Abstract
Un moteur de fond de trou pour le forage et l'entretien de puits comporte un boîtier externe allongé et un mandrin allongé disposé de manière rotative à l'intérieur du boîtier. Un palier de butée principal est disposé entre l'extrémité inférieure du boîtier et le mandrin et transfère les charges axiales vers le bas du boîtier au mandrin, puis au trépan ou à un autre outil fixé à l'extrémité la plus basse du mandrin. Le placement du palier de butée principal lui permet de s'étendre radialement vers le diamètre externe du boîtier. Un mode de réalisation préféré du palier de butée principal comprend des surfaces d'appui d'un matériau à compact de diamant polycristallin (PDC).
