Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及一种叠层的带状包装材料,它有一个芯层和敷设在芯层一侧的一个金属层或金属氧化物层。本发明还涉及一种制造该叠层带状包装材料的方法以及用该材料制出的包装容器。
背景技术
在包装行业中,长期使用一次性包装件(所谓用一次即处置的包装件)来包装和运送产品如液态食品。这些一次性包装件极大部分使用叠层包装材料,该材料有一纸或纸板的芯层,在其两侧敷有塑料最好是聚乙烯的液密覆盖层。
包装材料的组成希望能给包装产品的包装件带来尽可能好的产品保护性能同时使包装件不仅容易制造,而且容易搬运。芯层可赋予包装件的外形良好的机械稳定性,使该包装件能以简单的方式被分发,方便地被搬运,同时由于外表塑料的液密覆盖层能提供有效的保护不让水分和液体浸入到包装材料内。最好外表的液密塑料覆盖层由热塑性塑料如聚乙烯构成,这种塑料还能赋予叠层包装材料良好的热密封性能,在将包装材料转变成为成品包装容器时使包装件可用传统的热密封方法永久地具有所需的几何形状。
这种包装容器通常这样制造,把包装材料带的长边互相连结,使带状改变成为管状,此后在管内填充所要装的内含物,并沿着狭窄的、横向上的、互相间隔开的密封段予以密封。然后,在上述密封段内切割,使管子上含有所需内含物而被密封的部分从管子上分离,并被折叠成为任选的几何形状,该形状取决于密封接线或焊缝的取向。
具有一个芯层和外表塑料盖覆层的叠层包装材料如上所述可合理地制出形状稳定的、液密的包装件,该包装件对水分和液体具有优越的密封性能,但对气体,特别是氧气,几乎完全缺乏密封性。
为了补充现有技术的叠层包装材料的这种气密性的不足,在本行业中已知的方法是在该包装材料的芯层的一侧、在芯层和外表塑料覆盖层之间增设一层金属或金属氧化物例如铝(铝箔)。
上述包装容器的一个共同特点是如果管子接线或焊缝属于叠置式,包装材料的切割边就会向成品包装的内含物暴露,这又意味着,如果包装材料含有吸收材料如纸或纸板时,内含物将会被吸入到包装材料内。如果内含物被消过毒并在无菌的条件下包装,那么这个没有保护的切割边必须不能与内含物接触,并且必须用某些方式加以保护。
在很多情况下,包装材料带在被形成管状之前往往经过一个消毒阶段,例如把它浸在过氧化氢溶液浴内。如果芯层含有纤维的吸收材料,那么另一个会发生的缺点是,包装材料在吸收消毒液后,消毒液容易发生蒸汽泡以致给纵向接头招来麻烦。因此从这个角度看,也应保护好切割边,不让液体和水分侵入。
为什么切割边必须与被包装的产品隔开,最重要的理由是,当包装材料含有金属层时,按照包装食品的法律和规定,该金属不可与食品直接接触,因为金属对食品这种产品有负面影响。
防止切割边与包装件的内含物直接接触的一种已知方法是用纵向的塑料带把切割边覆盖起来,该塑料带在形成管子的同时向前移动、越过切割边并焊封在包装材料内部的塑料覆盖层上。这个方法只是偶而使用,因为松散的塑料带必须结合纵向接线的密封操作定位。
解决包装材料的切割边的密封/气密问题的另一种方法是,在制造包装材料时,使内部塑料层的宽度伸出到芯层或承载层之外形成一个边缘段,在制造包装材料管时,所说边缘段与对面的内部塑料覆盖层的边缘段叠合而被焊封,这样切割边就自动被密封。
瑞典专利SE78121423曾说明含有铝箔层的包装材料管内侧纵向接头的切割边如何被伸出的铝箔带和塑料带覆盖,这两种带都伸出到芯层之外并被焊封到对面边缘段的内部塑料覆盖层上。这样当常会粘附在纤维的芯层或承载层上的水分蒸发时,由于还有铝箔带覆盖切割边,在纵向接头的密封上便可防止发生蒸汽泡。
但人们证实,要将这样薄的伸出的塑料带焊封到对面边缘区的内部塑料层上是有一定困难的,一方面因为在进行焊封操作时很难使伸出的塑料带保持在位,另一方面因为很难控制焊封工具使它同时而又相等地将焊封压力施加在自由塑料带和纵向接线区内的叠合区域上。
英国专利GB1013656曾说明一种折转的方法,该方法将上述这样伸出的塑料带绕过叠合的叠层结构的边缘折转,并将它焊封到在下面的对面边缘段的覆盖着塑料的内侧。在这样一个折转操作中,要以可靠的操作方式使纵向接头受到保护并且包装材料管的整个长度都不漏气,伸出边缘带的定位也是一件难事。
具有塑料带从基带边缘上伸出的各种方法的共同特点是在制造包装材料时叠层过程将变得须随情况而定从而变得复杂。或者包括伸出带在内的材料层必须这样敷设使它延伸到叠层结构基带的其余部分的边缘之外,或者这一层必须首先敷设,然后在第二阶段,使它在边缘段区域脱离叠层结构并从叠层结构基带的其余部分上释放出来。
上述现有技术的工艺是根据这样一个假设制定的,即包装材料的一条边与对面的边叠合,因此包装材料管的纵向接头牢固而耐用,但同时发生的缺点是包装容器在纵向接线区域的厚度将是包装件其余部分的两倍。
本发明的目的
因此本发明的一个目的是要提供一种新的叠层包装材料,其型式如同前言所说明的那样,但没有与现有技术的方法紧密相关的那种性质的问题。
本发明的另一目的是要提供一种气密和液密包装容器用的包装材料,该材料能在包装容器的纵向接线上具有改进的气密和液密性能。
本发明还有另一个目的是要提供一种包装容器用的包装材料。该容器具有基本上为平面的纵向接线。技术方案
上述这些和其它一些目的按照本发明都可被具有所附权利要求1内特征部分所列出的特征的叠层包装材料达到。本发明的较优实施例还被赋予所附从属权利要求2到4内所列出的特征。
按照本发明,叠层包装材料的芯层可由具有适当包装性能的、传统的纸或纸板的纤维层构成。其他材料如塑料的芯层也可被采用。这类塑料的例子是聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚酯、聚酰胺等,包括兼具固体结构和发泡或膨胀结构的塑料。
在芯层一侧作为气障的金属层可包括金属或金属氧化物或另外的无机化合物。这种气障层的较优的例子包括铝、氧化铝、或硅石氧化物SiOx,其中X可在1.5和2.2之间变化。这样一个气障层可借助于某些沉积技术如真空沉积以薄层直接敷设在芯层上,或以箔的形式借助于所谓粘性粘结剂层或叠合层叠置在芯层上。
金属层可沿一条边缘以各种不同的方式从芯层上露出,例如可在金属层上切出一槽,然后使金属层与芯层脱离叠合,或通过斜向撕裂或斜向切割。该边于是以这样一种方式被加工,即使在纵向接缝上的搭接,其厚度小于包装材料厚度的两倍,例如使该边缘成为L形或阶梯状,或作为另一种选择使其具有斜向切割出来的斜面。最好,金属层用斜切边缘的方法使它暴露,这样材料带的一条边缘的最外梢便包括暴露的金属或金属氧化物。
由于在包装容器的内侧暴露的金属或金属氧化物(即气障材料)的最外梢将叠置在对置边缘区内的气障材料上,但有一薄层的可热封塑料夹在其间,因此在纵向接线区域内可获得一改善的气障效果。而在传统的包装容器中,两个金属层是这样互相叠置的,即一个边缘的芯层和其他的中间层(如果有的话)介入到两个金属层之间。这样例如氧气便可透过这些缺乏气障性能的中间层,除非在纵向接线的内侧有其他装置例如具有优越气障性能的材料带予以密封,将不能阻止气体的侵入。
在按照本发明的包装材料中,被处理的边缘完全被一层可热封材料,最好为可挤出的热塑性材料覆盖。按照本发明在包装材料中可用作外覆盖塑料层的可热封塑料的例子是LDPE(低密度聚乙烯)、HDPE(高密度聚乙烯)、PP(聚丙烯)、和PET(聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯)。最好采用聚乙烯塑料。
包装材料的不同叠合层的厚度并不重要。在包装材料中各层可具有在已知包装材料中根据现有技术可使用的厚度。
如果能起到气障作用的金属或金属氧化物层在包装材料带的一条边缘上暴露,并被的塑料外层覆盖,那么在包装容器的纵向接线上就可得到既能液密又能气密的叠合,还能防止金属与内含物之间的直接接触。另外,所得到的叠合比包装材料厚度的两倍要薄。从纵向接线到周围包装材料的过渡区最好差不多成为平面,这样从包装容器的外侧看纵向接线将更为美观。
按照本发明的另一方面,对在纵向接线上具有提高的气密和液密性能并在外侧具有改善的美观的包装容器所用包装材料的制造提供了一种简单而有效的方法。该方法按照本发明曾被赋予权利要求5列出的特征,而该方法的有利而实用的特征则在从属权利要求6到8中列出。
按照本发明的另一个方面,提供了由权利要求1到4中说明的包装材料制出的包装容器。本发明的综述
带状包装材料的纵向边缘可这样被处理,即在金属层上切出一槽,然后使该层从芯层上脱离叠合,或通过斜向的撕裂或斜向的切割。这样处理的边缘使它有可能在纵向接线上叠置,以致其厚度小于包装材料厚度的两倍,这样的加工例如使该边缘成为L形或阶梯状外观,或作为另一种选择具有斜向切割出来的斜面。最好,金属层用斜切的方法使它暴露,这样材料带的一条边缘的最外梢便含有暴露的金属或金属氧化物。在斜向撕裂时,有必要插入一个额外的操作工步,以便在一条边缘上从金属层清除掉粘附的纤维,从而使金属层暴露。
按照本发明的一个较优的实施例,材料带的边缘被斜切,这样使一纵向边缘的最外梢含有暴露的金属。斜向切割可带来另外一个优点,即通过形成管状而制出包装容器所需的带宽比按照现有技术的方法在接线搭接以便制造出大小相同的包装容器所需的带宽小。粗略估计,材料消耗可降低约1-1.5%。
在斜向切割中,切割是在与材料带的水平平面成一角度的方向上进行的,该角度须足够小,以便使外表覆盖塑料层沿斜边缘得到良好的粘合,但同时该角度又须足够大,以便使该边缘在机械内和存储处搬运时较为耐用。
通过在一单独的敷设阶段将边缘包裹起来而将带的纵边缘用塑料覆盖,但最好材料带的边缘上的覆盖层由连续的塑料层联合部构成,该塑料层覆盖整个包装材料带的两侧。另外,边缘还可这样被覆盖,如用外表塑料层覆盖材料带的两侧并同时使塑料层延伸到带的边缘之外,在此使它们互相密封。
材料带的侧面和边缘可同时被覆盖,办法是在每一侧将预制塑料膜叠合在材料带上,或者通过挤出将塑料膜敷设在材料带的每一侧上。最好通过挤出将覆盖塑料层敷设在材料带的两侧和边缘上。
可以一次只对一条用来制造包装容器管的材料带进行边缘处理,或同时对几条并排运行的分开的基带进行边缘处理。同时对多条分开的基带进行边缘处理可这样实现,使原来较宽的材料带通过一道边缘处理分割操作沿长度方向分割成两条或多条分开的较窄基带,每一分开的基带可用来制造一个包装容器管。
然后将这样分割开并经过边缘处理的分开的基带按预定的相互隔开距离相互间隔开,在所有分开的基带的每侧都用塑料覆盖外层予以覆盖,此外层延伸越过分开的基带的总宽度并被固定在上述间隔开的基带上,形成一条较宽的连续带,此后,通过在基带的纵长边之间的空间内所形成的一条热塑性塑料层上进行切割,而使这些基带再一次沿长度方向分离。
塑料外层可同时敷设或在两个接续的阶段中敷设,然后将在分开的基带之间形成的双塑料层割开。它们也可分别在两个阶段敷设,带有一个中间阶段,该中间阶段包括将首次的单层塑料分割,该单层塑料在覆盖基带一侧时在基带之间形成,接下来再一次按预定的相互隔开距离相互间隔开基带(已在一侧被塑料层覆盖)。
在边缘处理后,准备用于管状成形的包装材料带在两侧并沿边缘完全由塑料覆盖,这种方案的固有优点是包装材料完全没有灰尘。任何在基带边缘处理时可能产生的松散纤维和灰尘都会被埋在塑料层之下,因此在制成包装容器并装入产品时不会发生任何问题。

图1概略地示出按照本发明的一个较优实施例中带状包装材料的纵长边的截面在各个不同阶段一直到包装容器的纵向接头连结在一起的例子。
带状包装材料具有一个由纸或纸板构成的芯层11和一个敷设在其上的金属层12如铝。金属层可通过叠合层13叠合在芯层上。芯层的一侧可设有从包装品的外面可看得到的印刷图案14。通过在带的纵长方向上斜切叠层材料带而将原来较宽的基带分割成多条较窄的基带部分(A),这样金属层将被暴露在一条纵长边的最外梢(B′)上。使新形成的分开的基带相互之间分隔开一个预定的距离(B),然后在两侧覆盖上塑料外层(C),该塑料外层在所有分开的基带的整个宽度上延伸,并在分开的基带之间形成一个塑料层的带(C′)。通过在分开的基带之间切断上述塑料层,分开的基带再一次相互被分离(D)。在将每个分开的基带重新成形为管状时,分开的基带的斜切边被相互叠置(E),使暴露并被塑料覆盖的金属边缘(E′)叠置在对面边缘的金属层上,此后边缘在这个位置(F)上被相互热封。按照本发明,在图1中所示的包装材料(E)可用在图2中概略示出的方式制造出来。为了清晰起见在图2中凡与图1相同或相当的零件均用与图1相同的标号表示。
一条纸或纸板构成的芯层带11和一条铝箔带12通过一个叠合层13的挤出被相互叠合在一起。这样形成的带状包装材料随后沿长度方向被分割成多条较窄的分开的基带(A)。接着并排精确运行的分开的基带以预定的互相隔开的距离被间隔开(B)。这个间隔开的操作例如可借助于所谓分布辊来进行,这些分布辊的对称轴线相互之间以这样一种方式略微偏置一定角度,即使这些分开的基带互相隔开,这样在分开的基带之间就可得到一个可调节的间距。
然后通过挤出一个在所有基带的整个宽度上延伸的塑料层(C1),分开的基带即被覆盖,这样就在分开的基带之间形成一个单层塑料层(C1′)。通过在分开的基带之间对塑料层的切割(D1),分开的基带再一次被相互分离,并且再一次被互相间隔开(C)。随后通过挤出一个在所有基带的整个宽度上延伸的第二塑料层(C2),而在一侧已经覆盖有塑料的分开的基带上在其另一侧加以覆盖,以致在分开的基带之间形成一个单层塑料层。最后通过在分开的基带之间对塑料层的切割(D2)便可再一次将分开的基带互相分离。
此后通过将这样一个分开的基带进行管状和折叠成形便可制出气密和液密的包装容器,在上述分开的基带由金属层沿材料基带的其中一个纵边缘从芯层露出并由一外层塑料覆盖,材料基带的纵长边在该外层塑料上沿管子纵长方向于一接线上互相密封,这样金属层或金属氧化层从芯层露出的边缘就叠置在材料基带相对边缘上的金属层上。最好,材料基带的纵长边被斜切并沿管子纵长方向在接线上互相叠合,使以叠合边和相邻的包装材料之间的过渡区在包装容器的内侧和外侧尽可能好地平坦。
从上面的说明显然可见,本发明能以简单的方式和简单的举措达到本发明的目的,并提供一种包装容器用的有效的叠层包装材料,该材料在纵向接头上具有提高的气密性和液密性,同时能保护所包装的产品,不让它与金属层直接接触,而且包装容器的接线能被制成良好的平坦状,不会在包装容器的外侧留下不好看的接线边。
Claims (11)
1.一种带状的叠层包装材料,具有一个芯层和一个敷设在芯层一侧的金属层或金属氧化物层,其特征为,所说金属层沿着包装材料的其中一个纵边缘从芯层暴露;并且芯层和暴露金属层二者的纵边缘都被塑料外层覆盖。
2.按照权利要求1的带状叠层包装材料,其特征为,其纵长边沿带的纵向被斜切,使金属层沿着一条边缘从芯层暴露,并且该边缘被塑料外层覆盖。
3.按照权利要求1或2的带状叠层包装材料,其特征为,金属层由铝构成。
4.按照权利要求1或2的带状叠层包装材料,其特征为,芯层由纸或纸板构成。
5.按照权利要求3的带状叠层包装材料,其特征为,芯层由纸或纸板构成。
6.一种制造带状叠层包装材料的方法,该材料具有一个芯层和一个敷设在芯层上的金属层或金属氧化物层,其特征为,该带被如此处理,即,使所说金属层沿一纵边缘从芯层暴露;并且该带,包括芯层和暴露金属层二者的纵边缘,此后在两侧被塑料外层覆盖。
7.按照权利要求6的带状叠层包装材料的制造方法,其特征为,带的纵边缘通过斜切而被处理。
8.按照权利要求6或7的带状叠层包装材料的制造方法,其特征为,具有一个芯层和一金属层的带沿长度方向被分割成至少两个较窄的分开的基带,与此同时这样形成的基带的纵边缘被加工,使所说金属层沿着每一基带上的一边缘从芯层暴露,此后分开的基带在两侧都被塑料外层覆盖。
9.按照权利要求8的带状叠层包装材料的制造方法,其特征为,在分割后,所说分开的基带按照预定的相互隔开距离被间隔开;并且这样间隔开的基带在两则都被塑料外层覆盖,该塑料层覆盖所有分开的基带并延伸越过基带的整个宽度,并被固定在所说间隔开的基带上,从而形成一个较宽的连续的带,随后通过在分开的基带的纵边缘之间切割热塑性塑料层,这些基带再一次沿长度方向被分割。

11.按照权利要求10的气密和液密的包装容器,其特征为,材料带的纵边缘被斜切,并沿管子纵向在接线上被相互叠置,使在叠置边缘和相邻的包装材料之间的过渡区在包装容器的内侧和外侧都尽可能好地平坦。
