至少一种聚酯。
Description
本发明属于聚酯材料领域,更具体地说属于在包装(如瓶)生产中用于聚酯的浓色母料(色母料,colour concentrate)领域,其中包装用于储存对可见光或紫外光敏感的产品。
如果没有小心包装和处理在食品杂货店出售的牛奶和其它乳制品,则光对牛奶和其它乳制品的影响可以有害地影响产品。可以采用各种对策(策略)以最小化或消除牛奶中的光氧化,其可以由光的影响产生。使用适当配制(设计)的着色容器可以显著地降低牛奶氧化和维生素损耗,然而,存在某些与颜料有关的潜在问题。通过控制储存照明(store lighting)、设置适当的储存温度以及使用封闭的储存箱,可以在较大程度上防止牛奶中营养物的损失。
今天,几乎所有牛奶都是在零售商店如超市和便利店购买。高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)瓶仍然广泛用作牛奶的包装,因为消费者喜欢其容易处理、可再密封性以及可见的填充水平。最初,HDPE代替玻璃瓶,但自从1971年以来,其增长已变得很大程度上以纸盒(paper carton)为代价。目前还使用包装材料如袋,但尤其发现聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)瓶正越来越受到关注。与乳制品/牛奶的保护有关的技术困难到目前为止已阻止了PET包装应用于该领域。
已进行了尝试来改进瓶从而将透光率(光透射率,lighttransmission)降至最小程度。这些尝试包括使用紫外(UV)光吸收剂,以及将各种颜料加入到塑料中。玻璃使得可以获得通过可见光谱的最高透光率。将UV吸收剂加入到天然瓶(natural bottle)中能在低于380纳米的紫外光范围中提供优异的保护,但在400-550纳米的可见的、关键(临界)的蓝-紫色可见光范围中则几乎没有产生益处。
现有技术的多层瓶(含有TiO2的PET/黑色层(PET)/含有TiO2的PET)并不允许光透射,然而,黑色层发光通过瓶(实际上灰色外观)并且该多层更昂贵以及加工更困难。这同样适用于具有红色层(吸收大多数红色达550nm)的多层,因为红色层照射透过(shinethrough),这导致微红、带粉红色的外观。
将白色颜料(二氧化钛,TiO2)加入到材料中能显著降低,但并不完全消除在有害蓝-紫色区域中的透光率。纸盒并不是完全不透明的。它同样允许在关键的可见区中的某些透光率。然而,通过在聚酯中加入高水平的TiO2,即4wt.%以上的量,可以获得具有一定程度透射(透射度)的不透明材料,其中透射度足够低以储存UHT处理的乳制品足够长的时间周期。通常,这种类型的奶制品(乳制品)在冷藏箱外具有约3个月的保存期。在WO 2005/102865中,描述了这样的包装材料。
如所指出的,在WO 2005/102865中描述的瓶提供了相当好的不透明性和其内含物的保护(遮蔽,shielding)。然而,仍然需要改进。另外,材料的操作(加工)性能并不是非常好,因为它在吹塑后对分层相对敏感。这意味着在包装壁中会发生分层,结果导致降低的隔离性能和包装的破坏(断裂),尤其是在压力下。
这种现象的原因是不确定的,但目前已发现,通过使用特定的二氧化钛基浓色母料,可以克服这些问题。另外,已发现,在使用组分的某些特定组合的情况下,可以改善材料的透射(或光阻挡)性能。
在第一种具体实施方式中,本发明因此涉及一种适合于着色聚酯材料的二氧化钛基浓色母料,基于母料的重量,所述母料包括:大于50%的二氧化钛;多达20%的选自由单硬脂酸甘油酯、氢化蓖麻油以及聚乙氧基化二醇(polyethoxylated glycol)组成的组中的至少一种蜡;以及多达30%的至少一种聚酯,如聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯。
本发明涉及在母料中组合使用二氧化钛、一种特定的蜡以及聚酯。在着色吹塑瓶或其它双轴拉伸包装材料中使用基于这些组分的母料可导致产品具有良好的抗分层性(即使材料具有高含量的二氧化钛),而同时具有良好的透射分布,即对于可见光和紫外光是不透明的,从而提供使乳制品具有较长的保存期的包装。应当注意到,其它添加剂系统,如在美国专利6,649,083中所描述的那些系统,并不提供通过本发明的化合物组合所获得的优异性能,如在比较例中所示出的。
母料的第一组分是二氧化钛。其可以以各种晶形存在,其中金红石和锐钛矿是最重要的。二氧化钛的量大于50wt.%,优选至少60wt.%。上限并不是非常关键的,但对于实用目的来说,至多75wt.%的量是优选的。
第二组分是蜡,其优选以1至10wt.%的量存在。该蜡选自由单硬脂酸甘油酯、氢化蓖麻油以及聚乙氧基化二醇组成的组。
通常,优选的是,该蜡具有以下性能:
-在20℃下为固体并在该温度下具有一定的稠度,其可以从软和塑性的到脆和硬性的变化;
-如果为固体,那么粗化成(coarse to)细晶状的、透明的至不透明的,但不是玻璃状的;
-在40℃以上熔化而没有分解;
-在稍微高于其熔点的温度下,具有相对较低的粘度;
-通过改变温度,可以显著地变化稠度和溶解度;
-可以在轻压下通过磨光而加以抛光。
在使用聚乙氧基化二醇的情况下,这里优选为聚乙二醇。蜡的组合还可以用于本发明。
本发明材料的另外的组分是至少一种聚酯,可选地为两种或更多种聚酯的组合。其量为多达30wt.%,优选为至少5wt.%。
适宜的聚酯是二元酸和二醇的缩合产物。通常,二元酸包括芳族二元酸、或其酯或酸酐,如间苯二酸、对苯二酸、萘-1,4-二羧酸、萘-2,6,-二羧酸、苯二甲酸、邻苯二甲酸酐、四氢化邻苯二甲酸酐、偏苯三(甲)酸酐(1,2,4-苯三酸酐)、二苯氧基乙烷-4,4′-二羧酸、二苯基-4,4′-二羧酸、以及它们的混合物。二元酸还可以是脂肪族二元酸或酸酐,如己二酸、癸二酸、癸烷-1,10-二羧酸、富马酸、丁二酸酐、琥珀酸、环己烷基乙酰乙酸、戊二酸、壬二酸(azeleic acid)、以及它们的混合物。还可以使用本领域技术人员已知的其它芳族和脂肪族二元酸。优选地,二元酸包括芳族二元酸,可选地进一步包括多达约20%(按二元酸组分的重量计)的脂肪族二元酸。
二醇、或二元醇、聚酯的组分包括乙二醇、丙二醇、1,4-丁二醇、二甘醇、聚乙二醇、聚丙二醇、新戊二醇、聚四亚甲基二醇、1,6-己二醇、1,5-戊二醇、3-甲基戊二醇-(2,4)、2-甲基戊二醇-(1,4)、2,2,4-三甲基戊二醇-(1,3)、2-乙基己二醇-(1,3)、2,2-二乙基丙二醇-(1,3)、己二醇-(1,3)、1,4-二-(羟乙氧基)苯、2,2-二-(4-羟基环己基)丙烷、2,4-二羟基-1,1,3,3-四甲基环丁烷、2,2-二-(3-羟基乙氧基苯基)丙烷、2,2-二-(4-羟基丙氧基苯基)丙烷、1,4-二羟甲基环己烷、以及它们的混合物。本领域技术人员已知的另外的二醇类也可以用作稀释聚酯的二醇组分。
尤其是,聚酯优选包括PET,例如但不限于,未用过的瓶级PET或使用后的(postconsumer)PET(PC-PET)、环己烷二甲醇/PET共聚物(PETG)、聚萘二甲酸乙二醇酯(PEN)、聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯(PBT)、以及它们的混合物。适宜的聚酯还可以包括不同于先前限定的简单聚酯的正式母体(形式前体,formal precursor)的聚合物键、侧链、以及端基。
用于本发明的适宜的聚酯通常具有约0.2至约1.2的特性粘度,并且更优选约0.2至约0.6(对于酚/四氯乙烷溶剂的60/40掺合物)。对于PET,0.6的特性粘度值大约对应于36,000的粘均分子量,而1.2的特性粘度值大约对应于103,000的粘均分子量。
聚酯可以可选地包括添加剂,其并不有害地影响预掺合物(preblend)、或预制品或由其制备的容器。可选的添加剂包括但不限于:稳定剂,例如,抗氧化剂或紫外光屏蔽剂,助挤剂,干燥剂,填料,防阻塞剂,结晶助剂,冲击改性剂,设计成使聚合物更易降解或易燃的添加剂,染料,其它颜料,以及它们的混合物。可选的添加剂在聚酯中以单独地为0%至约2%(按聚酯的重量计)的量,以及总共为0%至约10%(按聚酯的重量计)的量存在。染料和其它颜料可以用来向最终产品提供特定颜色,而没有负面地影响透射性能。
为了改善最终包装的光透射性能,即,降低对光敏产品,如乳制品的保存期有害的可见光和紫外光部分的透射,可以加入一定量的氧化铁或混合的金属氧化物,其包括Ni、Fe、Mn、Ti、Co、Cr、Cu、Sn、Sb以及组合。实例是颜料黑11(CI号77499)、颜料黑12(CI号77543)、颜料黑28(CI号77428)或颜料黑30(CI号77504)以及它们的混合物。这些化合物可以商业上购买自颜料生产公司,例如,Shepherd Colour Company,Cincinnati,USA。这种量可以高达3wt.%。优选的量在0.1到1wt.%之间。在母料中可以使用的其它组分是石墨和炭黑。
可以利用技术人员已知的适合方法来制备母料。优选的方法是基于在一定温度下熔体混合(熔融掺混,melt blending)各种组分,由此聚酯和蜡状化合物为熔融形式。随后使由此获得的熔化物(熔体,melt)变成适当的固体形式。可以在挤压机中适当地进行熔体混合,并将冷却的挤出物切割成适当尺寸的产品。
本发明还涉及母料在着色通过将预制品吹塑成适当形状的产品而由聚酯,更特别地由PET、PBT以及PEN制备的包装,包括瓶中的应用。通常通过连同聚酯(以及可选的其它添加剂)将颗粒形式的母料供给到挤压机(在其上制备预制品),而将母料加入到制备预制品的聚酯中。然后,在分开的步骤中,将预制品吹塑成最终包装(瓶)。用于制备预制品和用于吹塑最终产品的条件是常规条件,其可以由普通技术人员容易地加以确定,其中基于所涉及的各种参数,如瓶的类型和尺寸、聚酯的类型等。
加入聚酯中的母料量可以在较宽的范围之间变化。基于聚酯和母料的联合重量(组合重量,combined weight),优选的量为高达15wt.%的母料。更优选的量在2.5到15wt.%之间。可以使用比15wt.%更高的量,但通常没有必要,如从实施例可以看到的。
现基于以下非限制性的实施例来说明本发明。
实施例
混合3490克TiO2、1250克PET树脂(IV为0.60)、250克GMS(单硬脂酸甘油酯)以及10克的颜料黑12(CI号77543)的混合物,然后用实验室挤压机(APV 19mm双螺杆)并在270到240℃之间的温度分布下以300rpm进行复合/粒化。
在几个浓度(1、2、4、6、8、10、12wt%)下,通过注射成型(Boy50T2)和拉伸吹塑(来自Suyash PET International Ltd.的SP 2000B B/J),使用所得到的粒料(granulate)来制备瓶。
商用60%TiO2母料(母炼胶,masterbatch)用作比较标准。通过注射成型、利用如上所述的相同设备、并在几个浓度(1、2、6、12、17.5、22.5以及29wt%)下,使用母料来制备瓶。
利用装备有积分球(累计球)的Cary 5000收集吹制的瓶的200-700nm的透射曲线。在550nm处的%透射作为定量水平(剂量水平,dosing level)的函数。结果示于图1中。如可以看到的,与使用标准母料相比,使用本发明的母料(UHT白色),透射光的量显著更低并在更低的定量水平。
比较例
为了比较来自美国专利6,469,083的结果与来自本发明的结果,制备了两种样品,其由70.0重量份的添加剂包装(仅由TiO2颜料构成),以及30.0重量份的载体(carrier)组成。
样品R7923,组分:部分氢化木松香的季戊四醇酯,20.0%(wt)(Hercules FORAL 105);核-壳聚合物,22.0%(wt)(Rohm&Haas PARALOID EXL-2300);热塑性PET(SIV=0.94dL/g),58.0%(wt)(Die Mossi & Ghisolfi-Gruppe TRAYTUF T95)。
样品R7924,组分:部分氢化木松香的季戊四醇酯,20.0%(wt)(Hercules FORAL 105);核-壳聚合物,22.0%(wt)(Rohm &Haas PARALOID EXL-2600);热塑性PET(SIV=0.94dL/g),58.0%(wt)(Die Mossi & Ghisolfi-Gruppe TRAYTUF T95)。
在两种情况下,用实验室挤压机(APV 19mm双螺杆)并在270到240℃之间的温度分布下以300rpm对组分进行干混合和复合/粒化。通过注射成型(Arburg Allrounder 320)和拉伸吹塑(来自Suyash PET International Ltd.的SP 2000B B/J)并以10和14%,使用所得到的粒料来制备瓶。为了比较,以5和10%定量供给(dose)在实施例1中所描述的样品材料UHT白色。
图2示出了来自吹制瓶的300-700nm的透射测量结果,其是利用装备有积分球的Cary 5000而收集的。如可以看到的,与比较样品R7923和R7924相比,使用本发明的母料(UHT白色),透射光的量显著更低并在更低的定量水平。
Claims (13)
1.适合于着色聚酯材料的二氧化钛基浓色母料,基于所述母料的重量,所述母料包括大于50%的二氧化钛,多达20%的选自由单硬脂酸甘油酯、氢化蓖麻油和聚乙氧基化二醇组成的组中的至少一种蜡,以及多达30%的聚酯。
2.根据权利要求1所述的浓色母料,其中,所述母料中的二氧化钛的量在60wt.%到75wt.%之间。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的浓色母料,其中,蜡的量在1wt.%到10wt.%之间。
4.根据权利要求1-3所述的浓色母料,其中,聚酯的量为至少5wt.%。
5.根据权利要求1-4所述的浓色母料,其中,所述聚酯是具有的特性粘度(IV)在0.2到1.2之间,优选在0.2到0.65之间的聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯。
6.根据权利要求1-5所述的浓色母料,其中,在所述母料中存在另外的氧化铁、混合的金属氧化物、石墨、炭黑或它们的组合,优选以高达3wt.%的量存在。
7.根据权利要求1-6所述的母料,其中,所述混合氧化物选自颜料黑11(CI号77499)、颜料黑12(CI号77543)、颜料黑28(CI号77428)或颜料黑30(CI号77504)以及它们的混合物。
8.根据权利要求1-7所述的浓色母料,其中,所述母料额外包含另外的聚酯,所述聚酯优先选自聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯、环己烷二甲醇/PET共聚物(PETG)、聚萘二甲酸乙二醇酯(PEN)、聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯(PBT)、以及它们的混合物的组。
9.根据权利要求1-8所述的浓色母料在用于着色聚酯,如聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯、聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯或聚萘二甲酸乙二醇酯,优选用于瓶或其它容器的聚酯预制品中的应用。
10.根据权利要求9所述的应用,其中,所述瓶用于储存光敏产品,如奶或奶制品。
11.用于制备适合于储存奶或奶制品并对于可见光和紫外光具有低透射的聚酯瓶的方法,所述方法包括由所述聚酯和根据权利要求1-8所述的母料生产用于所述瓶的预制品,以及将所述预制品吹塑成瓶。
12.根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中,所述母料的用量为所述聚酯重量的2.5至15wt.%。
13.由权利要求11或12所述的方法制备的瓶。
