Abstract
"CODIFICADOR DE DADOS COM BAIXA LATêNCIA". A latência do codificador causada pela posição da palavra código é reduzida por se evitar a exigência de conhecimento da mensagem antes de gerar uma palavra código de detecção ou de ocultação de erro com a mensagem. Uma pseudopalavra código de detecção ou de ocultação de erro é inserida em vez da palavra código de detecção ou de ocultação de erro normal apropriada para o segmento de informação com o qual a palavra código de detecção ou de ocultação de erro relaciona-se. De modo a satisfazer o requerimento de decodificadores convencionais, a pseudoinformação de detecção ou de ocultação de erro deve combinar ou ser apropriada para o segmento de modo que o decodificador veja a palavra código e o segmento como válido ou livre de erros. Isto é realizado por se modificar pelo menos uma parte do segmento com o qual a palavra código relaciona-se. A invenção é particularmente útil para manter a compatibilidade anterior de formatos de codificação de dados de áudio nos quais a latência mínima é muito longa (por exemplo, jogos de computador, onde o jogador executa alguma operação levando a um som e este som não deve ser perceptivelmente retardado com respeito à operação).
