Intybus (Chicory), the object was to conlpletely replace tobacco with Chicory. In the present invention the tobacco is partially replaced with Chicory to distract habitual snlokel- fi-om snloking and also reduce the harmful effect of nicotine contained in the tobacco.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
This invention 1-elates to an herbal and tobacco fillei- composition forbit-i, cigarette or cllel-oot or pipe herbal fillel- composition, whicll contains 10-90% of tobacco to distl-act smoker from snloking and reduce harmful effects of the nicotine content of the tobacco, and a process fol-preparing the sanle. The fillel- composition is made of chicol-y leaves and n0 10-90% tobacco. Biri, cigarette or chel-oot made in accordance witll this invention are likek- to be less hai-nlful and non-addictive to llabitual smokers, also as enjoyable as tobacco products and provide a similar feeling as biri or ciRarette or cheroot with tobacco.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Biri, cigarette or cllel-oot made fi-om tobacco contains nicotine and nitrosanlines and such bi.ri, cigarette or cheroot when lighted and smokzd are deleterious to the llealth of snlokers. The addictive natul-e of nicotine is universally known and the cancel' caLlSlllg properties of illtl"oSall11ne5 1-~
equally well docunlented. Nicotine exists in tobacco only in fol-mation _~0 witll nlaleic acici ol- citl-ic acid. It is a colorless oily liquid, which contains low oxide. It is volatile and water- soluble. Excessive long terni smokinLT
5' causes clumsiness and stomach and eye disorders. Nitrosaniines which are tobacco specific are potent llunian cai-cinogens and comes with the burning of cured tobacco wliich is used in nlaking biri and cigarette Prolonged use of tobacco through smoking has sevei-al deleterious side-effects. The luna primai-ily takes the brunt of the abuse in the body followed by the receptors which take the nicotine. The blood pressure, pulse-rate, carbon, ulonoxide levels in the blood all increase causing a chronic condition called as Chronic Obsti-uctive Pulmonary disease which is the 6t" largest killet- in the world now.
It has been i-epoi-ted that it is 6-10 times more likely for smokers to die of lung cancei- tllatl non-smokers. Smoking prohibition has been initiated ever}-where and tliei-e is a widespread anti-smoking campaign.
Although such prohibitions and campaigns may have some degree of effectiveness, it is not the best way to solve the problem on account of people still wanting to indulge. The population of sinokei-s is inci-easing.
Children start smoking as early as 1 1 or 12 years old. Clearly, the initiation of smoking at sucll a young age will have deleterious effect on their healtll. It is therefore highly desirable to remove nicotine from biri, cigarettes and the like to prevent addiction and thereby the problems associated with tobacco smoking.
