Abstract
The invention discloses a method and system for indicating statuses of different types of hard disks. The method comprises the following steps: monitoring the status signal of each hard disk; judging the type of the hard disk according to the monitored status signal of the hard disk; reading and displaying the status information of the hard disk according to the judged type of the hard disk. Through the adoption of the technical scheme of the invention, the statuses of different types of hard disks can be indicated, so that the status indication for the hard disks is achieved while the interfaces of the hard disks are upgraded.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to computer technology, and more particularly, to a method and system for indicating the status of different types of hard disks.
Background
With the development of big data and cloud computing, the speed and reliability of storage of a system are more and more required, especially for high performance computing, and the speed of storage is very high, and currently, a hard disk form adopting a Serial Advanced Technology Attachment interface (SATA) or a Serial attached small computer system interface (SAS) has become a bottleneck. The hard disk state indication supported by the existing hard disk backboard is limited to the traditional SATA and SAS hard disks, and the state information of the SATA and/or SAS hard disks connected with the hard disk is acquired by the SATA and SAS hard disk controller, wherein the hard disk state indication indicates the state of the hard disk, and the hard disk state comprises: the microprocessor reads the state information of the hard disk from the hard disk controller, processes the obtained state information of the hard disk, sends the processed state information to the state indicating device and indicates the state of the hard disk. With the development of storage technology, a serial bus interface (PCIE) Solid State Disk (SSD) gradually climbs a server stage. The hard disk state indication supported by the existing hard disk backboard is limited to the traditional SATA and SAS hard disks, and the compatibility of the hard disk state indication while the hard disk interface is upgraded cannot be met.

Further, the judging the type of the hard disk according to the monitored state signal of the hard disk comprises the following steps:
when the monitored state signal of the hard disk is a Present signal and the Present is 0, monitoring an Ifdef signal;
when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 0, judging that the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk; and when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 1, judging that the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk.
Further, reading and displaying the state information of the hard disk according to the judged type of the hard disk, and the method comprises the following steps:
when the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from a PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk;
and when the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from the non-PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk.
Further, the state of the hard disk is displayed by controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk.
The invention also provides a system for indicating the states of different types of hard disks, which comprises: the LED lamp comprises a monitoring module, a judging module, a control module and more than one LED lamp; wherein,
the monitoring module is used for monitoring the state signals of the hard disks;
the judging module is used for judging the type of the hard disk according to the monitored state signal of the hard disk;
the control module is used for reading the state information of the hard disk and controlling the LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the judged type of the hard disk;
and the LED lamp is used for displaying the state of the corresponding hard disk.
Further, the system further comprises: more than one small storage interface SFF-8639, which is used to connect with each hard disk and monitor module;
the monitoring module is specifically configured to: the system is connected with each hard disk through a small storage interface SFF-8639, and status signals of each hard disk are monitored;
wherein the status signal comprises: a Present at bit signal and an Ifdef signal.
Further, the determining module is specifically configured to:
when the monitored state signal of the hard disk is a Present signal and the Present is 0, monitoring an Ifdef signal;
when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 0, judging that the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk; and when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 1, judging that the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk.
Further, the system further comprises: a PCIE controller and a non-PCIE controller;
the PCIE controller is used for performing information interaction with the PCIE hard disk to acquire state information of the PCIE hard disk; the non-PCIE controller is used for performing information interaction with the non-PCIE hard disk to acquire the state information of the non-PCIE hard disk;
the control module is specifically configured to:
when the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from a PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk;
and when the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from the non-PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk.
The technical scheme of the invention comprises the following steps: monitoring state signals of each hard disk; judging the type of the hard disk according to the monitored state signal of the hard disk; and reading and displaying the state information of the hard disk according to the judged type of the hard disk. The technical scheme of the invention can indicate the states of different types of hard disks, and realizes the compatibility of hard disk state indication while upgrading the hard disk interface. The product competitiveness is improved, and the cost is saved.

Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention more apparent, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be noted that the embodiments and features of the embodiments in the present application may be arbitrarily combined with each other without conflict.
Fig. 1 is a flowchart of a method for indicating statuses of different types of hard disks according to the present invention, as shown in fig. 1, including:

when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 0, judging that the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk; and when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 1, judging that the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk.
Wherein, non-PCIE hard disk includes at least: SAS hard disks and/or SATA hard disks.
Step 103: and reading and displaying the state information of the hard disk according to the judged type of the hard disk.
The method specifically comprises the following steps: when the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from a PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk;
and when the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from the non-PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk.
It should be noted that how to control the LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk belongs to the conventional technical means known by those skilled in the art, and is not intended to limit the present invention, and will not be described herein again.
Wherein the state information includes: active status, locate status, and error status of the hard disk, etc. And the non-PCIE controller is a disk array (Raid) card, and the PCIE controller is a Central Processing Unit (CPU).
Wherein, every LED lamp includes three hard disk status indicator lamps, is respectively: a Locate indicator light, an Error indicator light, and an Active indicator light. According to the state information of the hard disk obtained from a hard disk controller (a PCIE controller or a non-PCIE controller), controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk (namely, lighting an indicator lamp corresponding to the state information).
In the above method, the implementation may be performed by a Programmable System On Chip (PSOC) chip, and the PSOC chip is connected to the PCIE controller through an I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit) bus; the PSOC chip is connected with the non-PCIE controller through a serial general purpose input/output (SGPIO) bus. How to implement the method of the present invention by using a PSOC chip belongs to the conventional technical means of those skilled in the art, and is not used to limit the protection scope of the present invention, which is not described herein again.
The method of the invention judges the state of the hard disk through the state signal of the hard disk, and further can indicate the state of the hard disks of different types, thereby realizing the compatibility of the state indication of the hard disk while upgrading the interface of the hard disk.
Fig. 2 is a schematic structural diagram of a system for indicating statuses of different types of hard disks according to the present invention, as shown in fig. 2, including: the LED lamp comprises a monitoring module, a judging module, a control module and more than one LED lamp. Wherein,
and the monitoring module is used for monitoring the state signals of the hard disks.
And the judging module is used for judging the type of the hard disk according to the monitored state signal of the hard disk.
And the control module is used for reading the state information of the hard disk and controlling the LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the judged type of the hard disk.
And the LED lamp is used for displaying the state of the corresponding hard disk.
Wherein, the LED lamp includes three hard disk status indicator lamps, is respectively: a Locate indicator light, an Error indicator light, and an Active indicator light. The control module controls the LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk (i.e. to light the indicator lamp corresponding to the state information) according to the state information of the hard disk obtained from the hard disk controller (PCIE controller or SAS controller).
Furthermore, the system also comprises more than one small storage interface SFF-8639 which is used for being connected with each hard disk and is connected with the monitoring module through PCB wiring.
Wherein, the monitoring module is specifically used for: and the small storage interface SFF-8639 is connected with each hard disk to monitor the state signal of each hard disk. Wherein the status signal at least comprises: a Present signal and an indication (Ifdef) signal.
The judgment module is specifically used for:
when the monitored state signal of the hard disk is a Present signal and the Present is 0, monitoring an Ifdef signal;
when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 0, judging that the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk; and when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 1, judging that the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk. Wherein, non-PCIE hard disk includes: SAS hard disks and/or SATA hard disks.
The control module is specifically configured to:
when the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from a PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk;
and when the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from a non-PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk.
Wherein the state information includes: active status, locate status, and error status of the hard disk, etc. And the non-PCIE controller is a disk array (Raid) card, and the PCIE controller is a Central Processing Unit (CPU).
Further, the system also comprises a PCIE controller connected with the control module through an I2C bus and a non-PCIE controller connected with the control module through a serial general purpose input/output (SGPIO) bus.
The PCIE controller is used for performing information interaction with the PCIE hard disk to acquire state information of the PCIE hard disk, so that the control module can read the state information of the PCIE hard disk; the non-PCIE controller is used for performing information interaction with the non-PCIE hard disk to acquire the state information of the non-PCIE hard disk, so that the control module can read the state information of the non-PCIE hard disk.
Wherein the state information includes: active status, locate status, and error status of the hard disk, etc. And the SAS controller is a disk array (Raid) card, and the PCIE controller is a Central Processing Unit (CPU).
It should be noted that how the PCIE controller and the non-PCIE controller perform information interaction with the hard disk to obtain the state information of the hard disk belongs to a conventional technical means well known to those skilled in the art, and details are not described herein again.
The monitoring module, the judging module and the control module can be integrated in the PSOC chip.
It should be noted that the LED or the like may be replaced with another indication device, such as a light emitting diode or the like.
It will be understood by those skilled in the art that all or part of the steps of the above methods may be implemented by instructing the relevant hardware through a program, and the program may be stored in a computer readable storage medium, such as a read-only memory, a magnetic or optical disk, and the like. Alternatively, all or part of the steps of the above embodiments may be implemented using one or more integrated circuits. Accordingly, each module/unit in the above embodiments may be implemented in the form of hardware, and may also be implemented in the form of a software functional module. The present application is not limited to any specific form of hardware or software combination.

Claims (9)
1. A method for indicating the status of different types of hard disks, comprising:
monitoring state signals of each hard disk;
judging the type of the hard disk according to the monitored state signal of the hard disk;
and reading and displaying the state information of the hard disk according to the judged type of the hard disk.
2. The method of claim 1, wherein monitoring the status signal of each hard disk comprises: the system is connected with each hard disk through a small storage interface SFF-8639, and status signals of each hard disk are monitored;
wherein the status signal comprises: a Present at bit signal and an Ifdef signal.
3. The method of claim 2, wherein determining the type of the hard disk according to the monitored status signal of the hard disk comprises:
when the monitored state signal of the hard disk is a Present signal and the Present is 0, monitoring an Ifdef signal;
when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 0, judging that the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk; and when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 1, judging that the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk.
4. The method of claim 3, wherein reading and displaying the status information of the hard disk according to the determined type of the hard disk comprises:
when the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from a PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk;
when the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from a non-PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk.
5. The method of claim 4, wherein the status of the hard disk is displayed by controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk.
6. A system for indicating the status of different types of hard disks, comprising: the LED lamp comprises a monitoring module, a judging module, a control module and more than one LED lamp; wherein,
the monitoring module is used for monitoring the state signals of the hard disks;
the judging module is used for judging the type of the hard disk according to the monitored state signal of the hard disk;
the control module is used for reading the state information of the hard disk and controlling the LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the judged type of the hard disk;
and the LED lamp is used for displaying the state of the corresponding hard disk.
7. The system of claim 6, further comprising: more than one small storage interface SFF-8639, which is used to connect with each hard disk and monitor module;
the monitoring module is specifically configured to: the system is connected with each hard disk through a small storage interface SFF-8639, and status signals of each hard disk are monitored;
wherein the status signal comprises: a Present at bit signal and an Ifdef signal.
8. The system of claim 7, wherein the determining module is specifically configured to:
when the monitored state signal of the hard disk is a Present signal and the Present is 0, monitoring an Ifdef signal;
when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 0, judging that the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk; and when the monitored Ifdef is equal to 1, judging that the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk.
9. The system of claim 8, further comprising: a PCIE controller and a non-PCIE controller;
the PCIE controller is used for performing information interaction with the PCIE hard disk to acquire state information of the PCIE hard disk; the non-PCIE controller is used for performing information interaction with the non-PCIE hard disk to acquire the state information of the non-PCIE hard disk;
the control module is specifically configured to:
when the hard disk is a PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from a PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk;
and when the hard disk is a non-PCIE hard disk, reading the state information of the hard disk from a non-PCIE controller, and controlling an LED lamp corresponding to the hard disk to display the state of the hard disk according to the obtained state information of the hard disk.
