Abstract

"ESPUMAS DE POLIURETANO FEITAS COM HIDROXILATO DE óLEO VEGETAL ALCOXILADO". A presente invenção refere-se espumas e elastómeros de poliuretano feitos com um hidroxilato de óleo vegetal alcoxilado substituindo pelo menos uma porção do(s) poliol(óis) baseado(s) em petróleo tipicamente usados. São também fornecidos processos para fazer as espumas e elastómeros inventivos e para fazer hidroxilatos de óleos vegetais alcoxilados. Os hidroxilatos de óleos vegetais alcoxilados são ambientalmente amigáveis, polióis bio-baseados os quais oferecem de forma vantajosa o potencial da hidrofobicidade melhorada em espumas e elastómeros de poliuretano. As espumas e elastómeros de poliuretano podem ser usados em uma ampla variedade de produtos tais como partes do interior de automóveis, espumas estruturais de poliuretano, coberturas de chão e pistas de corrida de atletismo."POLYURETHANE FOAMS MADE WITH ALCOHOLATED VEGETABLE OIL HYDROXYLATE". The present invention relates to polyurethane foams and elastomers made with an alkoxylated vegetable oil hydroxylate replacing at least a portion of the typically used petroleum-based polyol (s). Processes for making inventive foams and elastomers and for making hydroxylates of alkoxylated vegetable oils are also provided. Alkoxylated vegetable oil hydroxylates are environmentally friendly, bio-based polyols which advantageously offer the potential for improved hydrophobicity in polyurethane foams and elastomers. Polyurethane foams and elastomers can be used in a wide variety of products such as car interior parts, polyurethane structural foams, floor coverings and running tracks.
