Description

  

  Verfahren zum Gerben von Häuten, Fellen, Bälgen     ete.       Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung ist  ein Verfahren zum Gerben von Häuten, Fel  len, Bälgen     ete.,    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass  zum     Gerbeprozess    Rhabarber verwendet wird.  



  Zur Ausführung des Verfahrens gemäss       df@r    Erfindung wird zum Beispiel zum Ger  ben von kleineren Häuten ein Gefäss' mit       Nasser-gefüllt    und. diesem auf ca. 50 Liter  Wasser ein Quantum von     ea.        1;s    kg zweck  rnässig gedörrter Rhabarber zugegeben und  die v     orgängig    zum Gerben vorbereitete Haut  in die Lösung verbracht. Je nach der Quali  tät und der Dicke der Haut kann dieselbe der       Lösung    in einigen oder mehreren     Stunden     gegerbt entnommen     werden.     



  Die     G.erbdösung    kann je nach Beanspru  chung in Zeiträumen von 5 bis 10 Tagen     er-          neuert.    werden.         Im    .allgemeinen empfiehlt es sich zur  Herstellung der Lösung heisses Wasser zu  verwenden, die     Gerbwirkung    erfolgt aber  auch, wenn warmes oder auch kaltes Was  ser benützt wird.  



  Zur     Gerbung    eignen sich hauptsächlich  die Blätter der Rhabarberpflanze;; dieselben  werden vorteilhaft, ähnlich wie Tabakblätter,  getrocknet und:     dann    gemahlen.  



  Das beschriebene Verfahren gestattet,  rasch und gut gegerbte Ware zu liefern und  ist     deshalb    billig, weil es mit. Abfallproduk  ten zu arbeiten gestattet.
