Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an electronic device and a connection control method for the electronic device, and more particularly to connection control when connecting to a portable terminal having a digital media player function.
Background
By connecting to a portable terminal having a digital media player function, the electronic device can receive and play audio signals such as music played by the digital media player on the portable terminal side. For example, a smart phone with an iPod function is brought into a vehicle and connected with a vehicle-mounted device by using communication methods such as a USB cable, a wireless LAN, and bluetooth, and the iPod function of the smart phone can be played and utilized as a media source on the vehicle-mounted device side.
Specifically, when a smartphone with an iPod function is connected to an in-vehicle device, the smartphone can be connected to the in-vehicle device by two connection methods, namely a wired connection USB cable and a wireless connection bluetooth (hereinafter abbreviated as BT). When the smart phone is connected with the vehicle-mounted device through the two connection modes of the USB line and the BT, the audio of the iPod can be output to the vehicle-mounted device side no matter as the iPod source or the BT audio source, but the output can be carried out through only one communication channel.
In addition, as a countermeasure on the smart phone side, it is decided to output an audio signal from the communication channel connected last. For example, a smartphone is first connected to an in-vehicle device through a USB cable, and then connected to the in-vehicle device through BT. At this time, the audio signal of the iPod is output through the BT channel connected last.
However, according to the above-described measures, there are the following problems: the smart phone is connected through two connection modes of a USB line and a BT, and when the BT is connected at last, an audio signal is output through a BT communication channel. When a user switches from an iPod of a BT audio source to another media source such as a radio and wants to use the iPod function again, the user may switch to an iPod source via a USB cable to play, but since an audio signal of the iPod source can be output only by the BT audio source, sound is not output even if the iPod source via the USB cable is selected.
Patent document 1 discloses the following: the smart phone can be connected with the vehicle-mounted equipment through the BT and the USB line, and the BT connection is prior to the USB connection in the two connection modes. When the user selects a source of media other than the BT connection, the BT audio connection is released. When the BT audio source is selected again, the BT audio connection is connected again.
In patent document 1, when the smartphone is connected to the in-vehicle device by both BT and USB cable connections, the BT audio connection is released when a media source other than the BT connection is selected between the USB media source connected to the in-vehicle device and the BT media source connected to the BT device, regardless of whether the media sources are the same device. When the BT audio source is selected, the BT audio connection is connected again.
However, the above-described solution solves the problem of the non-sound, but the following new problems arise. First, when the user switches the BT audio source, the BT connection process takes about 1 to 2 seconds, and during this time, the user can wait only, which causes inconvenience to the user.
Further, when one key is repeatedly pressed to sequentially move icons of all media sources displayed in parallel in order to select an icon device style of a media source desired to be selected, media sources which cannot be used at this time are skipped and not displayed, and therefore, the BT audio source icons which are not connected cannot be used.
More specifically, BT audio sources are frequently connected and disconnected, and when a BT audio source is selected, there is a risk that the BT audio source may not be connected.

The iPod function 22 of the portable terminal 20 is one of the functions of a digital media player, and the portable terminal 20 and the in-vehicle device 10 are connected by a wired method and a wireless method, and an audio signal played by the function is transmitted and received, so that the audio signal can be played as an audio source by the playing unit 8 on the side of the in-vehicle device 10. The digital media function may be a music playing function other than the iPod function.
When the connection method setting unit 23 is connected to the same in-vehicle device 10 by two or more connection methods, and the plurality of connection methods can simultaneously realize the same function, it determines which connection method to communicate with the in-vehicle device 10. For example, when both BT and USB lines can communicate the media audio signal, it is set to output the media audio signal to the in-vehicle apparatus 10 via the connection method of the last connection. In addition, when the connection is made by both wired and wireless methods, it is also possible to set priority to communication by wireless connection.
Next, a procedure of connection control when the portable terminal smartphone 20 according to the embodiment of the present invention is connected to the in-vehicle device 10 will be described with reference to a flowchart of fig. 2.
The user connects the smartphone 20 to the in-vehicle apparatus 10 via the connection unit 1 and the connection unit 21 via a USB cable of a wired connection method (step 101).
Then, when the user selects the source of the media source iPod on the smartphone 20 side through the operation unit 3, the user performs communication through the USB cable of the wired connection system, receives an audio signal played from the iPod function on the smartphone 20 side, and then starts playing through the playing unit 8 (step 102)
When the iPod source is selected, the connection detection unit 4 detects whether or not the connection unit 1 has an external device connected thereto as a BT audio source by the wireless connection method BT (step 103).
When detecting that an external device as a BT audio source is connected (yes in step 103), the terminal confirmation section 9 confirms whether or not the external device connected by BT and the smartphone 20 connected by USB cable are the same device (step 104).
When it is confirmed that the BT Audio source and the iPod source are connected to the same device, that is, the same smartphone 20 (yes in step 104), the control unit 6 controls the connection unit 1 to disconnect the BT-Audio as the BT Audio source from the smartphone 20 (step 105). After the connection is cut, it is checked whether or not a different media source is selected by the selection unit 4 from the iPod source and whether or not the source is changed (step 106).
When it is confirmed that the user has changed another different media source from the iPod source (yes in step 106), the control unit 6 controls the connection unit 1 to reconnect the BT-Audio connection as the BT Audio source to the smartphone 20 (step 107). For example, when the source of the iPod is changed to the radio source, the smartphone 20 connected to the BT audio source is connected again. If the user continues to use the iPod source and does not change to another media source, the confirmation step 106 is repeated (step 106: no).
When the connection detecting unit 5 does not detect an external device connected as a BT audio source by BT when the iPod source is selected (no in step 104), the process flow ends.
When the connection between the BT audio source and the external device is detected and the terminal checking unit 9 checks that the external device connected as the BT audio source and the smartphone 20 connected as the iPod source are different devices (no in step 104), the process flow ends.
In step 106, the control unit 6 controls the smart phone 20 connected to the BT audio source to be connected again when switching from the iPod source to another media source, but the BT connection process takes time, and when another media source is the BT audio source, the control unit 6 controls the selection process speed to be slow until the connection is completed, thereby enabling the selection process to be efficiently performed.
Also, at step 106, as shown in fig. 3(a), if the media source icon next selectable by the iPod source icon is the BT audio source by the operation of the selection key, the control section 6 controls to automatically add another media source icon between the icon of the iPod source and the icon of the BT audio source. As shown in fig. 3(B), a radio media source icon is automatically appended between the iPod source and the BT audio source icon.
That is, the icon of the media source that can be selected next to the icon of the iPod source may be any media source icon other than the BT audio source. This is to give a necessary connection time from a state where the BT audio source is not usable to a state where it is usable.
In the above embodiments, the electronic device is described as an in-vehicle device, and is not limited to an in-vehicle device, but is also applicable to the present invention as long as it can be connected to an external portable terminal by two connection methods, i.e., a wired connection method and a wireless connection method, and can play and use an audio signal of the digital media player function on the external portable terminal side after being received by the wired connection method and the wireless connection method.
In the above embodiments, the description is made of a smart phone with an iPod function, and a portable terminal such as a mobile phone, a tablet computer, and a notebook computer is also applicable to the present invention.
As described above, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments, and various modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
