Description

Method of firmly joining iron pipes and walls. The invention relates to a method of connecting pipes and walls made of iron to one another in such a way -that perfect heat transfer between pipe and wall is possible. For this it is necessary that the pipes are connected to the wall along their entire length if possible.

This can be achieved by welding, but it is not only expensive but also leads to excessive warping of the walls. According to the invention, the pipes are fixed on the iron walls at a sufficient number of places by means of holders, such as half-pipe clamps, brackets or the like,

whereupon the whole thing is galvanized and taken care of in the full bath; @that sufficient quantities of zinc remain between the pipe and the wall that metallic contact is practically the entire length of the pipe.

In Fig. 1 and 2, the process is explained using an iron sheet metal container, for example. F'xg. 1 shows a vertical section, FIG. 2 shows a view of the container with the tubes fixed on it.

1 is the sheet metal container, 3 are iron pipes that contain a refrigerant or heating medium; these pipes are distributed on the outside of the sheet metal container and fixed at intervals by half pipe clamps 4. The whole thing is galvanized in the full bath so:

that enough zinc remains between the pipe and sheet metal to make practical, complete metallic contact for heat transfer.

The Ruhr clamps 4 can be spotted: stapled, riveted or screwed on by light welding. 5 is the at. Assembling the applied thermal insulation, 2 the lid of the container.
