<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Power generator block for electric vehicle
The present invention relates to a current generator block intended for supplying an electric traction motor and the batteries of an electric vehicle in order to eliminate the range limit of this type of vehicle.
EMI1.1
It is known that the major concern with electric vehicles lies in the weight of the batteries and in the limited autonomy
EMI1.2

EMI1.3
Indeed, it offers a current generator block intended to be installed on board an electric vehicle in order to recharge the batteries during or without them supplying the electric traction motor of the vehicle.
Produced in the compact monobloc form, the current generator block according to the invention can be placed under the engine hood or in the boot of any electric vehicle, making it capable of driving with perfect autonomy over long distances.
The current generator block according to the invention forms a compact assembly which includes a heat engine coupled to a small electric generator in order to drive the latter, an electronic regulating device arranged to regulate the supply of current to the generator according to the energy demand from the electric traction motor, and a contactor controlled by the regulating device in order to connect the current generator to the batteries when the electric traction motor is running and to disconnect the current generator from the batteries when the traction motor electric is stopped and that the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
batteries are charged.
Thus, the current generator block according to the invention suspends the supply of energy when the electric traction motor is stopped and the batteries are charged, but it automatically resumes the supply of energy when a request is made. 'energy.
The heat engine may be designed to be powered by petrol, diesel, LPG gas, hydrogen or any other non-polluting fuel.
An embodiment is illustrated by way of example in the attached drawing. In this embodiment, the generator block 10 comprises a single-cylinder heat engine 11, with its piston 12 and the crankshaft 13. The latter is coupled to the current generator 14 by a transmission chain or gears 15. The electronic regulator 16 regulates the current supplied by the generator 14 and supplying the batteries (not shown) of an electric vehicle via the contactors 17. The voltage of the generator 14 corresponds to that of the electric traction motor of the electric vehicle in which the block is intended to be installed and that of batteries.
The contactors 17 are arranged and connected so that the current generator 14 supplies the batteries of the electric vehicle when it is traveling and so that the current generator 14 is at rest when the electric traction motor of the electric vehicle is at and when the batteries are charged.
Thus, the electric traction motor of an electric vehicle equipped with a generator block according to the invention is always supplied with current when it has to operate and the driver of such a vehicle no longer has to worry about recharging in time the batteries of his electric vehicle.
It is understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment shown in the drawing for illustrative purposes only. In particular, the engine can have several cylinders.
