Abstract
DE DIVULGATION : La présente invention est relative à un dispositif et à un procédé de fabrication d'objets à parois minces en matière plastique expansée. Ce dispositif est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend en association avec un moule à empreinte en métal présentant des pertes par courants de Foucault, au moins un circuit inducteur noyé dans la masse de la matière plastique à ramollir et relié un ou plusieurs générateurs du courant haute-fréquence (HF), ledit circuit se trouvant à une distance de 0,05 à 2 mm de l'empreinte du moule. Application à la fabrication d'objets à parois minces(tels que gobelets, barquettes, etc...) en matière plastique expansée.DISCLOSURE: The present invention relates to a device and a method for manufacturing objects with thin walls in expanded plastic. DISPOSITIF ET PROCEDE DE FABRICATION D 'OBJETS
A PAROIS MINCES EN MATIERE PLASTIQUE EXPANSEE
_____________ ______ La présente invention est relative à des perfec-tionnements apportés aux dispositifs et aux procédés de fabrication d'objets à parois minces en mati~re plastique expansée.
La présente invention est plus particulièrement re-lative à un procédé de fabrication d'objets tels que gobele-ts, 10 récipients à fromage, barquettes, etc, à parois minces, c'est-à-dire n'excedant pas 5 mm d'epaisseur.
Les gobelets, barquettes et analogues en matière plastique et en particulier en matière plastique expansée, consti- r tuent de nos jours des récipients très largement diffusés et utili-sés. Il sont, en effet, robustes, d'un poids très faible et peuvent etre très facilement réutilisés.
La Demanderesse s'est en conséquence donné pour but d'étudier et de mettre au point un dispositif très simple, très économique et convenant parfaitement aux fabrications en série.
La présente invention a pour objet un dispositif de moulage d'objets à parois minces, en matière plastique expansée, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend, en combinaison :- un moule en deux parties dont chacune présente un corps en matière plas-tique et une empreinte en métal d'une épaisseur comprise entre ; 0,3 et 1,5 mm présentant des pertes par courants de Foucault ;
- des circuits inducteurs disposés aussi bien sur la partie mâle que sur la partie femelle du moule et à proximité immédiate de l'empreinte susdite, de préference à une distance de 0,05 a 2 mm de cette dernière ; - au moins un générateur de courant haute-fréquence auquel sont reliés les circuits inducteurs susdits~
Suivant un autre mode de réalisation avantageux de l'objet de l'invention, le métal de l'empreinte est en acier inoxydable.
Suivant encore un autre mode de réalisation avan-tageux de l'objet de l'invention, le métal de l'empreinte est en nickel.
Suivant un mode de réalisation préféré du dispositif objet de la présente invention, le circuit inducteur est un circuit tubulaire.
Suivant une disposition avantageuse de ce mode de réalisation, l'on fait circuler un fluide réfrigérant à l'inté- -rieur des tubes du clrcuit inducteur.
Suivant un autre mode de réalisation de l'objet de l'invention, le circuit inducteur tubulaire est recouvert d'un isolant.
La présente invention a également pour objet un ;~ procédé de moulage d'objets en matière plastique à parois minces dans des moules conformes à l'invention, lequel procédé est caractérisé en ce que les perles en matière plastique contenant éventuellement un agent de gonflement et éventuellement préala-blement préexpansées sont introduites dans un moule conforme à
l'invention, constitué en deux parties - mâle et femelle - placé
dans une presse approprié~, en ce que l'on chauffe rapidement l'empreinte en y produisant des courants induits pendant une duree de lJ~ 20 secondes, et en ce que l'on refroidit la matière plastique fondue par circulation d'un liquide refrigérant à
l'intérieur du circuit inducteur.
Suivant un autre mode de réalisation avantageux du procédé objet de la présente invention, le fluide réfrigérant circule dans les tubulures du circuit inducteur de man:ière ininterrompue.
Il est en effet possible de simplifier encore la fabrication de ces gobelets, barquettes et analogues en laissant circuler le liquide réfrigerant sans interxuption pendant toute la durée de la fabrication.
Outre les dispositions qui prëcèdent, l'invention comprend encore d'autres dispositions , caractéristiques et avantages,qui ressortiront de la description qui va suivre.
La présente invention vise plus particulièrement les moules pour ~a fabrication de matières plastiques expansées, i 10 conformes aux dispositions qui précèdent, ainsi que tous instal-i lations, dispositifs, procédés d'ensemble et chaînes de fabrica-tion de corps moulés en matière plastique expansible, dans lesquels sont inclus les dispositifs conformes à la présente in-vention, et les objets moulés ~ parois minces (gobelets, réci- , pients à fromage, barquettes et analogues),obtenus a l'aide des moules et dispositifs conformes à la présente invention.

L'invention pourra ~tre mieux comprise ~ l'aide du complément de description qui va suivre, qui se réfere au dessin annexé dont la Figure unique représente une vue de détail en coupe d'un moule et de son circuit inducteur, conformes ~ la présente invention.
La Figure unique représentée au dessin annexé est une vue partielle, en coupe d'un moule 6 en résine polyester dont i l'empreinte 8 est réalisée en acier inoxydable de 0,6 mm d'épais-~ seur. A 1 mm de l'empreinte, et noyés dans la resine 9, sont - disposés (aussi bien sur la partie mâle que sur la partie femelle du moule), les circuits inducteurs tubulaires 7 reliés aux géné-rateurs HF1 et HF2. Le refroidissement du moule est assuré par la circulation du fluide réfrigérant entre l'entrée 3 et la sortie 4.

un exemple non limitatlf d'application du dispositif conforme a l'invention a la fabrication d'objets a parois minces, tels que des gobelets. Les perles en matière plastique (par exemple polystyrène) préexpansee prealablement sont introduites par l'injecteur de matiere 10 (les évents sont représentés sur cette Figure en 5), le moule étant fermé. Le circuit inducteur 7 recouvert d'une eouche de TERPHAN (Marque de co~erce de.DU PONT DE NEMOU~S, téréphtalate de polyethylène) de 0,08 mm d'epaisseur touche pr~tique-ment l'empreinte. De l'eau glacée circule a l'intérieur du circuit. On fait passer le courant par l'intermédiaire des géné-rateurs 1 et 2 (de 400 kilohertz) pendant 2 secondes. L'empreinte s'échauffe rapidement, la résine fond et le gobelet prend forme.
Le courant coupé, la circulation ae l'eau glacée refroidit imme-diatement le moule, le gobelet peut être éjecté.
A titre d'exemple non limitatif, une installation com-prenant huit moules montés en carrousel travaillant en continu, permet de fournir plus de 92 000 gobelets par 24 heures. D'autres avantages et non des moindres, résident dans la simplicité du dispositif conforme a l'invention et, partant, dans la modicite des frais d'entretien et de remplacement. Le dispositif conforme a la présente invention permet donc la production en masse et d'une maniere tres économique d'objets a parois minces en matiere plastique expansée.
Ai~si que cela ressort de ce qui precède, l'invention ne se limite nullement a ceux de ses modes de mise en oeuvre, de réalisation et d'application qui viennent d'être décrits de fa~on plus explicite dans ce qui précede ; elle en embrasse, au contraire, toutes les variantes qui peuvent venir a l'esprit du technicien en la matiere, sans s'écarter du cadre, ni de la portée, de la présente invention.

The present invention is more particularly re-lative to a process for manufacturing objects such as gobele-ts, 10 thin-walled cheese containers, tubs, etc.

According to another advantageous embodiment of object of the invention, the metal of the imprint is steel stainless.
According to yet another embodiment before the object of the invention, the metal of the imprint is nickel.
According to a preferred embodiment of the device object of the present invention, the inductor circuit is a tubular circuit.
According to an advantageous arrangement of this mode of realization, a refrigerant is circulated inside -the tubes of the inductor circuit.
According to another embodiment of the object of the invention, the tubular inductor circuit is covered with a insulating.
The present invention also relates to a ; ~ process for molding thin-walled plastic objects in molds according to the invention, which process is characterized in that the plastic beads containing possibly a blowing agent and possibly prior-clearly pre-expanded are introduced into a mold conforming to the invention, consisting of two parts - male and female - placed in a suitable press ~, in that it heats quickly the imprint by producing induced currents therein during a lJ ~ 20 seconds, and in that the material is cooled plastic melted by circulation of a liquid refrigerant inside the inductor circuit.
According to another advantageous embodiment of the process object of the present invention, the refrigerant circulates in the pipes of the inductor circuit in a manner:
uninterrupted.
It is indeed possible to further simplify the manufacture of these cups, trays and the like leaving circulate the refrigerant without interuption during any the duration of the manufacturing.
In addition to the foregoing provisions, the invention includes other provisions, features and advantages, which will emerge from the description which follows.

a nonlimiting example of application of the device in accordance with the invention has the manufacture of thin-walled objects, such as goblets. Plastic beads (for example polystyrene) pre-expanded beforehand are introduced by the material injector 10 (the vents are represented on this Figure 5), the mold being closed. The inductor circuit 7 covered with a layer of TERPHAN (Co ~ erce mark of. DU PONT DE NEMOU ~ S, polyethylene terephthalate) 0.08 mm thick lie the imprint. Icy water circulates inside the circuit.
