Description

Floor vacuum cleaner
Technical Field
The present invention relates to floor vacuum cleaners.
Background
The vacuum cleaner can be used in a variety of different configurations or designs. The best known designs include upright vacuum cleaners, hand-held vacuum cleaners and floor vacuum cleaners.
An upright vacuum cleaner comprises a movable base unit above which is arranged an upper body with a vacuum cleaner container, wherein the two parts are mounted so as to be pivotable relative to each other. An electrically driven brush is typically provided in the base unit. For example, an upright vacuum cleaner is shown in EP 2030551. Such vacuum cleaners are sometimes referred to as brush/rapper type vacuum cleaners.
A hand-held vacuum cleaner includes a housing having a motor-driven fan and a dust collection chamber. A suction duct leads from one side of the housing, at the end of which a floor nozzle is arranged. Disposed on the other side of the housing is a handle, which is optionally disposed on the rod.
The floor vacuum cleaner comprises a housing mounted to the roller and/or wheel. A dust collection receptacle is disposed in the housing and contains a filter bag. The floor nozzle is connected to the dust collection chamber via a suction tube and a suction hose. In conventional floor vacuum cleaners, a motor-actuated fan unit is further arranged within the housing and generates a negative pressure within the dust collecting container. Thus, in the air flow direction, the motor-actuated fan unit is arranged downstream of the floor nozzle, the suction tube, the suction hose and the dust collecting container or filter bag, respectively. Such a motor-actuated electric fan unit is sometimes referred to as a purified air motor because clean air passes through the motor-actuated electric fan unit.
In particular, there are also vacuum cleaners from the front that draw dirty air directly across the motor fan and into the dust bag mounted immediately downstream. Examples of which are shown in US 2,101,390, US 2,036,056 and US 2,482,337. These forms of vacuum cleaners are no longer very common today.
Such dirty air or dirty air motor fans are also referred to as "dirty air motors" or "direct air motors". The use of such dirty air motors is also described in documents GB 554177, US 4,644,606, US 4,519,112, US 2002/0159897, US 5,573,369, US 2003/0202890 or US 6,171,054.
Disclosure of Invention
On this background, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved floor vacuum cleaner.
This object is achieved by the subject matter of claim 1. The floor vacuum cleaner according to the invention comprises a dust collector unit mounted to the roller and/or wheel, a suction hose, a suction tube and a floor nozzle,
wherein the floor nozzle is fluidly connected to the dust collector apparatus via the suction duct and the suction hose,
the dust collector apparatus includes a dust separator,
the dust collector arrangement comprises a motor-actuated fan unit for drawing an air flow through the floor nozzle, the motor-actuated fan unit being configured such that the air flow drawn in through the floor nozzle, the suction tube and the suction hose flows through the motor-actuated fan unit and into the dust separator,
the dust collector apparatus has a housing and the motor-actuated fan unit is mounted on or within the housing,
the dust separator is mounted within the housing.
Thus, a dirty air motor or a direct air motor is advantageously used in a floor vacuum cleaner. Even with low motor power, a high volume flow can be achieved by the floor vacuum cleaner according to the invention. The dirty air motor has, for example, a maximum speed of less than 30,000rpm and an electrical input power of less than 900W.
In the direction of the air flow, a floor nozzle, sometimes referred to as a "suction nozzle", is arranged upstream of the suction tube, which is arranged upstream of the suction hose, which is arranged upstream of the dust collector device. The air sucked by means of the motor-actuated fan unit flows in sequence through the floor nozzle, the suction tube, the suction hose into the dust collector device. Air enters the dust separator through a motor-actuated fan unit. Thus, in the dust collector arrangement, the motor-actuated fan unit is fluidly arranged upstream of the dust separator. Due to the fluid connection, a continuous air flow is ensured through the floor nozzle, the suction tube, the suction hose into the dust collector device, and in particular through the motor-actuated fan unit into the dust separator.
It has surprisingly been found that a dirty-air motor can also be used advantageously in a floor vacuum cleaner, in particular in order to convey sucked-in dirty air into a downstream dust separator.
In contrast to conventional floor vacuum cleaners, in which a negative pressure is present in the dust collector arrangement or the dust collecting chamber during operation, an overpressure in the floor vacuum cleaner according to the invention is present in the dust collector arrangement and its housing, respectively. In this way, the wall thickness of the dust collector arrangement can be reduced, or the use of stiffening elements (e.g. stiffening ribs) can be avoided to a lesser extent or even completely.
The housing can comprise a housing wall, in particular made of a plastic material.
The arrangement of the dust separator within the housing of the dust collector apparatus and the arrangement of the motor-actuated fan unit on or within the housing allows for a compact design of the dust collector apparatus, thereby allowing for a compact design of the floor vacuum cleaner as a whole.
The motor-actuated fan unit can be arranged (in particular during operation of the floor vacuum cleaner) on top of or above the dust separator or at the same height as the dust separator. Thus, in particular, the motor-actuated fan unit is not arranged below the dust separator. Thus, the delivery of dirty air by the motor-actuated fan unit does not have to occur against gravity or only to a small extent.
The motor-actuated fan unit can have a radial fan, in particular of a single stage. In radial fans, air is drawn in parallel or axially relative to the drive shaft of the fan wheel and deflected, in particular deflected by approximately 90 °, by the rotation of the fan wheel and blown out radially.
During operation of the floor vacuum cleaner, the rotational axis of the radial fan can be oriented vertically or at an angle of at most 60 °, in particular at most 45 °, relative to the vertical.
The motor-actuated fan unit can be arranged on the housing. In particular, during operation of the floor vacuum cleaner, the dust separator can be arranged below the motor-actuated fan unit or at the same height as the motor-actuated fan unit.
The motor-actuated fan unit can be constructed in such a way that: according to DIN EN 60312-1, in the state of the bore 8, at an electrical input power of less than 900W, the motor-actuated fan unit has a volume flow of more than 30L/S, in particular more than 40L/S, still in particular more than 50L/S. The motor-actuated fan unit can alternatively or additionally be configured in such a way that: according to DIN EN 60312-1, in the state of the bore 8, at an electrical input power of less than 600W, the motor-actuated fan unit has a volume flow of more than 25L/s, in particular more than 30L/s, still in particular more than 40L/s. The motor-actuated fan unit can alternatively or additionally be configured in such a way that: according to DIN EN 60312-1, in the state of the bore 8, at an electrical input power of less than 300W, the motor-actuated fan unit has a volume flow of more than 15L/s, in particular more than 25L/s, still in particular more than 30L/s.
In this way, a particularly effective floor vacuum cleaner is obtained.
Air data of a vacuum cleaner or motor actuated fan unit are determined according to DIN EN 60312-1: 2014-01. Reference is made in particular to section 5.8. Measuring device B according to section 7.3.7.3 was used. The measuring device B is also used if a fan unit without motor actuation of the vacuum cleaner housing is measured. For adapters, which may be necessary, for connection to the measurement chamber, the description in section 7.3.7.1 applies.
The terms "volume flow" and "suction air flow" are also used for the term "air flow" according to DIN EN 60312-1.
The floor nozzle can have a chassis with a base surface facing the surface to be sucked during operation of the floor vacuum cleaner, wherein the chassis has at least one air flow channel parallel to the base surface and the side of the chassis is provided with an opening. In particular, during operation of the floor vacuum cleaner, the base surface of the chassis can be placed on the surface to be suctioned or separated from the surface to be suctioned, for example by a bristle strip (bristle strip).
The chassis is also referred to as the nozzle base. The floor nozzle comprises a suction opening for creating a fluid connection with the motor-actuated fan unit. The suction opening is in fluid connection with at least one air flow channel. In order to obtain good suction power, the contact pressure of the floor nozzle is advantageously adjusted by means of at least one, in particular one or more, air flow channels. The opening provided in the side of the chassis is arranged transversely to the intended sliding direction of the floor nozzle. One or more air flow channels can be provided from one side of the chassis to the opposite side of the chassis (in each case transversely to the sliding direction). In such end-to-end air flow channels, one opening is provided for each channel on either (opposite) side of the chassis.
The suction tube can have a diameter ranging from 25mm to 50mm, in particular ranging from 30mm to 45mm, still in particular ranging from 35mm to 45mm, and/or a length ranging from 600mm to 1200 mm. The suction tube can be formed to be rigid, in particular so that it cannot be deformed by the user during the intended use. The suction tube can be partially or completely made of plastic material or metal.
The suction hose can have a diameter in the range from 25mm to 50mm, in particular in the range from 30mm to 45mm, still in particular in the range from 35mm to 45mm, and/or a length in the range from 1000mm to 2500 mm. The suction hose can be configured to be flexible, in particular such that it can be deformed by the user during the intended use. The suction hose can be partially or completely made of a plastic material. In particular, the suction hose can comprise a plastic wall made of metal and/or a reinforcement (for example a spiral).
The suction tube and/or the suction hose can have a constant or variable diameter over their respective length. In particular, the suction tube and/or the suction hose can have a conical shape with a diameter that preferably decreases towards the floor nozzle. In particular, the above-mentioned diameters refer to the smallest diameter of the suction tube or the smallest diameter of the suction hose, respectively.
The dust collector arrangement can be configured and/or the motor-actuated fan unit can be configured such that contact between the test probe according to IEC/EN60335 and the fan impeller of the motor-actuated fan unit cannot be made through the floor nozzle. Reference is made to DIN EN 60335-1:2012-10 version section 8. In particular, test probe B was used.
This reduces the risk of damage to the motor-actuated fan unit and the risk of injury when touching the floor nozzle while the motor is running.
The floor vacuum cleaner can be a bag vacuum cleaner, in particular having at least 800cm2The filtration area of (a). A bag type vacuum cleaner is a vacuum cleaner that causes sucked dust to be separated and collected in a vacuum cleaner filter bag. In particular, the floor vacuum cleaner can be a bag vacuum cleaner of a disposable bag.
The filter area of the vacuum cleaner filter bag refers to the entire area of the filter material located between or inside the edge seams (e.g. welded or glued seams). Any folds of the edges or surfaces that may be present need to be taken into account. The area of the bag fill opening or inlet opening (including the seam around the opening) is not part of the filter area.
The vacuum cleaner filter bag can be a flat bag or have a block bottom shape. The flat bag is formed by two side walls made of filter material, which are joined together along their outer edges (e.g. welded or glued). The bag filling opening or the inlet opening can be provided in one of the two side walls. The side faces or side walls can each have a rectangular basic shape. Each sidewall can include one or more layers of nonwoven fabric and/or nonwoven fabric.
A floor vacuum cleaner in the form of a bag vacuum cleaner can comprise a vacuum cleaner filter bag, wherein the vacuum cleaner filter bag is designed in the form of a flat bag and/or a disposable bag.
The bag wall of the vacuum cleaner filter bag can comprise one or more layers of nonwoven and/or one or more layers of nonwoven. In particular, the bag wall of the vacuum cleaner filter bag can comprise one or more layers of nonwoven and/or a laminate of one or more layers of nonwoven. Such a laminate is described, for example, in WO 2007/068444.
The term nonwoven is used within the meaning of the standard DIN EN ISO 9092: 2010. In particular, films and paper structures, in particular filter papers, are not considered to be nonwovens. "nonwoven fabric" is a structure made from fibers and/or continuous filament or staple yarn that has been formed into a surface structure by some method (other than interweaving yarns such as woven, knitted, openwork, or cut pile fabrics) but has not been bonded by some method. Through the bonding process, the nonwoven becomes a nonwoven. It is possible to dry-lay, wet-lay or extrude non-woven or non-woven fabrics.
The floor vacuum cleaner can comprise an exhaust filter, in particular having at least 800cm2The filtration area of (a). In particular, the exhaust gas filter can be configured to be pleated or pleated. This enables the exhaust gas filter to achieve a large surface area with a small base area. The exhaust gas filter can be provided in a holder, for example as described in european patent application No. 14179375.2. Such an exhaust filter allows the use of vacuum cleaner filter bags with low separation efficiency, such as single layer vacuum cleaner filter bags. For example, the following bag can be used as a vacuum cleaner filter bag with low separation efficiency: wherein the filter material of the bag wall has a surface weight of 15g/m2To 100g/m2Is spun-bonded. Thus, the vacuum cleaner filter bag can be formed, in particular, with a single layer. For example, alternatively, the following bags can be used: wherein the filter material of the bag wall consists of a laminate made of spunbond, meltblown and other spunbond (SMS).
Alternatively, the floor vacuum cleaner can be a bagless vacuum cleaner, in particular having a height of at least 800cm as described above2The filter area of (3). Bagless vacuum cleaners are vacuum cleaners that allow the sucked dust to be separated and collected without a vacuum cleaner filter bag. In this case, the dust collector device can comprise an impact separator or a centrifugal separator or a cyclone separator.
The above floor vacuum cleaner can comprise a second motor actuated fan unit. The second motor actuated fan unit can be a dirty air motor or a clean air motor (as described above).
In particular, in the case of a dirty-air motor, the second motor-actuated fan unit can be arranged, for example, between the suction duct and the first motor-actuated fan unit, so that the sucked-in air flow flows through the second motor-actuated fan unit into the first motor-actuated fan unit and then into the dust separator. In particular, the second motor-actuated fan unit can be fluidly arranged directly upstream of the first motor-actuated fan unit.
In particular, in the case of a clean air motor, the second motor-actuated fan unit can be arranged fluidly downstream of the dust collector unit.
The first motor-actuated fan unit and the second motor-actuated fan unit can have the same or different electrical input power. In particular, the electrical input power of each motor-actuated fan unit can be between 50W and 400W. In particular, the sum of the electrical input powers of the two motor-actuated fan units can be at most 700W.
It has been shown that the use of a second auxiliary motor-actuated fan unit positively influences the clogging behavior of the vacuum cleaner filter bag and enables a high volume flow to be obtained. This allows good collection of dust through the floor nozzle.
In principle, the ground nozzle can be an active or passive ground nozzle. The active floor nozzle has a brush roller (sometimes also referred to as a beating and/or rotating brush) in the suction opening. The brush roller can be electrically driven. The passive floor nozzle does not have a brushroll.
In the floor vacuum cleaner described, very good efficiency and suction performance can also be achieved by the floor nozzle being passive, i.e. without the brush roller, due to the overall design. When using a passive floor nozzle, the design and weight of the floor nozzle is simplified, which simplifies the operation.
Drawings
Further features are described with reference to the drawings, in which
FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of a floor vacuum cleaner;
fig. 2 shows a second embodiment of a floor vacuum cleaner.
Fig. 3 shows a third embodiment of a floor vacuum cleaner.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 schematically shows an example of a floor vacuum cleaner 1. The floor vacuum cleaner 1 shown comprises a dust collector means 2 mounted to a roller 3 and thus movable in a rolling manner. Connected to the dust collector device 2 is a suction hose 4, which suction hose 4 in turn is connected to a suction tube 5. The suction hose 4 comprises a flexible material which is deformable in particular during operation. The material used is for example a plastic material. The hose can be connected to a dust collector device 2 which can be detached in a non-destructive manner or which cannot be detached in a non-destructive manner.
The suction tube 5 is formed so as to be rigid so that it cannot be deformed by the user during the intended use. The material of the suction duct 5 can be a plastic material or a metal. The connection between the suction tube and the suction hose can be formed such that it can be detached in a non-destructive manner or cannot be detached in a non-destructive manner. A handle 6 is also mounted to the suction tube 5.
The floor vacuum cleaner 1 further comprises a floor nozzle 7 connected to the suction hose 5.
The dust collector device 2 comprises a housing 8, which is shown schematically in a sectional view at present, on which housing 8 a motor-actuated fan unit 9 is arranged. A duct member 10 is led from the motor-actuated fan unit 9 into the interior of the housing 8. Arranged inside the housing 8 is a vacuum cleaner filter bag 11 forming a dust separator. The vacuum cleaner filter bag can be removably mounted to the interior of the housing in a conventional manner, for example by means of a retaining plate.
Thus in the illustrated arrangement, a continuous fluid connection is established with the dust separator 11 through the floor nozzle 7, the suction duct 5, the suction hose 4, the motor-actuated fan unit 9 and the duct member 10. The motor-actuated fan unit 9 is arranged between the suction hose 4 and the dust separator 11, so that dirty air sucked through the floor nozzle flows through the motor-actuated fan unit 9 (in particular via the duct member 10) into the vacuum cleaner filter bag 11.
The motor-actuated fan unit 9 is thus a dirty air motor. In particular a motor-actuated fan unit comprising a radial fan. The motor-actuated fan unit has a fan wheel whose axis is inclined with respect to the surface to be sucked and with respect to the intended sliding direction of the floor nozzle during intended use, whereby the axis of the fan wheel is also arranged obliquely with respect to the vertical direction. The angle between the vertical direction and the fan wheel axis is less than 45 deg., so that the fan wheel axis is also arranged non-parallel to the surface to be sucked and the intended sliding direction.
The fan diameter may be 60mm to 160 mm. Motor actuated fan units such as AMETEK, inc, can be used, which are also used for ultrasonic cleaning of upright vacuum cleaners (e.g., sonclean VT PLUS).
The motor-actuated fan unit of SONICLEAN VT PLUS has features according to DIN EN 60312-1:2014-01 as described above. The motor actuated fan unit was measured without the vacuum cleaner housing. For adapters, which may be necessary, for connection to the measurement chamber, the description in section 7.3.7.1 applies. This shows that a high volume flow is achieved at low rotational speeds and low input power.
Figure GDA0001365318730000101
Air is drawn in by the motor-actuated fan unit 9 during operation. The air flow enters the vacuum cleaner 1 through the opening of the floor nozzle 7 and flows through the suction tube 5 and the suction hose 4 into the motor-actuated fan unit 9. Due to the arrangement of the motor-actuated fan unit 9 upstream of the dust separator 11 (in the form of a vacuum cleaner filter bag) in the air flow direction, an overpressure exists in the housing 8 and the dust separator 11.
In conventional floor vacuum cleaners, a motor-actuated fan unit is mounted in the dust collector arrangement downstream of a dust separator, such as a vacuum cleaner filter bag, in the direction of the air flow, in particular resulting in the housing of the dust collector arrangement being subjected to a negative pressure. In order to avoid deformations of the housing due to the underpressure, the housing must usually be reinforced, for example, with corresponding reinforcing ribs. In the configuration shown in fig. 1, reinforcement is not required or only to a small extent due to overpressure in the housing 8.
The example shown in fig. 1 is a bag vacuum cleaner. This means that arranged in the dust collector unit 2 is a vacuum cleaner filter bag, in which the sucked-up dirt and dust is separated. In particular, the vacuum cleaner filter bag may be a flat bag, the bag wall of which comprises one or more layers of non-woven and/or non-woven fabric. The vacuum cleaner filter bag is embodied as a disposable bag.
The use of an exhaust gas filter is advantageous when in particular a single-layer vacuum cleaner filter bag is used whose bag wall consists of exactly one layer of nonwoven, for example in the form of a spunbond. The dust filter can be used for filtering fine dust that is not separated in the vacuum cleaner filter bag. Such an exhaust gas filter can have at least 800cm2The area of (a). In particular, the exhaust gas filter can be formed pleated or folded in order to have a large surface area with a small base area (small specific surface area).
By arranging the motor-actuated fan unit 9 on the housing 8 and on top of the housing 8, a compact construction of the dust collector apparatus 2 can be obtained. In the example shown, a motor-actuated fan unit is arranged above the dust separator 11.
The suction hose 4 typically has a diameter in the range of 25mm to 50mm and a length in the range of 1000mm to 2500 mm. The suction duct 5 typically has a diameter in the range 25mm to 50mm and a length in the range 600mm to 1200 mm.
The suction tube 5 is formed rigid and the suction hose 4 is formed flexible.
Fig. 2 schematically shows an alternative embodiment of the floor vacuum cleaner 1, wherein like elements are provided with the same reference numerals as in fig. 1. In the example shown in fig. 2, the motor-actuated fan unit 9 is likewise arranged directly on the housing 8 and on top of the housing 8.
In this case, the axis of rotation of the fan wheel of the motor-actuated fan unit 9 is vertical, i.e. vertical (in particular perpendicular to the surface to be sucked) during the intended use. Thus, in this example the fan impeller rotates in a plane parallel to the surface to be pumped.
The sucked air enters the motor-actuated fan unit 9 from the suction hose 4, flows from the motor-actuated fan unit 9 into the tube member 10 and subsequently into the vacuum cleaner filter bag 11. Thus, an overpressure occurs in the tube member 10 and the housing 8.
Fig. 2 also shows an example of a bag vacuum cleaner. As an alternative embodiment, as schematically shown in fig. 3, the floor vacuum cleaner 1 can also be a vacuum cleaner as follows: wherein the dust collector device 2 comprises a centrifugal separator or a cyclone separator, respectively, in which the sucked up dirt and dust particles are separated by centrifugal forces. Alternatively, the bagless floor vacuum cleaner can also be designed as an impact separator (impact separator).
The centrifugal separator or cyclone separator shown comprises a housing 8, and a motor-actuated fan unit 9 is arranged on the housing 8 and on top of the housing 8.
In particular, in the case of a bagless vacuum cleaner, the dust collector device includes an exhaust filter by which fine dust that is not separated in the centrifugal separator is filtered. The exhaust gas filter can have at least 800cm2The area of (a). In particular, it can be pleated or folded in order to have a large surface area with a small base area. As described in european patent application No.14179375.2, an exhaust gas filter may be provided to the holder.
In addition to the one motor-actuated fan unit employed in the illustrated example, the floor vacuum cleaner can also include a second auxiliary motor-actuated fan unit. It has been found that the use of two motor-actuated fan units can result in lower suction power losses during operation of the floor vacuum cleaner than the use of a single motor-actuated fan unit, even if the sum of the electrical input powers of the two motor-actuated fan units is equal to the electrical input power of one motor-actuated fan unit.
The second motor-actuated fan unit can be designed as a dirty-air motor and can be arranged fluidly (directly) upstream of the first motor-actuated fan unit and thus upstream of the dust collector unit, such that dirty air flows through the second motor-actuated fan unit. The two motor-actuated fan units can have the same or different electrical input power.
Alternatively, the second motor-actuated fan unit can be designed as a clean air motor and can be arranged fluidly downstream of the dust collector unit. For example, model name 467.3.601-4 (to be called Domel, doo Otoki 21, 4228) of Domel corporation can be used
Figure GDA0001365318730000121
