Description
"COMPOSITION DE COMPLEMENT ALIMENTAIRE POUR FEMMES
ENCEINTES"

"FOOD SUPPLEMENT COMPOSITION FOR WOMEN
PREGNANT "
The present invention relates to a dietary supplement composition for pregnant women, breastfeeding or in desire of children including vitamins and trace elements. Such compositions are well known to those skilled in the art and generally prescribed as a dietary supplement in the context of pregnancy or breastfeeding or in the pre-conception period. In fact, generally during this period, the body is particularly solicited and it has been shown that the woman generally suffers many deficiencies in this period of her life.
In addition, the environment is changing unfavorably and a considerable increase in the number of allergies of all types, eczema, allergic rhinitis, asthma and others has been observed in recent years. Allergic pathologies are strongly increasing in adults, but also in children. WHO (World Health Organization) stresses that the number of allergic children doubles every ten years.
Unfortunately, existing compositions currently, although generally remedying deficiencies in women, do not make it possible to combat the problems of allergies more and more frequent.
As is well known to those skilled in the art, allergy is a dysfunction of the immune system that functions exacerbated with one or more allergens to which it has developed hypersensitivity. Indeed, a substance considered completely harmless for some may cause an allergic reaction in a sensitized person.
One of the factors aggravating the risks of allergy is the family predisposition, also called atopic ground by specialists in the field.
Allergic reactions are classified into four groups: the immediate allergic reaction involving immunoglobulin E (IgE), the so-called cytotoxic allergic reaction involving immunoglobulin G (IgG), the allergic reaction to immune complexes, or involved molecules bind to IgG to form immune complexes and the delayed allergic reaction that is related to the phenomenon of cellular inflammation.
The object of the invention is to overcome at least in part the disadvantages of the existing compositions, by providing a dietary supplement composition which makes it possible to improve the immune response of the body of the pregnant woman and to reduce the risks of allergy in the newborn by reducing the atopic terrain.
To solve this problem, there is provided according to the invention, a composition as indicated at the beginning, which further comprises a probiotic, characterized in that the probiotic is Lactobacillus rhamnosus.
Probiotics are dietary supplements, usually consisting of live microorganisms that help to beneficially modify the functioning of the human body, improving the balance of the intestinal flora. Probiotics have a beneficial effect on the health of the host that ingests them, either curatively or preventively.
The effects of probiotics are at least three levels: I) by a barrier effect, they attach themselves to the intestinal wall in competition with other microorganisms,
2) by inhibition of pathogenic germs (acidification of the intestinal medium by production of lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide, 3) by immunomodulation (by promoting the immune response mediated by intestinal IgA against pathogenic germs.
Surprisingly, it has been found that probiotics administered to pregnant women who are breastfeeding or in need of pregnancy, in addition to promoting the mother's immune defenses, significantly reduce the risk of allergic reaction in the newborn.
It has been shown that Lactobacillus rhamnosus administered to pregnant women 4 weeks prior to delivery significantly reduces the risk of atopic eczema in children at risk, a fact that continues well beyond the intake of the composition. invention.
In an advantageous embodiment, the probiotic is present in an amount greater than 750 million seeds per tablet, preferably from 750 million to 2.5 billion seeds and more preferably to a quantity of about 1 or 2 billion. of germs per tablet and most preferably to a quantity of about 1 billion. This quantity has a real impact on the health of the mother as well as on the health of the newborn or the child.
Preferably, the composition according to the invention comprises comprising selenium as micronutrients. The pregnant woman's needs for bioassimilable selenium increase considerably. Selenium is an aritioxidant that is involved in the metabolism of free radicals and other substances produced by lipid oxidation at the level of cell membranes. It also plays a role in the metabolism of the liver and contributes to the maintenance of skeletal and cardiac muscles and spermatozoa, it also improves the health of the hair.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the composition according to the invention is a composition in which the trace elements present are chosen from the group comprising zinc, manganese, magnesium, iron, chromium, copper, iodine, molybdenum, selenium and mixtures thereof.
Preferably, the composition according to the invention comprises the 9 trace elements mentioned above. Trace elements are pure mineral elements necessary for the life of an organism, but in very small quantities. Trace elements are chemical elements which, in a man weighing 70 kilograms, represent a mass of less than 5 grams and which are particularly useful in general for the organism, and more particularly useful in the pregnant woman, in desire to pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Magnesium advantageously provides a natural anti-stress and reduces the occurrence of cramps.
Iodine is a trace element essential for the production of thyroid hormones. These hormones are extremely important, especially at the fetal stage when the nervous system is formed.
Copper, for its part, plays a role in the fight against anemia particularly frequent in pregnant women, because copper helps iron absorption. Copper also plays a role in the maintenance of bones and cartilage.
Chromium plays a role in carbohydrate metabolism and is associated with insulin. Its presence is therefore particularly advantageous in a composition according to the invention.
Iron is particularly necessary because anemia is particularly common in women who are breastfeeding, pregnant or in need of pregnancy. Iron is a component of hemoglobin in red blood cells, muscle myoglobin, and many enzymatic reactions necessary for cell respiration. Iron is present in the body in very small quantities: 4 g in men and 2.5 g in women and deficiencies are particularly common. Therefore, its presence is also particularly advantageous in the composition according to the invention.
The composition according to the invention also comprises zinc, the deficiency of which can lead to growth retardation, abnormalities in sexual maturation, taste disorders, immune problems, skin problems and scarring. It is an antioxidant which also has a role in the treatment of acne of pregnant women for which the administration of anti-acne substances is prohibited. These micronutrients of mineral origin thus act jointly to improve on the one hand the development of the fetus and on the other hand, the health and the resistance of the mother by interacting each other in the absorption related metabolisms of these elements.
Advantageously, the composition according to the invention comprises Zingiber officinalis (ginger). Ginger significantly reduces the nausea characteristic of pregnancy and greatly increases the comfort of the future mother. In addition, the reduction of nausea allows the pregnant woman to maintain a correct diet in a stage where it is of considerable importance. Similarly, Zingiber officinalis prevents digestion difficulties of the composition according to the invention. Dietary supplements given during pregnancy and breastfeeding are generally difficult to digest.
In a preferred embodiment, said vitamins of the composition according to the invention are chosen from the group comprising vitamins A, B, C, D, E and / or their precursors and mixtures thereof. Said composition preferably comprises said vitamins selected from the group comprising [beta] -carotene, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, vitamin B4, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin D3, vitamin E, biotin and mixtures thereof. Preferably, it includes the 12 vitamins together.
Folic acid, also known as vitamin B9, promotes the proper development of the embryo and significantly reduces the occurrence of pathology in the newborn (eg neural tube defects). Vitamins D help form the newborn skeleton, while vitamin A boosts its growth. Vitamin C strengthens the placenta and the general condition of the pregnant woman and promotes the absorption of iron. Vitamin A requirements are increased during pregnancy, but an overdose may be harmful to the fetus. Pro-vitamin A or [beta] -carotene is a non-toxic source that the body will transform according to its needs into vitamins A and therefore, advantageously, without risk of overdose.
Advantageously, the composition according to the invention further comprises further comprising at least one pharmaceutically acceptable additive selected from excipients, stabilizers, carriers, antioxidants, thickeners, anti-caking agents, coating agents, and dyes. For example, as thickeners, the composition comprises cellulose (E460), polydextrose (E1200), ethylmethylcellulose (E465), sodium carboxymethylcellulose (E466). As anti-caking agents, the composition according to the invention preferably comprises silicon dioxide (E551), magnesium stearate (E470b) and, as coating agents, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (E464), polydextrose (E1200) and fractionated coconut oil, orange-yellow (E110) are preferred.
Titanium dioxide (E171), indigotine (E132), iron oxide (E172) and allura (E129) are also preferred as colorants.
Other embodiments of the composition according to the invention are indicated in the appended claims.
The subject of the invention is also a use of the composition according to the invention in the manufacture of a food supplement or a medicament for combating allergy in the newborn. Indeed, it has been shown that the administration of the composition according to the invention to the newborn during the first 6 months of his life, together with a use 4 weeks before delivery in the pregnant woman, reduced by 50% the risk of eczema and allergic reactions in the newborn and that the reduction of the occurrence persisted until about the first 4 years of the life of this last one. In addition, children receiving this probiotic (either through breast milk or as a dietary supplement) suffered less abdominal cramps, or signs of irritable bowel and less need for antibiotics in case of illness.
Other forms of use of the composition according to the invention are indicated in the appended claims.
The tablets each have a final weight of 0.86 g and the recommended dosage is 1 tablet per day.
The composition according to the invention is preferably administered orally, in the form of capsules, tablets, tablets, syrup, aqueous suspension, oil, powder and the like.
The table below shows a non-limiting example of a composition according to the invention in which the dosages are mentioned per daily dose and per tablet. Daily intake
